Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 130 Requests and Toasts
Chapter 130 Requests and Toasts
Ruger suddenly realized that he should probably sit at the same table as the lovely young master Lorigo; there was no place for him at this negotiating table.
The old wizard's apprentice stared at the strange structure that connected the dome to the light stone, his eyes shining brighter than a golden goblet.
"You've got your eye on Star City too?" Ruger asked the old drunkard.
The old wizard apprentice paused for a moment upon hearing this, then pursed his lips: "Of course not. I didn't even know Star City was going to extinguish the sun. I'm only here because it's my hometown. I'm waiting for Twin Moon City, but I'm not as daring as her. I'm waiting to secretly get some of the remaining sun after it truly extinguishes there to make wine, to try it one last time..."
Looking at the old drunkard, Ruger knew he had succumbed to temptation.
Obviously, in this situation, if the old wizard's apprentice could get his wish and have a drink, the chances of success would be much greater, and the leftovers that Twin Moon City would have to wait several more years for would lose their flavor.
"The Fairy Grail?" Dasoya Stars exclaimed in surprise.
This was the first time Luger, who knew both of her identities, had been so surprised and had such a strong emotional reaction to her.
The old wizard apprentice chuckled.
"Fake! Fake! The real one is a legendary item, even high-ranking wizards have a hard time getting their hands on it," the old drunkard said. "However, mine was also made by a fairy king. Although that little fellow was quite weak among the fairy kings, this cup could still be used once, and it did have some effect..."
The old drunkard quickly added, "Hehe, precisely because of its weakness, this cup I made shouldn't give you much of anything, just a tiny bit."
It seemed that the fearlessness of the younger generation had spurred him on. He had been talking to Ruger about serious crimes and terrible punishments, but all of that was forgotten in an instant.
"Dasoya—"
Lorigo suddenly spoke.
"Are you really going to destroy this place? You're going to use the light stones of Star City to advance to the level of a wizard?" Even though Lorigo wasn't a superhuman, he understood what they were talking about.
Having experienced the death of his father, the misfortunes of his brothers, and the impending doom of the underground city, Lorigo knew what his sister was doing. His eyes could no longer be described as grief and anger, but rather as a broken, twisted emotion more than despair.
“I don’t expect you to give up, and I know you won’t listen to me,” Lorig took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. “I only ask that you give me some time, or, after you leave, let the Lightstone shine for another year, just one year, so I can try to do something. Many people will die, the crops in those numbered dungeons that were about to ripen haven’t been harvested yet, and those very young children will hardly survive this sudden change. Mercenaries will also take the opportunity to plunder and cause chaos…”
Dassaya remained silent for a moment.
“I’m sorry, Brother Lorigo, I can’t wait. I have no time left,” she said. “The eve of the Light Stone’s depletion is inherently volatile and difficult to estimate accurately, so I cannot fulfill your request.”
After she finished speaking, she calmly looked at the old wizard apprentice who was looking at her with eager eyes.
"I chose the Grief Puppet Ascension Ritual—"
Dasaya slowly uttered a few words.
The old wizard apprentice's smile froze, then his eyes revealed utter disappointment, as if hearing that name meant the possibility of cooperation was completely over.
“We can’t delay any longer. If the two of us join forces, she won’t be a match for us. You can find your own opportunity later,” the old drunkard turned to Ruger and became warmer again. “Although I don’t know exactly what her ascension ritual is like, anything that’s a magical puppet or something that decides not to be human is extremely resource-intensive. She’s telling me that she can’t share with me, so I can only become a messenger of justice. We’ll still be on the same side.”
Ruger nodded, still feeling that he was a bit unreliable. Perhaps, before he even notified the old drunkard, the old man had already set his sights on Dasoya Star.
It seems he was afraid to commit the crime himself, but still wanted to get some benefits, clearly indicating he had drunk too much alcohol.
“Even if she weren’t undergoing this kind of sublimation ritual, she wouldn’t share it with you,” Ruger said confidently. “I was just about to use my stinginess technique.”
The old drunkard put away his gleaming wine glass, glanced at him, and clearly didn't believe him.
Suddenly, Ruger moved. He grabbed Lorigo by the shoulder and threw him into a corner in the distance, because he realized that the old drunkard had already started to make his move, and this was no longer a place for Lorigo to watch the show.
Ruger dared not be careless in the slightest and immediately used his strongest form.
Previously, Dasoya had always been very certain that they couldn't escape the city, which bothered him. She spoke as if she had accomplices outside the city, but it was strange. If she really had accomplices, they hadn't come to help. It was more like she was a supervisor. And it was an old drunkard, even more cowardly, afraid of getting into trouble. He had the desire to steal but not the courage, and just hid far away outside the city watching.
Ruger felt his horns had grown longer, but not as long as when he had lost his mind the last time.
He controlled the second form of the foul-smelling skin, maintaining the spell for a fleeting moment before deactivating it to observe the old drunkard's condition. He couldn't afford to take down his ally so soon, even if the old drunkard harbored ill intentions. Fortunately, after the test, at least for now, the old drunkard hadn't shown any hostility towards him.
It is safe to use on skin with an unpleasant odor.
The old wizard apprentice summoned several gem fairies, but unlike the red-haired woman's summons, these fairies resembled floating goblets, each goblet-shaped gem crystal clear.
Three different colored glasses, and three glasses of wine down in a row.
The old drunkard instantly transformed into a handsome young man with brown hair.
When Luger looked again, the old drunkard had already disappeared from the spot and appeared near Dasoya even faster than him.
He also took this opportunity to enhance his agility with a lightness technique, making himself even more nimble.
“Do you know what? There won’t be another opportunity like this,” Dasoya said softly. “Everything in this underground city seems to have been prepared for me. I can’t let this opportunity slip by, so I can only apologize to you and to everyone in this city.”
The old drunkard suddenly took out a black wine glass, raised it towards her, and then drank it, as if he were offering a toast.
Dassoya stumbled for a moment, but managed to regain her footing.
"A curse? You're quite amusing. The human body is indeed fragile..." she said, looking at the old drunkard who had now turned into a handsome man.
Taking advantage of her staggering moment, Ruger unleashed a long-prepared freezing ray that struck Dasoya's knee. The surging blue-white ray gradually enveloped her knee, freezing it into a block of ice.
It was at this moment that Dasoya entered the area of the foul-smelling skin.
The unexpected situation and the irresistible magic caused her to fall to the ground, but she inexplicably smiled as she watched the two people rushing towards her.
