Chapter 264 The Hunters' Thoughts

Chapter 264 The Hunters' Thoughts

"Commander-in-Chief, Jeff the Hunter requests an audience!" In the air command center, Jing Nan, who was sitting in a chair analyzing a map, was startled when he suddenly heard Martin's voice.

Logically speaking, not just anyone can come in here; even Mark needs to be announced first.

Now, one of Mark's hunters is asking to see her, which has left him confused. Is this Mark's doing, or is there some problem within the hunters themselves?
"Jeff the Hunter, what brings you here?" Jing Nan crossed his legs and looked at Jeff who had just entered with interest.

Jeff saluted first, then said respectfully, "Commander-in-Chief Jingnan, I have a new mission to convey."

"But we haven't received any mission instructions!" Jingnan was still reviewing the operation of the various resource points on the lighthouse.

“These tasks are rather urgent; they’re Dr. Carrie’s assignments!” Jeff chuckled.

This piqued Jing Nan's interest. He pushed the panel aside and looked at Jeff below. "What kind of mission is it that requires a hunter to personally come to my command center to deliver it?"

"This mission isn't particularly difficult, but we hope the commander-in-chief can re-establish communication with Xuefeng and the others. After all, the mission is quite urgent!"

Jingnan did not immediately open the communication as he had instructed, but instead opened Dr. Carrie's communication.

This scene made Jeff freeze and his heart pound, but he showed no outward change.

"What is it, Jingnan?" Dr. Carrie's lazy voice came through the communication.

“Dr. Carrie! Captain Mark’s subordinate Jeff suddenly came to see me, saying he wanted to convey one of your missions. I didn’t see your latest mission log in the mission log list, so I’m asking!” Jing Nan said, glancing with amusement at the composed Jeff below.

"Ah, yes, that's true! But I haven't finished writing this log yet, and this mission is quite urgent, as it concerns the experiment of the Abyss Walkers. And I've already spoken to Captain Mark, and because it's urgent, he sent Jeff over to give a verbal notification!" Dr. Carrie ate a lollipop, but her eyes were fixed on Mo Cheng, who was half-bent over, rubbing his hands like a fly, and being extremely obsequious.

"Alright, Mo Cheng! I've taken care of things for you, but don't forget our deal. Go back and explain things to Captain Mark!" Carrie pointed at Mo Cheng, who was acting like a lackey, while holding a lollipop.

"Yes, yes, yes! Dr. Carrie, you are truly a great benefactor to us hunters! Don't worry, we will bring you back everything you asked for!" Mo Cheng patted his chest to assure you, gave an OK sign, and then bowed slightly as he retreated in a fawning manner.

Carrie scoffed, rolled her eyes, and turned back to her experiment.

After receiving confirmation in the air command center, Jingnan also opened communications with Xuefeng and others who were carrying out missions on the ground.

"Commander-in-Chief Jingnan, what's the matter?" Xuefeng, who was on a mission on the ground, suddenly received a communication from the Lighthouse.

"Xuefeng, the plan at the lighthouse has changed at the last minute. You may need to add another task to your mission!"

"That's great! When the time comes, don't let us be shortchanged on the contribution points!" Xuefeng quite liked these moments when additional tasks were added to the mission at the last minute. Because of changes in plans and the dangers of going down to the ground, the contribution points always increased considerably in such situations.

"Don't worry, everything's fine! Once I've approved the paperwork, Captain Mark will sign it off, and it'll be approved!"

"Alright!" Xuefeng picked up his tablet and started searching for the new content added to the mission, but after a round, he found nothing. "It hasn't been added to the mission log yet!"

“Of course, it was an emergency. Jeff the Hunter came directly from here and relayed the message verbally! It was from Dr. Carrie!” Jing Nan said, opening up communication permissions and sending the message to Jeff.

"Hey!" Jeff shouted into the communicator, "Brother Xuefeng, can you hear me?"

"Oh my, it seems to be something important that you have to come here in person to deliver it verbally!" Xuefeng looked at the other brothers around him and gave them a wink. Kunjie, Gaoge and the others immediately gathered around him.

They also switched their own communication channels to other independent channels.

The others who were patrolling or directing outside also received Jeff's message.

"Captain Mark and Dr. Carrie have some new tasks. They need you to collect samples of the rock and soil layers on the ground. Also, those things Captain Mark saw last time!" Jeff pressed the communicator and casually walked to the side, leaning against the wall.

He turned sideways to face Jing Nan and the others in the command room, saying, "And we need to hurry! Dr. Carrie's experiments have made some breakthrough progress! So we urgently need some samples, which might be of great help to the Hunters. Then Captain Mark won't have to bear so much pressure!"

Upon hearing this, the expressions of the people still carrying out their mission on the ground changed drastically, but Xuefeng calmly replied, "Alright, send over the mission samples that need to be collected!"

Gao Ge, standing nearby, gave Xue Feng a wink, and Xue Feng nodded. "By the way, how's the lighthouse going?"

"It's still running perfectly, but a group of people are about to embark on their journey! If you're quick enough, you might be able to catch them one last time!" Jeff said, a hint of sadness in his voice. The people in the command room all turned their gazes away.

Xuefeng's voice faltered slightly on the other end of the line. "Where's Mark?" "Mark's fine. Anyway, the Hunters desperately need the samples you brought back!"

"okay, I get it!"

Jeff left, but Jingnan still felt something was off.

On the ground, Xuefeng and the others, after receiving the communication, immediately began instructing the Dust People to load the goods onto the vehicle and return to the Lighthouse.

As for the task Jeff assigned to collect samples, Kunjie simply scooped up a few spoonfuls of soil from the ground, put them in a random bag, and threw them onto the vehicle frame.

"This trip back looks like it's going to be a fierce battle."

“We have to fight even the worst war. If Mark doesn’t get that position, our entire Wilderness Hunters will be finished.”

After they finished speaking, the car started quickly and sped off towards the coordinates given by the lighthouse.

Meanwhile, in space, a reconnaissance aircraft was slowly hovering in near-Earth orbit.

Tie Hui emerged from the cockpit, the engines within his nano-silicon armor propelling him through various movements in space.

Reaching out and brushing aside a piece of debris hurtling towards him at high speed, Tie Hui frowned as he looked at the space scene before him with a headache.

There was trash everywhere, and everywhere were pieces of trash flying wildly due to inertia.

At first glance, hundreds of pieces of trash collided due to high-speed impacts, either exploding into more fragments that scattered in all directions or exploding into sparks that were extinguished in an instant.

Several servo skulls mounted on the back detached from the armor and floated around, probing the surroundings.

"Looking at this scene, it's as if a war once took place here in outer space!"

"War?" Tie Hui looked at the chaotic scene around him and was puzzled. Could this scene really be considered a war?

Even the chaos in space orbits in my previous life was more chaotic than this!
"Yes, the analysis just revealed that many of these debris fragments were caused by kinetic or thermal weapons!"

To make things easier, Tie Hui activated a nano shield around himself. The ripples created by the impact of countless fragments made it difficult for Tie Hui to see the scene in front of him for a moment.

"Be careful, kid!" The Emperor's voice suddenly rang in his mind. Before he could say anything, he immediately strengthened his defenses, looked around more vigilantly, and had the Servo Skull reduce its patrol range.

"What happened?"

"I sensed something was wrong; something was moving around. It felt a lot like the aura of the Mana ecosystem!"

With his power sword drawn and a bomb gun in one hand, the engine on his back slowly ignited, propelling him forward at a leisurely pace.

"Could it be that the so-called Mana ecosystem has really taken root on other planets in the solar system or even in outer space?"

"I can't rule out that possibility. I've looked through the records of Mana ecology in Dragonbone Village. Combining this with ecological research data from various Old World countries, I've found that this so-called Mana ecology is very similar to mythology from ancient India!"

The Emperor's words instantly shattered the atmosphere. Tie Hui was stunned for a moment, then asked, "Damn it, Your Majesty! You've lived to such an old age, and you've done almost every profession. Didn't you create all the myths of Earth's old era?"

The emperor shook his head with his hands behind his back. "You can't say that. After all, so much time has passed, and many things have been modified based on my theories. They are no longer what I created back then!"

Tie Hui nodded in strong agreement, and said cheekily, "That's right, after all, who would have thought that Luo Jia's things would actually be useful in the end?"

The Emperor scoffed, "Tsk... I've noticed that all you do all day is do some ridiculous, infuriating things that deserve a beating!"

"Depend on!"

A sudden attack struck Tie Hui's power sword instantly.

Hundreds of dark green...gravitational bodies were suspended around him, forming a net that surrounded Iron Glow.
