Cang's Ramblings
Chapter 1482 Review of My Drama Years
Chapter 1482 Review of My Drama Years
Hello everyone, I am Cang Yiwei.
Today I would like to recommend a period novel to you.
"My Drama Years", Sima Baishan, Level 4 author.
Category: Urban-Entertainment Stars.
Summary:
Every play is a story.
This is the story of an actor's rebirth, starting from Class 87 of the Acting Department of the Central Academy of Drama...
【Brief Comment】
He also has two books under his name, "National Beer" and "Global Wealth", with 2.6 million and 106 million words respectively. I think we met when he was writing "Fruit Beer".
His new book has been serialized for 78 words, but the data seems not so good: 1 collections, 406 first orders, 4214 real fans, and two rounds of recommended positions. Now he can only rely on himself and try his best to attend classes.
I just read the story, and it bears similarities to my previous works, "1980 My Literary Era" and "Entertainment: I'm Just an Actor," both of which are literary themes. Lately, I've been really drawn to period novels and literary fiction, partly because they're closer to my age, and partly because I occasionally pretend to be an artistic youth.
Putting aside the negative comments from the reader community, I was quite interested in the opening plot of this book. The protagonist, reborn in 1988, is named Jiang Xun, a freshman at the joint program of the Central Academy of Drama and the People's Art Theatre. In a previous life, he was also an actor, born into a family of performing arts, but his skills were not perfect. This time, the People's Art Theatre was facing difficulties, having not produced a masterpiece in years. After finally polishing "The World's Number One Restaurant," many actors were eager to take the lead.
Thanks to his striking appearance and weeks of deep immersion in the role, the protagonist secured a spot as a cast member in Group B. His long gown look initially became a joke around school, but it spread from the cafeteria to the dormitories, from the Central Academy of Drama to the People's Art Theatre. Even playing ball in a long gown was a striking image. When he landed the role in Group B and followed the cast of the People's Art Theatre to Quanjude for a taste of life, his intense immersion earned him the chef's approval and even a duck rack. He then enjoyed a delicious meal with his roommates and female classmates. Famous figures from the Class of '87, such as He Bing, Hu Jun, and Jiang Shan, formed a close bond with the protagonist.
The first rehearsal also left a deep impression on me. The lead actor wore jeans instead of a long gown, yet he still managed to embody the elegance of a young master from the Republican era. My co-star, Wu Gang, was even tricked and nearly made a mistake. The lead actor's performance was highly praised, leading to requests for script revisions. The scriptwriter, after watching the play live, was deeply impressed by the lead actor's suggestions.
Then, through this grand drama, the protagonist gained full recognition from the People's Art Theatre and embarked on a career in acting, starting with sketches and movies. It was a sudden awakening, and everything went smoothly. Honestly, I'll definitely continue to follow the rest of the story, as long as it doesn't break down at some point.
Two aspects of this book captivated me. First, the subject matter. The People's Art Theatre and the entertainment industry of the 1980s and 1990s were filled with numerous greats and legendary figures, and the protagonist had great potential. Second, the writing style. The author's writing skills are very solid. While not overly poetic or descriptive, the occasional words reveal a touch of talent. Furthermore, this book required extensive research, transforming it into an engaging storyline, and the author's ability to interpret it is truly admirable.
As for the others, if you are interested, you can go and check it out yourself.
【to sum up】
Writing is not easy, so cherish every moment.
