Cang's Ramblings

Chapter 1463 Review of "The Devil"

Chapter 1463 Review of "The Devil"

Hello everyone, I am Cang Yiwei.

Today I would like to recommend a novel that has been serialized for ten years.

"Holding the Devil", I am Mo Shui, a level 5 author.

709 words currently being serialized.

Category: Xianxia-Fantasy cultivation of immortality.

Summary:
The master said that once you have a woman, you must protect her for the rest of your life.

The master said that cultivating the devil is difficult, and once you enter the devil's path, you will never turn back.

Master said that the sky is round and the earth is square. The round part represents perfection, and the square part represents the angles of the mind, which represent defiance against fate and disobedience to heaven.

My master is called Ning Fan. He's not a human, but a butterfly possessed by a demon. He's looking for someone, but no one knows who he's looking for, and no one knows how long he'll be looking...

【Brief Comment】

He only has this book under his name. It was serialized on August 7, 2013. The updates were relatively stable in the first few years, and then became monthly and annual updates.

The current achievements of this book include Hundred Alliances, fine products, 300,000 collections, 480,000 fans, and 78,000 posts.

Someone previously left the title of this book on my book club's book collection page, hoping I could talk about it, but it's been delayed until now. This is my first book review, so I wanted to write this.

As a result, I was almost scared to death, and book reviews became unsafe. I tried my best to use the words that meet the requirements and present to you several highlights of this book.

First, the title has been changed. It was previously called "Combined Body and Double Cultivation." From that name, I think many people can guess part of the plot. Then, the content has been changed, probably a major revision. The full version circulating online is more exciting, especially with more detailed descriptions and bolder content.

So, during my preview, I was torn between using the refined, official version as an introduction or the uncut version as a reference. After much deliberation, I think it's best for you to decide. The story follows the protagonist, Ning Fan, as he's taken to the Huanhe Sect, a demonic sect, where he's used as a cauldron and subjected to mad demands. As he nears death, a young woman named Zhihe appears and leaves him a jade locket, which turns out to be a magical artifact of the Chaos Ancient Immortal Emperor, and within it, a great demon is trapped.

He accepted the inheritance of the Immortal Emperor and trained under the Great Demon Master. The so-called Great Demon here turned out to be Han Lao Mo, who was actually just a master in the Foundation Establishment Stage. The realm division can be referred to in "A Mortal's Journey to Immortality." In the early works, the author clearly borrowed the essence of other works.

When I read some of the author's remarks, I found that he seemed to be a very emotional, sensitive and fragile person, with many contradictions and pessimistic thoughts in his heart, as well as some characteristics of a middle school student and a fool. The characters he wrote were complex, and their images after growing up were diverse. In some aspects, they resonated strongly with readers, making many people unforgettable.

However, the frequency of updates has become a major flaw, even worse than Angry Banana's "The Son-in-Law", which is a kind of slacking update. So I was also hesitant when recommending it, and I hope you will be cautious after reading it.

Of course, the later plot is relatively rational, with some philosophical and thoughtful content about demon cultivation, chess, and the like. Actually, the author could consider wrapping up the story properly and not dragging it out. If he's still physically and mentally able to write, he could try writing a new book. Perhaps he'd already created multiple pseudonyms.

In short, this is a rather dangerous novel.
