There are two reasons for this. One is that I was genuinely sleepy. As we age, our ability to stay up late noticeably declines. The other reason is that the book was so drowsy that I couldn't stop reading. Even if I were to read it tonight when my mind was still clear, it would still be boring.

That might be a bit of an exaggeration. To put it nicely, the plot is very detailed, the characters are well-developed, and a lot of content is narrated in a haphazard manner. The author devotes considerable time and effort to the introductions of several female characters, with several chapters devoted to the stories of renting an apartment and moving alone. Of course, the story also includes the protagonist's experiences borrowing books from the library, as well as subsequent conversations during a meal with relatives.

The book describes too many daily events, from beginning to end, and contains a lot of trivial matters. It lacks strong conflicts, and the main plot is not detailed around the protagonist. The most important point is that it is not refined enough.

Many online novels tend to be watered-down, a fact we've gradually come to accept. I was surprised by how this book sets the tone from the very beginning, maintaining a watered-down tone throughout. Perhaps the author initially set a more everyday tone. This has the advantage of being able to incorporate the author's life experiences and present the story in the most unpretentious way possible. The disadvantage is that it's difficult to draw the reader into the story, especially when understanding the context of the time and place.

If you are a person who reads quickly, you won’t feel that the plot is affected at all when you jump around. You can even guess some of the plot just by looking at the table of contents.

So I really admire the author of this book. He actually has the patience to describe every little thing so clearly, and he also rarely mixes in funny, witty and exciting plots.

This is also a skill. If an author can keep updating at a high speed, he or she has already won in terms of quantity alone.

It's just not stimulating and makes you sleepy easily.
