He has four books under his name: "Sword Dao Supremacy", "Super Evolver", "Heavenly Divine Martial Arts" and "Sky Sword Master".

He passed away in 2020, and many readers lined up in the book club to send him off. Learning about the author's story was a bit depressing. Every year, authors pass away due to various accidents.

Back to the point, this book was written by a fellow reader who left a message in the "Cangshi Yiyu" reader circle and urged for updates yesterday. It's a rare thing, he was the first one, so I had to check it out.

The book has caused quite a lot of controversy. Those who like it think it is the pinnacle of kendo themes, while those who don't like it think it is a plagiarism of Tudou's Fights Break Sphere.

I can only say that the opening is somewhat similar. Many fantasy novels struggle to break away from Tudou's incredible opening, and the general fantasy formula is similar. This is also why I haven't read fantasy novels much recently. So, I didn't read very long in this trial read, because I just couldn't bear the routine.

To put it so tactfully, old readers should have this feeling: fantasy is mainstream among young people, but in the eyes of many old readers, it is a tasteless type and just a proof of youth.

Because the plot of this book is quite common. The protagonist, Ye Chen, travels back in time. In his previous life, he was a university student, and this time, he's an outer sect disciple. He practices the sect's swordsmanship, which the elders say is difficult, yet he quickly mastered it. The reason is unknown. During this time, he encounters some people and participates in their activities. Later, in the outer sect selection competition, he defeats the top outer sect member and gradually becomes a core member. After that, I stopped reading.

This is a serious fantasy novel. The writing style cannot be called excellent, the setting is not surprising, the fighting is normal, the second-year student atmosphere is not particularly strong, and I haven't come across it yet as far as the blood-thirsty part is concerned.

This book is quite old, having been written in 2011. It must have been quite popular at the time, otherwise it wouldn't have received 10,000 subscriptions and high praise from Baidu. However, if it were on the new book list in 2023, it would probably not receive much attention.

The rules of the online literature market are hard to grasp, and this style isn't very popular these days, unless it's from a well-known author with a lot of traffic. It's also not a style everyone likes to read; it lacks humor and driving elements, and the imagination of the writing is rather bland.

All in all, it's not my cup of tea, and I'm not sure who will really like it and follow it to the end.
