Chapter 122 Tang San Saves the Master

These words struck Tang San like a heavy hammer blow. His pupils contracted sharply, and his body trembled involuntarily.
"What did you say? Teacher Zhao, please say it again!"

Zhao Wuji gripped Tang San's shoulder, his tone grave: "The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan broke into Blue Tyrant Academy and took Grandmaster and Teacher Liu Erlong away. They...they want to punish Grandmaster according to clan rules."

He recounted in detail how Yu Xiaogang was arrested and the torture he suffered, each word like a sharp blade, leaving a cold mark in the air.

Tang San's face turned deathly pale instantly, his nails digging deep into his palms, blood dripping from between his fingers. He recalled the Grandmaster's earnest teachings, his patient guidance on the path of cultivation, and the figure of the Grandmaster explaining the theory of martial souls to him late at night.

"Why?" he muttered to himself, his voice filled with suppressed anger. "What wrong did the master do to deserve this treatment?"

“Because of the master’s martial soul theory, and because of his relationship with Teacher Liu Erlong, the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan regards him as a disgrace.” Zhao Wuji’s voice was full of pain and resentment. “Now the master is in a critical situation, and we must find a way to rescue him. I came out this time to find you and see if we can ask Senior Tang Hao for help.”

Tang San's eyes hardened instantly, his aura surged, and he unleashed his full Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul. Countless Blue Silver Grasses surged from the ground, billowing like waves in the night: "Teacher Zhao, don't worry. No matter what, I will rescue Teacher. I will plead with Father. Even if it costs me my life, I will not let those people harm Teacher!"

Having said that, Tang San turned to run towards the Star Dou Great Forest, but Zhao Wuji grabbed him, saying, "San, calm down! Senior Tang Hao's whereabouts are uncertain; we need to plan carefully. Besides, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan is heavily guarded; acting rashly will only..."

"I can't wait!" Tang San interrupted Zhao Wuji, his eyes burning with rage. "The longer our teacher stays in their hands, the more dangerous it becomes. Teacher Zhao, please return to the academy and inform Dean Flander and the other teachers to prepare for our rescue. I'm going to find my father now!"

Before the morning mist had dissipated, the long bluestone street of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan was already crowded with people. Yu Xiaogang, his hands bound by iron chains and a bronze shackle engraved with the words "traitor" around his neck, staggered forward, being dragged along by two Soul Emperors.

The damp stone path was soaked with rainwater from the previous night, and with each step he took, the bandages, stained with pus and blood, rubbed against his wounds, causing excruciating pain.

"Look! That's the bastard who has tarnished the family!"

A shrill female voice came from the second floor. Yu Xiaogang looked up and met the contemptuous gaze of the Third Elder's granddaughter. A piece of vegetable leaf, covered in mud, struck him precisely on his scabbed forehead. "Your martial soul mutated into a piece of trash, and you still dare to seduce your cousin? You're worse than a pig or a dog!"

The crowd erupted in laughter. Eggs, rotten vegetable leaves, and leftover spoiled rice rained down on him. Yu Xiaogang instinctively turned his head to dodge, but the Soul Emperor behind him suddenly grabbed his hair, forcibly turning his face towards the onlookers:
"What are you hiding for? Let everyone see this shameless face!" The foul-smelling egg liquid slid down his cheek and into his collar, mixing with the blood seeping from his wounds and spreading dark red stains on his prison uniform.

"A fraudster who plagiarized the Spirit Hall!"

The Fifth Elder, leaning on his dragon-headed cane, squeezed into the front row, his cloudy eyes burning with rage. "Back then, you stole books from the Spirit Hall's collection, and now you dare to use academic pretexts to swindle and deceive! Those bullshit theories you wrote are clearly a slap in the face to our Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family!"

He raised his cane and slammed it heavily on Yu Xiaogang's back, causing the rotten wood to crack instantly. "We have been studying martial spirits for generations. How dare a piece of trash like you question us?"

Yu Xiaogang's knees slammed heavily against the stone slab. He looked at the distorted faces in the crowd, listened to the vicious insults, and a bitter, metallic laugh rose in his throat.

His memory suddenly flashed back to his youth, when he walked along this long street full of hope, dreaming of one day becoming the pride of his family.

But now, he has become a rat that everyone hates.

"Beast!" someone suddenly shouted, instantly igniting the crowd's emotions.

Stones mixed with filth rained down like a storm, and Yu Xiaogang felt his ribs being smashed and a bloody scratch on his left eye from a flying stone.

He tried to cover himself, but the iron chains tightened around his wrists, causing them to bleed profusely.

"Father! Please stop!"

Liu Erlong's cries came from afar. She was surrounded by dozens of Soul Emperors, and nine blue lightning dragon shadows struggled desperately within the chains of soul power.

Yu Xiaogang looked up and saw her disheveled hair, her face streaked with tears, and bloody welts from whippings still visible on her dragon-scale-covered arms. "Punish me! Let Xiaogang go!" Her voice was choked with sobs, but it was drowned out by even more intense shouts and curses.

"Shut up! You shameless wretch!" Yu Luomian's roar shook the air. He strode over the wreckage, his dragon-shaped martial spirit half-manifested, the lightning crackling between his scales distorting the shadows of those around him.
"Tomorrow at noon, bury these two bastards alive at the family altar! Make them pay for their crimes!"

The crowd erupted in cheers and curses, creating a deafening wave. Yu Xiaogang felt someone grab his hair, forcing him to tilt his head back.

The sunlight was so bright he could barely open his eyes, yet he clearly heard Yu Luomian's cold voice from above:
"See that? This is what happens when you betray your family. You think you can change the world with those fallacies and heresies? I'll let everyone know that anyone who dares to challenge the authority of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex will only face death!"

I did nothing wrong.

Yu Xiaogang suddenly spoke, his voice hoarse but firm. He struggled to lift his head, letting the blood blur his vision, "The potential of a martial soul should not be bound by bloodline. The future of soul masters..."

"Still dare to talk back!" Yu Luomian's dragon claw slammed into his chest, slamming him into the mud. Yu Xiaogang felt a cracking sound as his ribs broke, and sweet, metallic blood gushed from his throat. Despite the excruciating pain, he laughed, his laughter mingling with blood and foam, startling the crows under the eaves.

"Bury him alive! Bury him alive!" The crowd began to shout rhythmically, their voices echoing through the sky. Yu Xiaogang was roughly pulled up and dragged forward. He looked at the familiar buildings on both sides of the street, at the clansmen who had once nodded to him, and a wave of sorrow washed over him.

As night fell, Yu Xiaogang was thrown back into the dungeon.

He huddled on the damp straw, listening to the distant laughter, feeling his soul crumbling bit by bit. But when he remembered Liu Erlong's cries and the trusting eyes of the Shrek Academy students, a faint flame rekindled in his heart.

A few days later. The late autumn mountain wind, carrying withered leaves, swept across the back mountain of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family, and the air was filled with the smell of decay.

On the execution ground, which was twenty feet square, huge bronze chains scraped against the ground, making a piercing sound. This sound, mixed with the rising and falling insults, echoed under the gloomy sky, like a funeral dirge.

Yu Xiaogang was held up by two Soul Emperors, his ankles shackled with heavy black iron chains. With each step, sparks flew from the stone pavement, the sound of the shackles striking the stone like the footsteps of death. Liu Erlong was bound like a dumpling by soul power chains, her hair still stained with remnants of rotten eggs thrown at her during the parade the day before. She was disheveled, yet her eyes remained defiant.

"Keep a close eye on them!"

Yu Luomian stood on the three-zhang-high execution platform, which was made of black basalt and carved with ferocious dragon patterns, exuding a chilling aura. He waved the dragon-headed command flag in his hand fiercely, and the thirty-six dragon-patterned battle flags behind him fluttered in the wind, the dragon patterns on the flags seeming to come alive, baring their fangs and claws.

"This is the consequence of betraying the family and defiling the bloodline!" His gaze swept across the nearly one thousand clansmen below the stage like a hawk's, every glance filled with intimidation. When his gaze landed on Yu Xiaogang's twisted face, a cruel smile curled at the corner of his lips.

"Before burying him alive, let him hear a good recount of his crimes!"

"Yu Xiaogang! Your martial soul has mutated into a useless piece of trash; you are a disgrace to the family!" The Seventh Elder, leaning on his scepter inlaid with soul bones, walked shakily to the edge of the pit. The soul bones on the scepter glowed with an eerie light, each telling a story of past slaughter and glory. The Seventh Elder's cloudy eyes were filled with disgust, as if he were looking at something nauseating.

"Yet you show no remorse, and with your bastards, you have made my Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan a laughingstock across the entire continent!" As soon as he finished speaking, a deafening roar of curses erupted from below the stage, and stones and rotten vegetable leaves rained down on Yu Xiaogang. Some clansmen even picked up excrement from the ground and threw it viciously at him, hurling vulgar insults at him.

Liu Erlong suddenly began to struggle wildly. Her dragon scales shattered one by one within the soul power chains, and each scale that fell off was accompanied by a gush of blood.

"Kill me if you must! He's innocent!"

Her cries were filled with despair and anger, echoing through the mountains, but were drowned out by Yu Luomian's cold laughter: "Innocent? He plagiarized the theories of the Spirit Hall, spread heresies and incited commoners to question the authority of the family. Such crimes deserve to be torn to pieces!"

Yu Luomian's voice was filled with hatred for Yu Xiaogang, as if Yu Xiaogang were his mortal enemy.

As the command flag was waved again, four burly Soul Emperors leaped into the two-meter-deep pit. The bronze shovels in their hands gleamed coldly, their surfaces still bearing traces of blood from previous executions. The damp yellow earth was thrown high into the air, and the first shovel slammed heavily onto Yu Xiaogang's shoulder, the stench of humus mixed with the smell of blood filling his nostrils.

Yu Xiaogang felt as if a huge boulder had hit his shoulder, and the intense pain almost made him faint.

"No!" Yu Xiaogang twisted his body violently, the chains digging deep, bone-revealing wounds into his wrists, blood dripping down and staining the ground beneath his feet. "I took in a disciple named Tang San! He's the son of Haotian Douluo Tang Hao! If you dare touch me today, Tang Hao's Haotian Hammer will smash you into mincemeat!" he shouted hoarsely, his eyes filled with resentment and threat.

An eerie silence fell over the execution ground.

Yu Luomian's pupils contracted sharply, and the token in his hand snapped in two. A flicker of panic crossed his face, but it was quickly replaced by ferocity.

"Ridiculous! How could Tang Hao possibly have anything to do with a piece of trash like you?"

But his trembling voice betrayed his inner panic. The clansmen below the stage looked at each other, whispering among themselves. Some thought of the Shrek Seven Devils that had been the subject of rumors recently, and of the mysterious boy who possessed both Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer.

A commotion began to rise in the crowd, and some timid tribesmen even took a few steps back, their eyes filled with fear.

"You don't believe me?" Yu Xiaogang coughed up blood, a maniacal laugh spreading across his face. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes burned with a mad flame. "Go to Tiandou City and find out!! When he finds out that your teacher was buried alive..."

His words were interrupted by Liu Erlong's shrill scream—a Soul Emperor slapped a whole shovel of dirt onto her face, and dragon blood mixed with mud gushed out from between her fingers.

Liu Erlong shook her head desperately, trying to shake the mud off her face, but she was bound by chains and could not move at all, only able to let out painful whimpers.

"Gag him!" Yu Luomian, enraged, unleashed three lightning whips from his sleeve, lashing Yu Xiaogang's back. Wherever the whips struck, flesh tore and burned, but amidst the acrid smell of burning flesh, Yu Xiaogang laughed even louder: "Tang Hao once single-handedly stormed the Spirit Hall and killed Pope Qian Xunji! You bunch of cowards cowering behind your clan crests dare to oppose the Clear Sky Douluo?"

His voice ripped through the clouds, startling the crows that filled the mountain. The crows circled in the air, cawing as if they too were mourning this tragic scene.

The pile of yellow earth in the pit grew higher and higher, soon reaching above their knees. Liu Erlong suddenly fell silent. She laboriously turned her head and gently wiped the blood from Yu Xiaogang's face with her mud-covered hands. Her eyes were gentle yet resolute.
"Xiao Gang, don't be afraid, it's the road to the Yellow Springs."

Before she could finish speaking, another wave of soil buried her. Yu Xiaogang watched his beloved being gradually swallowed by the yellow earth, his heart filled with despair and rage. He felt an immense pressure tearing at his chest, each breath feeling like swallowing shards of glass.

"Tang San!" He roared with his last strength, but his voice was drowned out by Yu Luomian's roar on the execution platform: "Even if Tang Hao comes in person today, he can't save you! Bury! Bury! Bury!" A thousand clansmen shouted in unison, and the sound waves shook the clouds and mist in the mountains.

At the critical moment, a deafening roar suddenly resounded in the sky, like a thunderclap. A golden figure, carrying an aura of world-destroying power, instantly tore through the sky, distorting space wherever it passed.

"Stop!" Tang San's roar was like rolling thunder, echoing throughout the entire back mountain.

His eyes burned with raging fury as he gazed at the master buried in the earth, his grief and anger almost overwhelming him. Tang Hao, on the other hand, remained cold, his eyes gleaming with killing intent, as he slowly scanned the members of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan present.

Yu Luomian's expression changed drastically. Looking at the two who had suddenly appeared, a strong sense of unease welled up within him. He forced himself to remain calm and shouted:
"Tang Hao, mind your own business! This is a private matter of my Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family!"
