The King of Soft Rice in Chinese Entertainment
Chapter 402 Comparison
Chapter 402 Comparison
“Hmm, that sounds reasonable,” Xu Jiuyang nodded. “But can you explain why you came to my room so late at night and even sent my assistant away?”
"Of course I'm here to offer myself," Wan Qian said smoothly.
How can you say something so confidently? Xu Jiuyang wanted to ask, but faced with Miss Wan's serious face, he could only sigh in the end: "Is it really necessary?"
“Of course it’s necessary.” Wan Qian nodded repeatedly. “Look, Huo Siyan, Yang Xue, and Yin Tao have all done it, so there’s no reason for me to be an exception. Or do you think I’m not pretty enough to compare with them?”
Xu Jiuyang really wanted to say that, but the other party had already spoken first, so he forced a smile and said, "Of course not. As a girl from a modest family, you still have many unique characteristics."
"So it's not sexy or wanton enough?" Wan Qian immediately asked again. "That's easy, just teach me, I learn things very quickly."
"Wanwan, do you really have to do this?" Xu Jiuyang couldn't help but ask.
"You don't want me to fall too far behind them, do you, Yang-ge?" Miss Wan's eyes crinkled into a smile, then she leaned closer and placed a hand on his chest. "In the company, which girl with even a little bit of looks hasn't you slept with? Even the boss's wife is no exception. Why do you forget about me?"
“Hmm…” Xu Jiuyang thought about it seriously, “At least Qin Lan and Qin Fang didn’t.”
"No way, Brother Yang doesn't even spare the boss's wife?" Wan Qian was very surprised.
"What forbidden property?" Xu Jiuyang raised an eyebrow.
“This…” Miss Wan stuck out her tongue, “I didn’t say anything…”
She immediately started squirming in his arms: "Oh my, whether it's Huo Siyan, Yang Xue, or Yin Tao, they all say that you're amazing, Yang-ge, so I want to try it out... just how amazing are you, Yang-ge?"
At this point, a blush finally appeared on her delicate face, which made Xu Jiuyang inexplicably breathe a sigh of relief. So, after all this time, you can still be shy.
Many women may throw themselves at her, but at her age, she's the only one who's ever been so proactive. She wonders what Fan Bingbing has been instilling in her.
Moreover, it's likely that not only Fan Bingbing, but also Huo Siyan, Yang Xue, Yin Tao, and others were involved in the instigation.
“Wanwan, you need to know that I never stand on ceremony,” Xu Jiuyang pinched her chin. “Now that things have come to this point, I can’t just do nothing. You need to think it over.”
This is obviously a bit hypocritical. At this point, you can't just do nothing. Do you think the other person would just do nothing?
However, Wan Qian didn't care at all, and even waved her little fist: "Come on!"
The consequence of her taking the initiative was that she spent two days in the hotel because she hadn't missed a single spot, from head to toe.
This has nothing to do with Xu Jiuyang. He hadn't originally planned to include the rest, since he had accepted the handkerchief. But Wan Qian wouldn't have it, saying that waiting would take too long and it would be better to do it all together, and that she had made preparations.
Since that's the case, what else is there to say?
Fortunately, Han Mengci's role wasn't very big, and she only came to us after filming was finished, so it didn't cause any delays.
In contrast, Jin Qiaoqiao was much more aggressive. She knocked on the door the night she joined the crew, and didn't care that Zhang Shuang and Zhao Shu were also there. She simply said that she would play together.
If Zhang Yan hadn't been still somewhat unable to accept it and had run away from the room early on, she probably would have been dragged in by her.
In short, they had a wild night, and the next day, apart from waking up a little late, Jin Qiaoqiao was no different from usual, and she performed her scenes very well.
Oh, she had a cameo role as a fox demon in the Hidden Dragon Cave in "Chinese Paladin". Xu Jiuyang had previously suspected that Sister Xiaoli deliberately created an all-female cast for the "Chinese Paladin" TV series to highlight Liu Qianqian, and now it seems even more likely.
Not only are the aunts and grandmothers all charming, but any female character, even one with a little screen time, is dressed up beautifully, and the actresses who play these roles are all somewhat famous.
The saying "a red flower needs green leaves to set it off" has certain conditions. The Legend of Sword and Fairy has a large number of female characters, and there are game character portraits to give people a first impression. It's one thing to use an actress with mediocre looks, but if an ugly one is used, the audience will probably criticize her to no end.
Then, since the main female characters besides Zhao Ling'er still need to be somewhat attractive, it's better to make them all beauties and highlight Liu Qianqian in the plot, which will make her more memorable.
That's Xu Jiuyang's guess.
Male actors were not so lucky. Although several important supporting male roles were played by actors with good looks or unique temperament, such as Xu Jinjiang, who played the leader of the Moon Worship Cult, and whom he had previously worked with in "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber".
However, this version of Baiyue is not a scientist, and he certainly wouldn't spout nonsense like the Earth is round—you're living in a fantasy world with gods and demons, for crying out loud!
In short, he's a purely evil person who wants to plunge the world into chaos and is an ambitious man who wants to conquer the world. However, he has methods and schemes, unlike the stereotypical fool in the original game.
Getting back to the main point, important male supporting characters receive special treatment, but minor characters don't. Whether it's the snake demon man, the ghost general, or the red demon king, they all wear wigs, use CG, and are shown against a green screen.
The Red Demon King is better; he's set up as half-human, half-demon, so his facial features are still human-like. The vampire zombie look in "Encountering the Wanderer" is inappropriate.
As for the Tang Dynasty version of the TV series... you're telling me that lump of jelly is the Red Demon King?!
Of course, the Demon King of Hell is purely CG. There's no other way; although he doesn't have three heads, he does indeed have six arms, which is too difficult for someone to portray, so full CG is more appropriate.
As for the Tang Dynasty version of the TV series... there isn't one at all. CG would cost too much money. Just one Water Demon Beast is already difficult enough; if they added a Prison Suppressing King, would anyone even want to live? Let Baiyue destroy the tower himself!
It's hard to keep up with the pace, and it's no wonder some people say that Tangren's investment in this "Chinese Paladin" series is probably less than 600 million.
Putting that aside, this arrangement isn't without its drawbacks. These boss battle scenes are basically filmed in front of a green screen, which places certain demands on the acting skills of the male and female leads. Normally, 60 points of acting skills would suffice, but in these situations, at least 70 points are required.
Xu Jiuyang and Liu Qianqian had no problems, but Tang Yan was struggling and needed more practice.
However, there are advantages as well. Action scenes are relatively easier to design and perform.
For a film or television series with action scenes, having a sufficiently excellent action director and director can make the work twice as effective.
Taking "Encountering the Wanderer Again" and the Tang Dynasty version of "Chinese Paladin" as examples again, the reason why the latter was able to gain a lot of fans despite its messy plot changes and obvious poverty is not only because the male and female leads were well-chosen and the word "misery" was clearly written, but also because the action scenes were good enough.
The former, while fully respecting the original work and producing a considerable amount of CG to showcase the spell effects, still achieved only moderate popularity. This is partly due to changes in the overall environment and partly due to the awkwardness of the action scenes.
At the simplest level, Li Xiaoyao and Zhao Ling'er both have magical attacks, so their performances are decent thanks to the CG. But Lin Yueru only uses basic attacks from beginning to end. She doesn't even have powerful moves like the Dragon Slayer Technique or the Seven Absolute Sword Qi.
In addition, the editing was mediocre, and the actors' performances were generally inferior to the Tangren version, so it was still quite a bit worse.
Sometimes, life is just so paradoxical: when action choreography is cheap, CG is expensive, and when CG is cheap, action choreography is expensive.
