A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 9 JojaMart
Chapter 9 JojaMart
This unexpected opening remark made Leon stunned for a moment, but he still answered from the heart.
"I quite like it."
After all, fishing is a hobby that men usually unlock automatically when they reach a certain age. In modern civilized society, hunting channels for ordinary people are basically closed. Fishing is considered to be the most people-friendly hunting channel. It allows people to enjoy the joy of harvesting from the game with prey in a straightforward and simple way.
"So, can you fish?" Willy continued to ask.
"A little bit. Whether or not you can catch fish depends entirely on luck." Lyon answered truthfully.
"It's okay. The local fishery needs fresh blood like you. I'm optimistic about your future." Willy laughed and patted Leon's shoulder. Then he quickly went into his house and came out after a while with a bamboo fishing rod.
"I've had a good catch recently, so I was able to get a new fishing rod. This one is a bit old, but it's perfectly suitable for a beginner. I'll give it to you as a welcome gift."
As he said that, Willy handed the fishing rod to Leon.
Lyon glanced at the fishing rod. Although the rod body was made of bamboo, it was fully equipped with a reel, lure, and float, and the handle was smooth and shiny.
"Don't refuse. Willy likes most to see young people join him, but most residents of Stardew Valley are not very keen on fishing." Lewis advised Leon from the side.
Leon was also quite interested, so he nodded and thanked Willy, then took the fishing rod.
Seeing Leon holding his old fishing rod, Willy's smile grew even brighter. "Well, this can be considered a kind of inheritance. If you have any extra catches and don't know what to do with them, you can come to my shop to sell them. I'll give you the fairest price based on the quality."
"I will." Leon nodded. He did have this idea. After all, he would not miss out on a profitable project like fishing that has no other expenses except the time cost.
"Okay, I've met Willy, I should go back. What are your plans, Leon?" Lewis asked after seeing Willy finish chatting with Leon.
"Would you like to come back to town with me, or stay here and learn fishing techniques from Willy for a while?"
"Let's go to town. We just moved here and there are still many things we haven't bought yet. I need to prepare."
Under Willy's expectant gaze, Leon chose to return to the town. After all, in terms of daily life and hobbies, the former is more important.
However, Leon did not forget to thank Willy for the gift: "As for the fishing question, I will ask Captain Willy for advice next time."
"Hahaha, call me Willy, I'm not a captain." Although Willy said this, it can be seen from his happy face that he really enjoys the title of captain.
Leon said that this was easy to handle. Perhaps the residents of Pelican Town were unfamiliar to him, but he was very familiar with them.
Verified by his interactions with Lewis, Robin, Joe Diggs, and others, Lyon was certain that the personalities, preferences, and stories of the residents of Pelican Town he knew were essentially the same as in reality.
After getting into the pickup truck with Lewis, Leon went to Joja Supermarket with him on Lewis' recommendation. After all, compared to Pierre's Seed Store, Joja Supermarket has a wider variety of items and is cheaper.
"Leon, Lewis, hello."
As soon as Lewis and he entered the Joja Supermarket, Jody, who had just met last night, saw them and immediately greeted them warmly.
"Hello, Jody." Lewis responded, and so did Leon.
Jody carried two bags of goods and came to Leon and whispered, “Thank you for the drinks last night. Next time I hold a party, you must come.”
"Okay." Leon didn't refuse. After all, this kind of interpersonal relationship was necessary. Although he didn't have any thoughts about married women, having more friends meant having more options. Not to mention that Jodi was a nice person. Befriending her would make it easier for him to integrate into Pelican Town.
"Well, by the way, you should still be single, right?" Jodi suddenly asked.
"Yes." Leon nodded, then looked at Jody curiously. Jody smiled and replied, "Then maybe I've decided who to invite to the party."
After saying that, Jody gave Leon a playful look, then left the supermarket with the basket.
Lyon was speechless, but also a little expectant.
"You go shopping by yourself. I have to go talk to Morris." Lewis spoke only after seeing Jody and Leon greet each other and whisper to each other.
"Ah."
Lyon nodded, and then Lewis left.
Lyon also entered the supermarket and started wandering around.
Joja Supermarket is actually quite familiar to Leon. After all, he was an employee of Joja before he left, responsible for managing the purchasing plans and orders of a store.
Moreover, Joja Supermarket has a monopoly position in this country. You can see Joja Supermarket in almost every city and even town.
Therefore, the layout of this kind of chain supermarket is basically the same, and so are the types of goods. Lyon easily found the area where the kitchen utensils he needed were located. After selecting a set of kitchen utensils, he bought some commonly used seasonings.
Finally, I chose a bag of rice and some vegetables and meat that were easy to store, which marked the end of this shopping trip.
When he went to the counter to pay, Leon happened to see Lewis coming towards him, and a man wearing glasses and a suit with a calm expression standing beside him.
"Morris, meet me. This is Leon, the new farmer in Stardew Valley. Leon, and this is Morris, the manager of the JojaMart Pelican Town branch."
Lewis took the lead in helping the two introduce each other.
"Hello."
"Hello."
Both of them maintained basic social etiquette, greeted each other and shook hands, but Lyon's expression was very indifferent, while Morris was different. He showed a very warm smile on his calm face.
“Mr. Leon, perhaps we can establish some business cooperation in the future.”
"As far as I know, Joja uses a unified supplier to provide its products, so there should be no possibility of cooperation between us." Leon replied with a businesslike smile.
"That's a branch in a big city. As the store manager in Pelican Town, I have the right to choose a more convenient and suitable supplier," Morris explained, his gaze fixed on Leon. "Mr. Leon seems quite familiar with Joja's business operations."
"I used to work for JOJA," Leon replied.
"I see." Morris nodded, looking at Leon with more eager eyes.
