A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 8: Young man, do you like fishing?
Chapter 8: Young man, do you like fishing?
Leon hates the Riddler, especially when the Riddler asks him riddles.
However, Lewis obviously would not explain, so even if he was extremely curious, Lyon probably had no way of getting the truth from this cunning mayor.
Perhaps the truth needs to be discovered by oneself. Although it is quite troublesome, Lyon thinks it is also quite interesting, because these truths covered up by Lewis must be very interesting.
"Thank you for your explanation. By the way, are you going back to town? If so, I'd like to take a ride to buy some ingredients and kitchen utensils."
Unable to get an answer, Lyon had to suppress his curiosity temporarily and turn to planning his previous plan.
"Of course, it's just a side note. Even if you didn't mention it, I would have invited you to go with me to see Willy. He has a gift for you." Lewis nodded and got into the pickup truck.
"Come in the car, let's go together and take a walk around town. I'll show you the way."
Leon did not refuse. After getting on the passenger seat, Lewis drove him away from the farm.
It’s different with a car. A half-hour drive only takes five minutes to reach Pelican Town.
"This is the only hospital in town. Dr. Harvey is a local doctor. He's very skilled and a very nice person, though he's a bit awkward socially. If you get injured or sick in the future, you'll get the best treatment here."
On the north side of Pelican Town Square, Lewis stopped the car and pointed to the big house with a red cross sign hanging on the side.
After introducing the hospital, Lewis drove a little further.
"This is Pierre's seed shop. Besides seeds, he also sells some daily necessities, but his main business is agricultural products and medium-to-high-quality seeds. Although the prices are a bit higher, if you want high-quality crops, Pierre's seeds are definitely the first choice."
Lyon looked out the car window and saw a house with a sign that said "Pierre's Seed Shop". It covered a large area, and through the transparent glass door, he could see many people shopping inside.
The overall layout is basically the same as that of a supermarket, but it appears to be more rural, with most shelves filled with vegetables.
"But Pierre's will be closed on Wednesdays. If you want to buy seeds on that day, you'll have to go to JojaMart."
Lewis finished speaking and continued driving forward. After crossing a stone arch bridge, he took Leon to see a blue two-story building with a distinct modern atmosphere.
The steel and concrete structure is completely different from the architectural style of most houses in Pelican Town. A huge JojaMart sign hangs at the top. Behind the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, you can see a wide variety of goods in the supermarket and a large number of employees in uniform busy in front of the shelves.
Lewis had obviously seen all of this and couldn't help but say, "Actually, there's a Joja in town that's pretty good. It's open 24/7, year-round, and has a wide selection of good products at affordable prices. But I always feel like its style doesn't quite fit in with Pelican Town."
Lewis couldn't help but add, "But it's also boosted Pelican Town's overall economy. Morris, the head of JojaMart Pelican Town, recently approached me with a proposal to convert the abandoned community center into a Joja logistics warehouse. I'm torn. After all, on the one hand, it's about Pelican Town's economic growth, and on the other, it's about Pelican Town's cultural atmosphere. I don't know which one to choose."
"Forget it, let's not talk about this anymore. I'll take you to Clinton's blacksmith shop." Lewis turned around and drove south. After passing a small park, he took Leon to see a dark brown stone house.
"Clinton's Blacksmith Shop is a long-established business in Pelican Town. The Clinton family has been running blacksmith shops for generations, so their craftsmanship is outstanding. The tools and weapons they produce are arguably the best. If you ever want to go on an adventure in the wild, picking out a weapon here is definitely the best choice."
Leon nodded. This world is not that safe. There are monsters in some places in the wild and in mines.
After getting to know Clinton's blacksmith shop, Lewis continued driving Leon to a large building further north, near the river surrounding Pelican Town.
"The library and museum in Pelican Town was the cultural exchange center of Pelican Town. However, the previous curator took away all the antiquities in the museum and fled to the Gotlo Empire, so now it only has the function of a library."
Speaking of this, Lewis's expression was a little ferocious: "Damn old curator, I didn't expect that he would actually defect to the Gotlo Empire. If I had paid more attention to the museum, I would have shot this son of a bitch before he left."
Leon didn't say anything, just nodded silently.
Lewis also realized that he was a little manic. He took a deep breath to calm down and said, "Forget it, let's not talk about this. Let's go to the beach. Willy is waiting for us there."
After saying that, he stepped on the accelerator and took Leon through the town, crossed a stone bridge and a forest path, and arrived at a beautiful beach.
"Stardew Valley is located on the edge of the Gem Sea, so the rich natural resources and minerals here need to be transported by sea. Pelican Town was originally established for this reason. However, times have changed. Pelican Town has now become a marginal area of the Vanger Republic and has turned to developing tourism."
Driving on this clean and tidy beach, Lewis explained to Leon.
"Does Pelican Town still maintain sea transportation now?" Lyon asked.
"Compared to sea transportation, the newly built roads actually have lower transportation costs. Furthermore, there aren't many large quantities of goods in Stardew Valley right now that would require docks and cargo ships. Therefore, the port now only operates fisheries and has lost its transportation capabilities."
Lewis said as he parked the car by the beach, got out of the car with Leon, and then stepped onto the pier built on the sea. At the end of the pier, a wooden house stood alone on the ocean.
When the two approached the wooden house, Leon was the first to see a tanned middle-aged man wearing a felt hat, a sweater and a big beard, and holding a cigarette in his mouth, standing on the dock and looking at the sea in the distance.
"Willy, I brought you the farmer you wanted to meet." Lewis greeted the uncle after seeing him.
"Haha, Lewis, thank you. Come, let me see what kind of guy our new farmer in Stardew Valley is." Willy turned around when he heard the voice and saw Leon next to Lewis. His first words were.
"Hey boy, do you like fishing?"
