Chapter 291, A New Face: Full-Wave Fiber Optics Breaks the Kid's Defenses

Chapter 291, A New Face: Full-Wave Fiber Optics Breaks the Kid's Defenses

In November 1985, in the lobby of Yokohama Bank's Shibuya branch in Tokyo, a display of Sharp's latest television set was hanging on the wall, showing the latest foreign exchange rate: one US dollar to 192 Japanese yen.

Before September 22, the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Japanese yen was 1:250, but now it has become 1:192.

Such a huge change caused an uproar among the public, and many people panicked, fearing unemployment.

At that time, a view emerged in the media that the Plaza Accord would cause the Japanese economy to collapse.

Everyone knows that Japan is a self-sufficient economy, earning foreign exchange and making a lot of money through manufacturing exports.

When the yen appreciates, the competitiveness of products from companies such as Toshiba, Sharp, Sony, and Toyota in the international market will be greatly weakened.

Take the current appreciation of the Japanese yen, for example. It went from 250 yen to one dollar to 192 yen to one dollar. The speed of this appreciation is simply astonishing.

As a result, Japanese exports of products such as televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, cars, and radios will lose their competitiveness in the international market.

If companies can't make money, then companies like Toshiba will start laying off employees.

Who wouldn't panic if they lost their job?

Given Japan's situation, large-scale layoffs in the manufacturing sector would undoubtedly lead to the collapse of the Japanese economy.

This is the view of many Japanese economics experts, and it has been hotly debated in the media and newspapers.

However, some people have noticed that in order to stimulate the domestic economy, Takeshita Noboru and his associates announced a six trillion yen fiscal stimulus plan, with a clear intention to loosen monetary policy.

Coupled with a very loose domestic monetary policy, Japan's domestic economy also began to take off.

Simply put, people have more money in their pockets, and their willingness to spend has increased.

Tokyo's real estate market hasn't even taken off yet this year, but an upward trend in housing prices has already begun to emerge.

Since everyone has money in their hands, they are naturally more willing to spend it.

Six trillion yen, at the current exchange rate of 192 yen to 1 US dollar, is equivalent to 31.25 billion US dollars, which is a very large sum.

However, in terms of consumption, it is definitely far less than the two major reservoirs of funds: the real estate market and the stock market.

After all, no matter how much ordinary people are willing to spend, at most they can only buy televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners, or cars.

Even a big purchase like a car doesn't cost that much money.

Housing is the ultimate choice for most people, and stock speculation is the next option.

Wang Duoyu felt this very deeply.

After all, in his previous life, he had money and bought a house in the capital. He originally thought he would have to pay off the loan for thirty years, but unexpectedly, he took on several large scientific research projects, which gave him a lot of funding and allowed him to pay off the mortgage.

Then, due to events involving masks and other issues, he was even busier than usual.

For these math professors, being busy means making money, and making a lot of money at that.

After having money in hand, he couldn't resist buying a house again; this time it was an investment.

Then, after the mask mandate was lifted, mortgage rates were lowered, and many other policies were introduced, which allowed him to quickly pay off his mortgage.

Well, now that he had money, he couldn't resist, because at that time many government officials were personally investing in stocks, and he followed suit.

Then he became the "leek" (a metaphor for being exploited), except he didn't get any meat.

He was planning to cut his losses after seeing the stock price drop, but then he took on a project and was busy for more than three months.

This was a secret project, during which he was completely unable to contact the outside world. It wasn't until three months later that he was able to make contact with the outside world.

However, after he came into contact with the outside world, he didn't immediately think about stock trading because he had many things to do at home.

In the end, I only remembered it because I happened to see the news, and then I found out that the company I had invested in had actually seen its stock price rise a lot because of the rise in gold prices.

He not only avoided being exploited in the stock market, but actually made a lot of money from it.

The dramatic fluctuations in the stock market are truly a test of one's nerves.

After that, he completely closed his Tonghuashun account and disappeared from the A-share market.

After all, the stock market is not like mathematics, which can be calculated; the stock market is completely unpredictable.

If you can't afford to play, you can at least avoid it!
The Japanese stock and real estate markets are now booming, and some people who have noticed these changes are already taking out bank loans to enter the market.

Japan is currently implementing a loose monetary policy, making it increasingly easier and more convenient for banks to lend money.

However, Kiku Yamashita of Yokohama Bank no longer dared to issue yen loans with the intention of repaying them in US dollars, especially those with long repayment periods.

"Duoyu, when do we start releasing this money?"

In the Party Secretary's office in the administration building on the Harbin Institute of Technology campus, Lü Gongliang inquired in this way.

Since returning from the train station, Wang Duoyu hasn't gone home yet because Lü Gongliang and the others have many questions for him.

“Principal, I’ve already said before that we shouldn’t get involved in this matter until the end of the year.”

"It looks like the yen has appreciated quite a bit now, but in reality, it's far from reaching its peak. In my estimation, this exchange rate will continue to rise."

In fact, by the end of the year, the closing price of USD/JPY will be 168, and it will continue to appreciate next year.

Greedy Wall Street will continue to make money, frantically taking away more and more profits, and this money originally belonged to American manufacturing.

After listening, Liu Deben and Lü Gongliang frowned and said:
"Are you sure you don't need to worry about it? Aren't you worried that something unexpected might happen?"

"Old Liu, Old Lü, what unexpected things do you think might happen? Will the US stop the yen from appreciating? Or will Japan simply not cooperate?"

Upon hearing Wang Duoyu's question, Liu Deben and the other man remained silent, unsure how to refute him.

But then, Wang Duoyu continued:

"And you might not know this, but housing prices in Japan have already increased by almost 100 yen. You don't think I don't know that, do you?"

"The rise in Japanese housing prices already speaks volumes. A 100 yen increase in two months may seem like little, but it's actually quite dramatic."

"With the two major reservoirs of housing prices and the stock market, Japan's economy is definitely not in trouble in the short term. But in the long term, it's hard to say."

"Currently, it's not just Japanese citizens who have money; starting next year, a large amount of international hot money will also flow into Tokyo, which will rapidly boost the development of Japan's real estate market."

"Especially if you take a closer look at how easy it is to get a loan in Japan right now, you'll clearly see how crazy the real estate market is, especially Tokyo's housing prices, which will rise rapidly in the next few years."

"Furthermore, all my previous predictions have come true, so the Japanese real estate market will continue to move forward as I currently predict, because Japan has no other options."

In order to cope with the consequences of the yen's appreciation, Japan is not only injecting liquidity domestically to develop the national economy and promote the prosperity of the domestic consumer market, but also integrating its economy and expanding into overseas markets.

With the domestic economy stagnant, it is virtually impossible for any new force to rise in Japan.

Pandora, Yuma Clothing, and others aren't even considered minor forces; at best, they're just small fry, so of course they won't be taken seriously.

Moreover, these are all American companies, so they wouldn't dare to do anything blatantly.

Most importantly, companies like Yuma Apparel and Pandora have taken out loans from many local banks, including Yokohama Bank, indicating they have connections and influence, and few dare to mess with them.

After all, the most important thing in life is having connections and influence; otherwise, you're just a nobody, how could you possibly rise to the top?
Therefore, Takeshita and his colleagues negotiated with companies such as Toshiba, Sony, and Toyota to expand into overseas markets through joint ventures and other means, while also upgrading the quality of their exported products.

The reason is that nowadays, Toyota cars, Toshiba air conditioners, Sharp televisions, and other products can no longer compete with other similar products internationally based on the advantage of high quality and low price.

The only way out is to improve product quality and innovate.

Quality is a must, while innovation was inspired by companies like Huaxin, Dolphin Games, and Diaopai.

After all, these companies affiliated with Harbin Institute of Technology started very late, but their competitiveness in the international market is by no means weak.

Of course, innovation is not so easy. Just like the PHS mobile phone, how could it be innovated just by saying so?
Regardless, Japan has already begun to take advantage of the yen's appreciation to carry out sweeping industrial restructuring in order to avoid an overly unilateral economic model.

In addition to their core business in Japan, companies like Toshiba should expand internationally and compete with other companies on the global stage.

"Is everything alright now?"

Having talked this far, Wang Duoyu thought he had solved the problem between Liu Deben and the other man, but little did he know that he hadn't, because there were still many things to do.

It wasn't until half an hour later that Wang Duoyu finally walked out of the secretary's office.

When he returned to the teachers' villa area, Wang Junhong and the others, who were playing and frolicking inside, all exclaimed in surprise.

"Dad (Uncle)!"

Li Rongrong, Lu Yuening, Xue Wenbin and the others were all there, so a bunch of little kids gathered here, making it quite lively, and when they shouted, they did so in perfect unison.

The two sisters, Wang Meili and Wang Meihe, were also there. Although they hadn't given birth yet, their bellies were already quite showing.

In early May, Wang Duoyu learned that the two sisters were pregnant; one was five and a half weeks along and the other was eight weeks along.

Based on this timeline, the two sisters' due dates should be December and January, respectively. Of course, the timing may vary if it is a full-term pregnancy or a miscarriage.

"Brother, you've been traveling for two months, it must have been great! How's it on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau? I heard it's oxygen-deficient there, did you get oxygen-deficient?"

As soon as they entered the house, Wang Duoyu was carrying a child in each arm and another on his shoulder. The little kids were like ornaments, hanging all over Wang Duoyu. Then his two sisters asked him questions.

After putting Lu Yuening and her sister down, Wang Duoyu continued to hold Wang Jun'an, patted Wang Junhong's head, and then said with a smile:

"I definitely won't experience oxygen deficiency. I did a lot of research beforehand, and I didn't go by plane, so my body needs time to adapt."

“The ALD area is a high-altitude region, where not only is there a lack of oxygen, but when we arrived there, the mountains were almost completely closed off by heavy snow, so I didn’t stay long and left before the mountains were completely closed off.”

"Fortunately, before I left, I finally managed to hunt a snow leopard. You've probably never seen a snow leopard pelt before. I've brought it back, but it's not completely tanned yet. Once it's tanned, I can take it home."

Wang Duoyu and his group had hunted a snow leopard the day before leaving the ALD area, and after returning to the camp, they began a simple tanning process.

Then we left the Ali camp the next day. We didn't have much of a chance to deal with this stuff along the way. Now that we're back at Harbin Institute of Technology, we can finally get the final tanning process done.

Once it's tanned, you can hang it on the wall at home.

snow leopard?

Liu Xiaoli and the others were all very surprised; they had actually run into Wang Duoyu.

Meanwhile, the kids like Wang Junhong were clamoring to see it, but they couldn't, because Wang Duoyu didn't bring it back. Instead, Yuan Zuliang and the others sent it to an outside factory for tanning.

In addition to bringing back snow leopard skins, Wang Duoyu also brought back many specialties from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region, such as highland barley wine, butter tea, dried beef, and yogurt.

For kids like Wang Junhong and Li Rongrong, the best food and drinks would be old-fashioned yogurt, butter tea, and dried beef.

Barley wine is alcohol, not suitable for these little guys.

Even Wang Duoyu would only keep two bottles at most; he would give away the rest of the barley wine.

There were so many people around him, including so many relatives from the Wang family alone. The barley wine he brought back wasn't even enough to give away.

The very next day, Wang Duoyu was already busy.

He was free for two months, but he accumulated quite a bit of work.

No matter how busy he was, on the third day after he returned, he held a monthly mathematics exchange meeting in the lecture hall of the mathematics department building.

On the platform, Wang Duoyu looked at the crowd before him and suddenly said:
"Wow, there are a lot of new faces here."

Today's math sharing session was held earlier because Shing-Tung Yau and his team persuaded Wang Duoyu to move it forward; otherwise, he would have declined.

Only now did Wang Duoyu realize that Harbin Institute of Technology had many new faces, probably all newcomers from outside the university.

The proportion of foreigners among the faculty and researchers in the Department of Mathematics at Harbin Institute of Technology is very high.

Even among Wang Duoyu's student members, the proportion of foreigners is quite high.

Of the ten students, six—Yorkz, Bocherz, Maxim, McMallan, Gould, and Hino Yasuhito—are foreign students, while only Yang Nianzhen, Rong Guangxia, Gao Huajian, and Wei Jiahong are not.

There's no other way; if the mathematics department at Harbin Institute of Technology wants to develop, this is the only option.

The fact that Harbin Institute of Technology can attract so many foreign students to study here demonstrates its inclusiveness.

So, being one of the seven sons of national defense doesn't seem so suitable anymore.

Harbin Institute of Technology should be gradually transformed into an engineering university like Tsinghua University, rather than a defense university.

However, Harbin Institute of Technology will not allow foreigners to participate in its aerospace, missile, and other related majors at present.

However, regardless of the circumstances, we still need to do better in terms of maintaining secrecy.

In today's monthly math sharing session, Wang Duoyu talked more about the Langlands Program, because it's a very popular topic right now.

Thanks to him, the Langlands program has become increasingly popular since his report in May this year, after he proved the fundamental lemma, the geometric Langlands conjecture, and the reciprocity law conjecture.

This is because there are still many mathematical problems standing in the way of the Langlands program, such as the famous functor conjecture.

Take the L-function as an example. The L-function can be said to be the central research object of the Langlands program, in which the Riemann hypothesis and the BSD conjecture are about the L-function.

Therefore, it is clear from this that promoting the development of the Langlands Programme is indeed very difficult.

Over the past two months, influenced by Wang Duoyu, Langlands and his team have also observed that the generalization of the Dirichlet function may generalize the Artin reciprocal law.

Wang Duoyu did not attend the math sharing session in October, but Langlands had already discussed this point during that session.

Furthermore, Langlands applied Heck's theory to automorphic cusp representations, paired automorphic representations with L-functions, and proposed the reciprocal conjecture.

The so-called reciprocal conjecture states that the Artin L-function of every finite-dimensional representation of the Galois group from a given number field is equivalent to some L-function from an automorphic cusp representation.

To establish one-to-one correspondences, we must consider an appropriate extension of the Galois group, called the Weil-Delineate group.

Yes, thanks to the contributions of André Veil and Pierre-Derlig.

Let's not even talk about Andre Weil; the old man is still alive and well, working as a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Even though he has reached retirement age, he hasn't retired yet.

Pierre Deligne goes without saying; he was a student of Alexander Grothendieck and a super mathematical genius.

Langlands argues that, in the commutative case, this is equivalent to generalizing the Dirichlet features to Heck features, since the reciprocal conjecture implies the Artin conjecture.

Thus, the Langlands program gained two more mathematical problems.

First solve the Artin conjecture, then solve the reciprocal conjecture.

The more problems that need to be solved, the more excited mathematical researchers become.

Everyone wanted to contribute and compete with Wang Duoyu, the math emperor.

Perhaps Wang Duoyu can solve those very difficult mathematical problems, such as the Riemann Hypothesis, the functor conjecture, and the BSD conjecture.

Then others can help solve some mathematical problems similar to the Artin conjecture, or even simpler ones that Wang Duoyu has overlooked.

This is one of the reasons why Wang Duoyu saw so many new faces today. The Langlands Theory has become a hot topic, and he is currently the biggest contributor to the Langlands Theory, so of course he should come and listen to his sharing.

After finishing his sharing session, Wang Duoyu left.

He didn't continue communicating with John Milnor and the others; instead, he needed to finish his work, as there was too much backlog.

In the office of the Dawning Supercomputing Project R&D Center in the experimental building, Wang Duoyu, dressed in protective clothing, walked in. Ci Yungui, Pang Dianchen, and others were there, and they gathered around Wang Duoyu to give a work report, which alone took more than two hours.

It took Wang Duoyu two days to finish these tasks.

It's not that he can't go fast, but that Ci Yungui and the others can't go fast.

The current Dawning supercomputer, with its gigabit floating-point operation speed, has extremely high technical requirements. In addition, the application programs and system programs alone require a large number of people to complete the code editing.

Even so, it's only because all the code is in Chinese; otherwise, if it were in English, the workload would be even more terrifying.

The Nuwa system needs to be upgraded, and that can't be done simply by saying so.

Back in January of the year before last, when the Nebula supercomputing project was first established, the software and hardware departments together only had 158 people in total.

But now, the software department alone requires nearly two hundred people to complete the task.

This is the difference!
The quality gap between the Dawning supercomputer and the Nebula supercomputer is not just a difference in the level of researchers, but also a difference in research and development funding, technical difficulty, and other aspects.

After spending two days completing his work, Wang Duoyu then turned his attention to the turbine-based combined cycle engine project.

However, Xu Yimin and his group took him to a secret base in the suburbs, which was a wind tunnel laboratory under construction.

At the beginning of this year, to be precise, in February, Wang Duoyu talked with Liu Deben and others about building a large-scale wind tunnel laboratory.

Harbin Institute of Technology emphasizes efficiency in everything it does. In just over half a year, with sufficient funding, it was indeed quickly established, although it is not yet fully completed.

"Professor Wang, this is the subsonic ramjet engine we developed earlier. It officially began various tests in late October."

Xu Yimin stood outside the laboratory and looked through the glass window at the engine inside.

After three years, Wang Duoyu finally saw the ramjet engine that belonged to their Harbin Institute of Technology.

Although the theory behind this engine is simple, the technical difficulty is indeed quite complex.

"Since you mentioned the technical challenges of flame stabilizers when the turbine-based combined cycle engine project was established, we will conduct relevant tests here in the laboratory to complete data testing of technologies such as concave cavity, distributed ignition, and shock wave focusing effect."

Upon hearing this, Wang Duoyu nodded slightly and then pointed out the key points.

In the simulation experiments of computational fluid dynamics simulation software, Wang Duoyu and his team have perfected technologies such as shock wave focusing effect. It can be said that, in the area of flame stabilizers alone, Wang Duoyu and his team are at the forefront of the world.

In today's global aero-engine industry, many of the technologies contained in Wang Duoyu's sub-gas ramjet engine are actually cutting-edge technologies.

If it can successfully pass the wind tunnel test and be fully completed in the subsequent aircraft test flights, that would be awesome.

Unfortunately, wind tunnel testing alone takes an extremely long time. Moreover, aircraft based on subsonic ramjet engines cannot start at zero speed, and the problem of thrust traps makes test flights a luxury.

Therefore, Wang Duoyu and his team could only pin their hopes on the current combined cycle engine, hoping that the project could smoothly solve these two major problems and successfully pass wind tunnel experiments and flight tests.

Wang Duoyu spent a day in the wind tunnel laboratory, discussing and solving many problems with Xu Yimin and others.

However, he still needs to stay in the combined cycle engine project department for the next few days, as there are still many issues to be discussed and resolved.

Several more days passed, and it was already December 1st, but Wang Duoyu still had no free time.

Sure enough, Yu Zhengze came looking for him.

As the director of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology, Yu Zhengze has many projects on his hands. For example, today he mentioned a fiber optic communication project to Wang Duoyu.

The main reason is that Yu Zhengze and his team, together with the neighboring Department of Electronic Science and Technology, achieved a breakthrough in optical fiber material technology. They used plasma spraying technology, commercially viable erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and other technologies to produce full-wavelength optical fiber.

The so-called full-wave optical fiber is actually a type of G.652. Compared with conventional G.652 optical fiber, the difference is that full-wave optical fiber uses a new generation of optical manufacturing technology to eliminate the high absorption peak caused by the presence of OH ions near the 1.38-micron wavelength in conventional G.652 optical fiber. This reduces the transmission loss of optical fiber in this band to about 0.3 dB/μm, making it a 'new window' for optical fiber communication.

Its features include large transmission capacity, high signal quality and temperature stability, low loss and high bandwidth, and it performs well in applications such as oilfield exploration, structural monitoring of large engineering structures, and air quality monitoring.

Because of its high sensitivity and wide measurement range, full-wave optical fiber has a significant advantage in real-time monitoring and data analysis.

Therefore, Yu Zhengze discussed with Wang Duoyu whether such high-quality full-wave optical fiber should be promoted worldwide.

"No, not yet!"

Wang Duoyu shook his head and refused.

According to the original timeline, this thing is not going to appear anytime soon. Even if Harbin Institute of Technology launches full-wave optical fiber now, it won't have much of an impact on the global optical cable market.

While countries like Japan, the United States, and Europe have a strong demand for fiber optic cables, they certainly wouldn't be willing to buy them if the price were too high.

However, if the price is too low, it will not be conducive to earning foreign exchange. In that case, it would be better to stop for a while.

In any case, Harbin Institute of Technology's first department does not need to make money from full-wave optical fiber for the time being. On the contrary, if it is launched ahead of time, it will further intensify the competition in the optical cable market and promote the development of related technologies and economies abroad.

As mentioned earlier, full-wave optical fiber performs exceptionally well in fields such as oilfield exploration.

"This full-wave optical fiber should not be released to the public for now. It should be given to the military first, and it will definitely be useful for other major domestic projects, such as the Three Gorges Dam project."

"In addition, it can also be used in our large optical telescope project."

"By the way, I'll have Want Want Group talk to you in a few days. You can discuss building a fiber optic cable line from our school to Want Want Group then."

In fact, Wang Duoyu also wanted to build a fiber optic cable from Harbin Institute of Technology to Beijing, but this required negotiations with Beijing authorities on how to fund the project and how to proceed. These were all major issues.

In short, we should first promote progress in this area, and the higher-ups will help arrange the specifics of how to proceed.

Full-wave optical fiber is already available, so there's no reason why we shouldn't know how to use it.

"In addition, if possible, we will build another single-mode fiber optic cable from Harbin Institute of Technology to Dahonggou Village, funded by Want Want Group."

Upon hearing this, Yu Zhengze was speechless with astonishment.

Goodness, is this really that extravagant?

Because it's more than 400 kilometers from Harbin Institute of Technology to Dahonggou Village, which is very far, laying this optical cable is certainly not a simple task.

Even if it's not full-wave fiber, but just regular G.652 single-mode fiber, it's not cheap to manufacture.

Is it worth the 400-kilometer distance just to achieve communication?
Wang Duoyu didn't care about whether it was worth it or not; he was going to lay fiber optic cables sooner or later, so why not do it sooner?

There's a saying: "Buy early, enjoy early."

Moreover, Want Want Group made a lot of money this year not from the profits of those products, but rather from the appreciation of the yen.

Now that I have money, I'd feel absolutely uncomfortable if I didn't spend it.

There is a large amount of RMB in China. Even if it costs tens of millions to lay a fiber optic cable, it is not a big deal for Want Want Group. Moreover, a fiber optic cable composed of conventional G.652 optical fibers for more than 400 kilometers does not need to cost tens of millions of RMB. At most, it will cost around ten million RMB.

After finalizing the matter, Yu Zhengze left with mixed feelings.

After watching the other person leave, Wang Duoyu continued with his work.

By December 6th, he finally had some free time.

"Dad, can we go to the zoo today?"

When Wang Duoyu arrived home in the evening, he had just stepped into the living room when the little guy, Wang Junhong, rushed up to him and asked him something.

"Okay!"

He also needed to go out for a walk and relax a bit.

It's important to balance work and rest; you can't always be tense.

The little guy never expected his father to agree so readily, and he immediately cheered.

Wang Junan, Li Rongrong, and Lu Yuening also jumped up and down, beaming with joy.

As children grow up, they develop their own ideas and their curiosity about the world grows stronger.

Especially Wang Junhong, who is about to turn five years old. He is already 1.2 meters tall, and he will need to buy a ticket to take the train.

This is definitely due to his father's height, and of course, it's also because the little guy has been well-nourished since he was a child and especially loves to exercise. Because he's mischievous, his body absorbs nutrients very well.

When it comes to sports, little Wang Junhong is just like his father was when he was a child.

When Wang Duoyu was little, he often went out with his relatives to climb trees to steal bird nests, go down to the river to catch fish, and chase rabbits and mice. In winter, he would also run outside to play, build snowmen, and go ice skating.

In short, the amount of time spent staying at home without moving throughout the year is very, very little.

The next day, Wang Duoyu took Liu Xiaoli and the other children to the zoo.

His two younger sisters, who were close to their due dates, did not go with him. Even his two brothers-in-law, Lu Qingsong and Li Yuanchao, returned from Tokyo and did not stay there any longer.

After returning from the zoo, the next day was the 8th, which was Wang Junhong's birthday.

Just like every year, I celebrated my birthday at home.

"Mom and Dad, why don't you celebrate your birthdays?"

After eating the cake, Wang Junhong suddenly had a change of heart and questioned his father and Liu Xiaoli.

Is this question even necessary?
Adults don't like celebrating their birthdays because it's like being reminded by everyone that they've gotten another year older.

For example, Wang Duoyu, it will soon be 1986, which means he will be thirty years old.

It is said that one should be established by the age of thirty. Although he has achieved success in both family and career, he has few regrets in his life.

But being thirty years old means that he has already lived more than half of his life, and his childhood and youth are over.

So what kind of birthday should we celebrate at this time?

What's so good about it?
As for Liu Xiaoli, she said with a smile:

"Your birthdays are the days of suffering for us mothers. Although it was hard to give birth to you, we are also happy to see you grow up happily."

"The reason I don't want to celebrate my birthday is because I'm an adult. Unlike you guys, I don't get so many gifts every time I have a birthday."

Wang Junhong immediately said, "Mom, what's your birthday? I'll give you a gift then, and my brother will give you a gift too, and so will my sister and the others."

The three little ones, Wang Jun'an, Li Rongrong, and Lu Yuening, who were being 'morally blackmailed,' didn't feel kidnapped at all. Instead, they nodded happily and said they would definitely deliver the gift.

But the next second, Wang Jun'an suddenly asked:
"Brother, what gift should we give Mom?"

The little one is still a month shy of two years old and doesn't quite understand things yet, so he asks all sorts of questions.

“Of course we’ll send flowers, Auntie loves flowers,” Xue Wenbin suddenly interjected.

The little kids clapped their hands and nodded repeatedly.

Liu Xiaoli was overjoyed; the title "Auntie" made her very happy.

Even though she and Wang Duoyu didn't get a marriage certificate, what does it matter?

In the long run, whether or not you get a marriage certificate becomes irrelevant.

Wang Duoyu wouldn't look for someone outside; on the contrary, all of Wang's relatives recognized her as Liu Xiaoli, and even the little kids like Wang Jun'an and Wang Junhong called her "Mom."

As Zhu Ling appears less and less in public, and as time goes by, her presence in the public eye has become increasingly faint.

Watching the little kids' conversation, Wang Duoyu said to the little guy instead:
"Now that we've had the cake, it's almost time to open the presents. Open yours and see what everyone prepared for you."

Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaoli suddenly laughed and then gave Wang Duoyu a disapproving look, as if to say, "What if the child cries later and you have to come and comfort him?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Junhong jumped up with joy and began to unwrap the gifts.

As a result, he was the first to open the gift his father had given him, but Wang Duoyu stopped him.

After all, the little one needs to be happy first; the surprise should be saved for last.

Upon hearing this, Wang Meili and the others felt something was off. This was different from previous years. Was there something strange about the gift?
Of course, otherwise Wang Duoyu wouldn't have stopped the little guy like that.

It was obvious that the gift Wang Duoyu gave was extraordinary.

"Okay, let's open the gift Mom gave us first."

Wang Junhong didn't think anything of it; on the contrary, he was even more looking forward to the gift his father would give him.

Because his father did indeed send a very, very big gift; in fact, when it was delivered, it required a small cart to carry it over.

The gift Liu Xiaoli gave was nothing special; it was just gloves she had knitted herself.

After unwrapping the gift, Wang Duoyu even took a picture to record the moment.

Many times throughout the year, such as birthdays, Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, etc., I record them with videos and photos, so that I can look back on them later.

"thanks Mom!"

The little kid was content and happy.

Actually, he doesn't have many requirements for gifts; the key is who gives them to him.

Many gifts are books, gloves, scarves, and clothes.

Since they were all gifts from relatives, Wang Duoyu didn't ask Liu Deben and other leaders to deliver them.

If they do this every year, won't Liu Deben and his team be working themselves to death?

Let's just skip all that.

After a while, he finally finished unwrapping all the gifts from his relatives, and it was time for the last one, which was the gift from his father.

At this moment, everyone was quite expectant. Wang Duoyu took out his camera, aimed it at the little guy's face, and prepared to record the little brat's classic textbook-like face-changing.

Wow!
After unwrapping the first layer of packaging paper, Wang Junhong's smile froze.

Because beneath the exquisite and beautiful wrapping paper was a metal box, and on top of that was a small box.

why?
The metal box was locked with dozens of small locks, and the keys were inside the small box.

puff!

Liu Xiaoli was the first to burst out laughing.

Wang Meili and other relatives also burst into laughter, and several of them even laughed until tears streamed down their faces.

Only Wang Junhong looked distressed. "Dad, can I use a chainsaw to cut it open?"

"Sure, but don't blame me if you ruin the gifts inside," Wang Duoyu said with a straight face, spouting nonsense.

The little kid was able to think of using a chainsaw to cut open the metal box because he had seen such tools many times before.

For example, when the neighbors next door were renovating, the little ones visited and asked what the chainsaw was used for.

In order not to damage the gifts inside the tin box, the little guy could only grimace as he searched for the keys one by one and opened the locks.

"Dad, this is so hard!"

Children don't have much patience to begin with, and now it's all gone. They've broken down and are crying their hearts out.
