Chapter 996 The Connection Between the Dust Fairy and Dreams

Dreams are a very profound thing in the DC Universe, so it's no wonder Morpheus was curious about Yang Le.

So Yang Le explained to him the race of the Dust Fairy and made it clear that this race came from outside the 'wall'.

This resolved Morpheus's doubts, and the Dream Lord, in high spirits, invited Yang Le to his castle for a talk, but Yang Le declined, citing other commitments.

"Want to see how your adopted daughter is doing in your dreams? That's certainly a good option."

Morpheus agreed with Yang Le's idea; this was indeed one of the wonderful uses of dreams. People in the virtual world were stronger and more real than those in the real world, and they could do whatever they wanted here.

“Then you should come with me,” Morpheus invited again. “I have something here that can help you accomplish this more easily.”

This piqued Yang Le's interest, so he accepted Morpheus's invitation. Morpheus didn't delay, and at Morpheus's prompting, the world changed once again.

The black and white world around me began to transform. No matter how big or small the object was, it eventually became tiny lines, and these lines eventually formed bookshelves.

There were so many bookshelves that they were impossible to count. Yang Le looked around and realized that they seemed to be in a three-story building, where every inch of the building was filled with bookshelves of all colors.

Morpheus waved his hand gently, and the bookshelves began to move like gears. After a short wait, one of the bookshelves finally stopped within Morpheus's reach.

Morpheus lightly tapped the spine of the book with his index finger, and after passing through two bookshelves, it finally stopped on a book with a red cover.

Morpheus gently pulled the book from the shelf and handed it to Yang Le, his meaning clear: he wanted Yang Le to take a look at the book.

Yang Le took the red book and habitually glanced at its title.

"Kassandra Cain, what is this?"

“All of your adopted daughter’s thoughts are in this book,” Morpheus explained, then spread his arms wide.

"This is my library. It contains all the published, unpublished, and future texts in the universe, as well as texts that simply exist in other minds. Whatever you can think of, I can find it here."

As he spoke, Morpheus took out several books that were out of print in human history and placed them in front of Yang Le for him to browse. Then he took out many books with titles by well-known human figures and explained that they contained all the things they had thought about in their lives.

“Generally speaking, no one but me is allowed to enter this library.” Seeing that Yang Le wasn’t interested, Morpheus put the books back on the shelves one by one, leaving only one copy of “Cassandra”.

"However, because you have some connection to my dreams, I was able to bring you here without any reservations."

"I have some connection with dreams? What do you mean?"

Faced with Yang Le's confusion, Morpheus patiently explained things to him, just like a teacher.

"It seems you haven't realized that after you became like this in this universe, your abilities are far more complex than they were at the beginning."

Morpheus pointed his index finger at the dust that had unconsciously fallen onto the Dust Fairy.

"You have actually begun to connect with the dream of this universe. Why don't you try the simplest thing: draw energy from your dreams?" "Relax and don't feel like you are relying on external things. You should take all of this for granted, just like human excretion, it is a physiological thing."

Morpheus's words were not very elegant, but they were certainly easy to understand, and Yang Le understood what he was trying to say.

Under Morpheus's guidance, Yang Le began to open his arms to everything around him. With his unconscious acquiescence, the dream seemed to be more tolerant of him, and Yang Le felt more at ease.

“That’s because this place originally belonged to me.” Morpheus casually drew a line, and an extremely abstract little dog appeared out of thin air in front of the two of them, and it really came to life.

"Wang Wang Wang!"

"Although you are qualified to enter here and can control other people's dreams, you are insignificant in the face of true dreams and have no right to interfere here."

"But things are different now. You have become part of the dream. I believe that after I die, you will be qualified to take over and become the next dream."

"Death...?"

The death of the DC Universe is inevitable. Everything in this universe, except for death itself, will come to an end one day, and death will continue until the day the universe is laid to rest.

This is why Death is mentioned earlier as the most special. Even if ranked solely by strength, Death is in a class of its own within the entire Endless family. However, Death herself is a gentle older sister with a gothic style, which can only be described as creating a strong sense of contrast.

"It's nothing." Morpheus seemed completely unconcerned, as if he weren't the person being discussed.

"Everyone will face this day eventually, especially since the person who is guiding me is my sister. It's just that that day is still a long way off."

Morpheus then changed the subject, his tone becoming somewhat playful.

“If you don’t use the power of dreams, I will definitely outlive you, even if you have such high purity N metal.”

Yang Le believed this to be true; the Endless Family was like this in all of them. Unless they themselves had this idea, it was basically impossible for them to wait until they died of old age.

Perhaps Morpheus will be hiding in his library, living a life of boredom until the human race disappears from the annals of history.

"Then I guess you won't live to see me take over." Yang Le chuckled. "I can only use the power of dreams in this state. After I turn back, I'm just an ordinary human being."

“You still don’t understand.” Morpheus shook his head. “Concepts are never about the physical body or other vulgar external things. Once you are connected with dreams, as long as you are still you, you can use its power.”

Yang Le was stunned. This was beyond his imagination. Until just now, he thought that the power of the dream was a trial card exclusively for the Dust Fairy, which was why he hadn't paid much attention or been surprised.

“However…” Morpheus changed the subject. “Once you turn back into a human, your compatibility with dreams won’t be as high, so the power you can wield will be very limited. At most, you can only modify some insignificant aspects of reality, or make it easier for others to fall asleep and have good dreams.”

Morpheus snapped his fingers, and a glass of red wine appeared in his hand. He teased with a sly smile.

"However, there's no problem in pretending to be the God in the Bible who conjured up wine and bread."
