Chapter 5
"Thank you so much for your help, sir." Gwen supported Peter and thanked Yang Le.

"Thank you." Peter gently broke free from Gwen's support and thanked Yang Le while holding up his glasses with one leg broken. He didn't care how much he was injured, but if Gwen was injured because of him, he would probably feel guilty to death.

"Sir? That's too old-fashioned a title." Yang Le stood up from Larry and the other two who were stacked together as chairs.

"I'm only eighteen. How old are you two? I'm sorry I can never judge white people's ages accurately."

"15, Peter and I are both. I'm sorry I didn't realize you were only three years older than us. After all, I'm not very good at guessing the ages of Asian people."

Gwen responded to Yang Le with Yang Le's words, but Yang Le didn't care. He just thought that this girl was very interesting, a little strong, and a little cute, and it was very fun to talk to her.

"Yang Le, I'm from China, nice to meet you." Yang Le extended his hand and introduced himself.

"Gwen, Gwen Stacy." Seeing the other party extending her hand, Gwen did not hesitate. She extended her hand and shook it politely, then took her hand back.

Yang Le raised an eyebrow when he heard Gwen's name. Gwen Stacy, that was a household name. Anyone who read American comics would probably know her. So, the timid boy next to her must be...

"Peter, Peter Parker, thank you again for your help." Peter shook hands with Yang Le a little awkwardly. Peter wanted to show more enthusiasm, but he was afraid of annoying Yang Le, so he just shook hands and let go.

"Wow! I was wrong just now. This is what we call thunder." Yang Le's chest was filled with thunder, but his face remained calm. Spider-Man was his favorite American comic hero, and he felt like a fan meeting his idol, excited.

But Peter didn't seem to have been bitten by the spider yet. Yang Le felt it when shaking hands with him. He was too thin and his wrists were too thin. He couldn't feel any strength at all.

In order to get more information, Yang Le decided to get close to Peter and the others.

Yang Le was just wondering how to start when he saw Peter's broken glasses.

"Are your glasses broken?" Yang Le asked knowingly.

"Yes, I fell just now, and it might have been broken then." Because the leg of his glasses was broken, Peter had to hold on to it with his hand all the time. After all, he was severely myopic and couldn't see clearly without glasses.

"Just go back and tell my family to buy a new pair." Peter's smile was a little forced. After all, his family was not rich, and this unnecessary expense made him very uncomfortable.

Gwen looked at Peter worriedly. He knew the Parker family's financial situation. She was considering whether to go home and ask her father to help pay the bill.

"Then follow me." Yang Le said and took the lead to walk out of the alley.

"Excuse me, where are you going?" Gwen asked.

"Take the guy next to you to get a new pair of glasses."

"This, how can this be? Sir, you don't have to pay this money for me." Peter looked at Yang Le who was about to reach the alley entrance in panic.

Yang Le walked to the alley and found that neither of them had caught up with him. He turned back to look at Peter helplessly.

"Oh~" Yang Le sighed, then turned and walked to Larry and the other two who were lying on the ground.

Larry and his friends had actually woken up a long time ago, but they kept pretending to be asleep because they were afraid that Yang Le would beat them again.

Larry, who had his eyes closed, heard footsteps coming towards him. When the footsteps stopped, he felt a sharp pain in his scalp, and then his head was forced up.

Yang Le looked at Larry, who was still pretending to sleep, and gave him a slap on the face. "Brother, let's talk it over. Let's talk it over." Larry, who had been slapped, stopped pretending to sleep and begged for mercy.

"Listen carefully, kid. Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy will be my friends from now on. If you dare to cause trouble for them again, I will come after you again." Yang Le said this, but his hands were not idle either. He slapped Larry in the face every time he said something.

"I got it. I won't appear in Peter and the others' sight anymore. Please spare me, woooo." Larry was beaten to tears. He begged for mercy with a swollen face. The two followers didn't even dare to raise their heads. They could only pretend to be dead and pray that Yang Le would not think of them.

"Mr. Yang Le, forget it, just forgive him." Peter said with reluctance as he looked at Larry who was beaten and crying.

In fact, Gwen also wanted to stop it, but after all, Peter was the victim all along. Gwen felt that she could not spare Larry for Peter, so she did not speak.

After hearing Peter's plea, Yang Le finally let go of Larry's hair.

"You should be thankful that Peter pleaded for you, otherwise, huh!" After saying that, Larry stood up without even wiping his tears and looked at Peter.

"Let's go, we are friends now, friends should help each other, right?"

"But…"

"It's nothing. I'll help you deal with that thug now. As long as we get him a pair of similar glasses, you can pretend you just fell off your bike and go home. This way, your family won't worry. Is there a better ending than this?"

Yang Le's words hit Peter's soft spot. The money for the glasses was not the only important thing. The most important thing was that he didn't want Uncle Ben and Aunt May to worry.

Seeing Peter still hesitating, Yang Le walked up to him, took Peter's hand and left.

"Okay, instead of thinking about it, why not just do it first? At worst, I'll just lend it to you and you can just pay me back later."

"Then...it's agreed that I will save up money to pay you back."

Peter originally wanted to struggle, but he made up his mind after hearing what Yang Le said. However, he repeatedly told Yang Le that he was only lending him money and he would definitely pay it back in the future.

"Hey, have you two forgotten about me?" Gwen looked at the two people who had reached a consensus, picked up her bag and followed them.

"I'm sorry, Gwen, it's just that Mr. Yang Le held my hand." Peter explained. Yang Le was too strong and he couldn't resist at all.

"Mr. Peter, you have always been too polite. What have I done to make you disrespect me, my friend, so much?" Yang Le said dissatisfiedly.

"Oh no! The Godfather is too old-fashioned. Young people nowadays wouldn't play those jokes, old man." Gwen interrupted before Peter could speak.

Gwen knew that Peter was actually very reserved. As long as they were familiar with each other, he would be able to respond to anything you said. However, Peter and Yang Le were not familiar with each other yet. If Peter was with someone he was not familiar with, he would probably make a mess of things, so Gwen could only answer for him first.

"Oh, you have to understand, this is the most fashionable foreign meme that conservative Chinese people can come up with, Miss Trendsetter."

"Oh, come on! Tide-riding is also outdated."

Peter stared blankly at the two people who were talking fluently, feeling like he was the newcomer they had just met today.
