Chapter 1321
Yang Le recalled discussing a topic with someone he knew about American comics.
That is, many American comic book characters are like dragons in Western fantasy stories, they can be said to be full of treasures.
The Joker was one of them. Originally, he was supposed to be just a high-IQ villain with no special abilities, who would be a perfect match for Batman.
However, as time went on, the Joker also gained many special abilities.
First, there's the unanswerable question, which even the omniscient Möbius chair can't provide a definitive answer to. Second, there's the main reason the Joker has been able to live so long.
The Joker possesses an element that is very important in the DC Universe, known as the Dionysian Factor, which is essentially a green liquid metal.
Dionysus Factor, like N Metal and Amber Gold, is known as a core metal of the DC Universe, and like its colleagues, it has the ability to turn the rotten into the miraculous.
The Dionysian Factor represents the Earth's restorative power. Once a living organism injects it into its body, it will not only avoid heavy metal poisoning but also gain the ability to live forever.
Most of the long-lived people on Earth have some connection to the Dionysian factor, such as Vandal Savage and Rashoe Gu.
Lei Xiaogu's Lazarus Pool is actually a pool of Dionysus factor, but the purity is not high.
In the comics, the Joker possesses the purest Dionysus factor known on Earth, which is one of the reasons why he can still be alive and kicking despite having done many dangerous things.
However, the Dionysian factor only takes effect when the host is harmed. Normally, the Dionysian factor is latent and cannot be detected by any known human means, whether magic or science.
Of course, having said all that, currently only the Joker in the main universe is related to the Dionysian Factor; there is no clear evidence to suggest that the Jokers in other parallel universes are related to it.
After all, there are quite a few Jokers who have died in other parallel universes.
Based on the principle that since the clown is already dead, there's no point in wasting his life, Yang Le decided to take the clown's body back for an autopsy to see if he could find the legendary Dionysus factor.
However, Yang Le himself didn't hold out much hope, since about five minutes had passed since the clown lost vital signs and his body still showed no signs of life.
Normally, the Dionysus factor should gradually be activated from its latent state after the host suffers a fatal injury; even if the reaction is slow, it shouldn't be completely absent.
Moreover, the injuries Batman had inflicted on the Joker's body earlier had not healed; it remained exactly the same.
It seems that Yang Le's plan is destined to fail.
The synthetic gel was used to encase the clown's corpse. Yang Le wanted to try one last time, so he left the corpse for three days. If there was still no reaction, he would then refine it into ashes.
"Don't do it. Although I've already disinfected it, it's better to be careful."
Yang Le refused Roy's offer to help and carried the clown's body to the trunk of the car by himself.
Although Puba is weak in melee combat, he is actually quite strong, given his size.
The reason why hand-to-hand combat became his weakness was because Pu Ba's agility was too low. While others were throwing a combination of punches, Pu Ba might have only managed to throw two punches.
Yang Le had no intention of enhancing Pupba's melee abilities; that would be pointless. Each alien hero possessed their own unique talents, and Pupba was already powerful enough on his own. If used properly, he might not be inferior to the three Egyptian Gods. Besides, there were many alien heroes in Omnitrix with formidable fighting skills. Being able to utilize all the alien heroes flexibly was what a qualified psychic wearer should do.
"We look like criminals trying to destroy the world."
Roy looked at the scene before him and complained.
“There is still a fundamental difference.” Yang Le threw the clown’s body into the trunk and then slammed it shut.
"After all, we are doing the right thing."
After saying that, Yang Le walked over to the unconscious Harley Quinn and sprayed a ball of gel to wrap her up. However, unlike the Joker who had turned into a corpse, Yang Le left her with air holes.
However, only the nostrils were left open for ventilation; the mouth and eyes were covered to prevent Harley Quinn from waking up and howling like a banshee.
"What? Aren't you going to kill her?"
Roy watched as Yang Le tossed the Harley Quinn, who was slumped like a silkworm in a cocoon, onto the back seat of the car, and asked curiously.
He didn't think Yang Le was a lecherous person and wouldn't let Harley Quinn off the hook just because she was a woman, even though she was indeed very beautiful after removing her colorful clown makeup.
"Keeping her around is useful for now, and I don't want you to get lost in the killing."
After Yang Le finished doing all this, he deactivated his transformation and returned to human form. He then said, "Once you get used to solving problems with killing, your mindset will be fixed. No matter what problem you encounter, you will choose to deal with the person who caused the problem first."
"That's too extreme. One day you'll become no different from the people you initially swore to kill."
Roy seemed to be thinking. He felt that Yang Le's words made some sense, and decided to hold off on taking Harley Quinn's life for the time being, since she was not on his kill list.
Who's on Roy's kill list? There are too many. Almost every famous supervillain is on his list.
However, there are a few key figures on this large list, such as the members of the Illuminati.
Vandal Savage, Lex Luthor, Queen Bee, and others—these are the culprits who turned his life upside down, and they are all people he must get rid of.
"I think you'd better set some rules for yourself, such as only killing one supervillain a day under normal circumstances. After all, nothing can be accomplished without rules."
Yang Le and Roy got back into the car, with the former offering the latter some advice.
"Of course, with your current strength, you probably can't kill a super criminal every day. You should think about what your next target should be."
"Don't be too ambitious. Although you killed the Joker, a big fish, right after you debuted, it's only because you had advantages in many aspects."
"The Joker was at his weakest point, and he didn't even know you existed as an enemy. Plus, I provided you with help. All these factors combined led to this success."
"The Joker's death will definitely cause a huge uproar in both the underworld and the legitimate world. If those supervillains know that there is someone who has disrupted the balance, they will be on high alert. You won't be able to succeed so easily from now on."
