Chapter 1210 Hehe, I must survive!

With a completely hairless, yellow face, there aren't many characters in the DC Universe with such a distinctive feature, and the most famous one of them is the guy in front of us.

Mongo is actually a rather interesting character, especially referring to his creative process.

In 1970, Darkseid, one of the most iconic villains in the DC Universe, made his debut in the comics, marking the great success of this enduring and classic villain.

Not to be outdone, Marvel introduced its own classic villain, Thanos, in 1973.

These two similar classic characters are often compared, but looking at the timeline reveals which one borrowed from the other.

As the saying goes, "Great writings are often just plagiarisms," and plagiarism can lead to improvement. After Thanos's great success, DC claimed to have more masters and quickly introduced its own classic villain that borrowed from Thanos.

Warlord Mongo, however, Thanos and Mongo were actually created by the same person, both by the famous cartoonist Jim Stalin.

This is... this is me copying myself.

These three nested characters, look behind you, and look behind you again, are surprisingly consistent in their basic settings, which is not surprising. They are basically just related settings with different names.

You can tell them by their appearance: black sweet potato (Darkseid), purple sweet potato (Thanos), and yellow sweet potato (Mongo).

These three, if not a gathering of heroes, could easily be described as a meeting of sweet potatoes, a veritable hodgepodge of agricultural products.

When Yang Le first came into contact with American comics, he often confused Darkseid with Mongo. It was because of this experience that he had a deep memory of the character Mongo.

Of course, Mongo isn't actually that famous among the many classic characters in American comics. There's no way around it; two similar characters have already been created, and Mongo came out at least seven or eight years later than the other two, so he's no longer popular.

Audiences have long been tired of seeing similar characters.

However, although Mongo did not gain explosive popularity like the previous two, he still received the status and strength he deserved.

Like Darkseid's new gods and Thanos's Eternals, Mongo is also a powerful being from the war zone.

How powerful is Mongo's physical ability? The fact that he can fight Superman, the only officially designated unit of measurement in DC, is enough to demonstrate his strength.

However, this is not the most powerful aspect of Mongo. His most unique feature is that he possesses a mobile war fortress the size of a planet—Warworld.

The War World possesses combat power commensurate with its size; destroying a planet is merely standard procedure for it, and its firepower is arguably the greatest in the DC Universe.

At the same time, the world of war is also the foundation of Mongo's existence in the universe, and under normal circumstances, no one would provoke this war madman who can bring his whole family to find you.

Even Yang Le felt that Mengo was a troublesome opponent, not for any other reason than that in the world of war, the destructive power of this thing was still worthy of respect.

Yang Le frowned. The black beetle didn't have many memories related to Mongo, which proved that the Reach insectoids had no trade dealings with it.

At this moment, Mongo suddenly made contact with the Reach envoy's ship, which clearly suggests only two possibilities.

First, Mongo took the initiative to approach them, wanting to reach some kind of deal with the Zerg of Reach.

Secondly, the Reach envoy, without informing Black Beetle, had already been secretly contacting Mongo, plotting something they couldn't let him know. Regardless of the possibility, anything related to Mongo is bound to be trouble.

"Buzz buzz buzz!" Due to the damage to the device, Mongo's face on the monitor was constantly being distorted and elongated. Even his voice sounded very strange due to the broken speakers, accompanied by a lot of electrical noise.

"To the distant star, my boy, I have already arrived outside Earth."

"In 30 minutes, I will launch a bombing raid on Earth. Whether you can escape or not is up to you."

After finishing speaking, Mongo unilaterally ended the communication. Perhaps due to a malfunction in the device, he was unable to see what was happening on the envoy's side.

Others might have cared why they couldn't see each other during video communication, but Mongo was always a carefree person, so he simply made a unilateral announcement and completely ignored the envoy's reply.

After listening, Yang Le quickly turned to look at the special envoy who was pretending to be dead. The latter had been trembling like a drowning quail, but after Meng Ge's communication ended, he suddenly became tough.

"You must have heard of the formidable reputation of War Lord Mongo," the envoy threatened, his words muffled as he covered his swollen cheek.

“I have reached an agreement with Mongo. If I cannot leave Earth safely in thirty minutes, he will control that war world to launch a full-scale attack on Earth.”

"I advise you not to have any wicked thoughts. Just obediently send me off Earth. If I'm in a good mood, I might spare your life!"

The envoy felt that his words were inspiring and dignified, but in reality, if it weren't for the Omnitrix translation system, Yang Le probably wouldn't have understood what he was saying at all.

As for that threat, I'm sorry, but a guy whose face is swollen to the size of his head, no matter how terrifying he talks, has no threat whatsoever. Besides, Yang Le has never been swayed by coercion or bribery.

Without wasting words, Yang Le raised his hand, grabbed the envoy's calf, and pulled him upside down from the ground.

Ignoring the latter's strange cries, with the operation of the elbow device and a weak shockwave, the envoy's calf instantly turned into a puddle of flesh.

"Ahhh!"

The envoy's curses and threats turned into screams of agony as he clutched his short leg and howled in pain after it hit the ground.

"If you can't speak properly, then shut up!" Yang Le said this seemingly to the special envoy, but his eyes were actually fixed on the Reach scientist hiding in the corner, too afraid to move.

The scientist immediately understood that the other party was making an example of him, warning him to know what he should and shouldn't say, otherwise the current envoy would suffer the same fate.

The scientist, having understood everything, calmed down. He knew this meant he was still useful to Yang Le, and therefore his life could be saved.

Unlike a special envoy who gets cocky with a little advantage, he immediately straightened his clothes and spoke respectfully to Yang Le.

"Please ask whatever you wish. I will answer whatever I know. Don't worry, I'm not like that filthy bastard who clings to his own leg and cries. I know how to assess the situation."

While they maintained a respectable facade, what the scientists were really thinking was...

'Hehe, I must survive!'
