Chapter 1156 The Zhang Family's Path

Chapter 1156 The way home
Just as Yang Le had thought, the good place Donatello mentioned was the underground city they had previously ventured to, and the favor they wanted from the Atem was to deal with the humans who had been modified by the Foot Gang scientists.

The Atem people had no objection to this; the underground city almost perfectly met their requirements—a space that would not be discovered by humans, where they could start over and rebuild the equipment to return home once again.

In fact, the landing of the Artemians on Earth was an accident. Modo and his group of Artemians were originally there to arrest and escort Quriel back to Artem, but Quriel escaped before they had gone halfway.

The escaped Qu Ruier sabotaged the spaceship transporting him, forcing Modo and the others to make an emergency landing on Earth.

According to Modo, they crash-landed on Earth about a thousand years ago. Aside from the initial period, they integrated into human society after developing humanoid exoskeletons.

This greatly surprised the turtles. They never expected that Modo and the others had lived for over a thousand years, and judging from their condition, this group of Atem people were still in their prime.

The lifespan of the Artemians is indeed exaggerated; even Cassandra and Damian, who are well-versed in the DC universe, couldn't help but take notice.

On the way to the underground city, having gone through hardships together, with the consent of his companions, Modo revealed their true nature in detail, letting the turtles know that it was the Atem's compound that had turned them into what they were now.

"After listening to Donatello's description, if I'm not mistaken, the compounds used by the scientists of the Foot Clan to mutate your friends were modified from the compounds of the Atem."

As he spoke, Modo picked up an underground crystal. They had taken it when they passed by the turtles' home. There were two in total; Modo held one, and Dr. Fuckey Todd held the other.

That's right, the Turtles didn't go home just to get the crystals. After all, those things are everywhere in the Underground City, so there's no need to make an extra trip home. The main reason they went back was to find Dr. Fukittod.

After all, Dr. Fukittod is an expert in time travel, and with his help, the reconstruction of the Artem people's various facilities will be exceptionally easy.

Unlike Modo, Dr. Fuckey Todd's mechanical eyes can detect many things that are invisible to the naked eye. After all, his current body originally belonged to his assistant robot, and he always had some strange gadgets on him.

“The energy contained in this crystal is extremely rich.” Dr. Fucitold stared intently at the crystal. “It’s truly astonishing; I’ve never seen a mineral like this before. It’s practically a solid block of energy!”

“That’s not all.” Dr. Fukitod took the crystal from Mordo’s hand as well, then stacked the two crystals together. The next second, the two crystals emitted a dazzling blue light.

"Look, they are so stable that even when forcibly activated, they do not release any radiation that is harmful to living organisms. They are simply the perfect energy source."

"It's hard to imagine that this guy named Qu Ruier just left a gold mine unattended and went on to develop some kind of biological weapon, only to abandon it halfway and instead fund that Stockman's 'mouse trap'."

Dr. Fuckey's tone was filled with undisguised disgust and disdain. He had always opposed such inhumane biological experiments, and even the mental devices he developed himself were all tested on himself.

"Alright, guys, those Stockman and Querrey names are a thing of the past." Michelangelo was munching on three bags of potato chips.

"How about we talk about something fun, like a comedy or sci-fi?"

“We’re talking business now, Michelangelo.” Donatello rolled his eyes. “Three bags of chips can’t shut you up. Isn’t this old car playing cartoons for you?” Michelangelo shrugged, obediently put on his headphones, and started watching the latest cartoon. He was the only one in the car watching; the other three turtles, Damian and Cassandra, were each engrossed in their own books and showed no intention of joining him.

Damian simply doesn't like watching that kind of childish stuff, while Cassandra, although she watches cartoons, doesn't watch superhero-themed ones, since her job is to be a hero.

“Alright, let’s get back to the main topic.” Donatello steered the conversation back on track. “Just like Dr. Fucitold said, these crystals are like solid energy blocks, but their form isn’t easy to change.”

“I once melted this crystal into a liquid state.”

"Excuse me, everyone," Yang Le interrupted Donatello's eloquent speech. "Could you please hand me those two crystals?"

Dr. Fuckey had no objection. He handed the two crystals to Yang Le, hoping the latter would offer some interesting suggestions.

Yang Le didn't speak. Instead, just like Dr. Fuckey Todd had done before, he stacked the crystals together and only spoke again after they emitted light.

"Little beat-up car, bring me the records of the spacetime fluctuations we experienced before."

At Yang Le's command, the broken car immediately used its robotic arm to grab a display screen and display all the data on it.

"Then, we will present the fluctuations generated by the crystal resonance in the form of data."

The rickety car then took out another display screen and thoughtfully placed the two screens together for Yang Le to compare.

“As expected.” Yang Le nodded. “The fluctuations generated by the underground crystal resonance are very similar to those recorded when we encountered the spacetime turbulence before.”

As he spoke, Yang Le stepped aside so that others could also see the data comparison. Sure enough, just as he said, the two fluctuations almost overlapped.

"Could it be that the energy generated by the resonance of the underground crystals pulled you here?" Donatello offered his speculation, which coincided with Yang Le's.

“It’s not impossible,” Dr. Fuckey Todd said with sudden realization. “According to Yang’s previous statement, his time in Hahab was almost the same as yours.”

"In other words, it is very likely that the time machine was triggered when you were causing trouble at the Modo base, and it happened to resonate with the underground crystal, producing some kind of strange physical reaction."

"The underground crystal increased the shuttle's power, thus breaking through the multiverse and affecting Yang's universe, ultimately pulling them over."

"That means that as long as we can figure out what happened, we can send Yang and the others home."
