Chapter 1105 Desktop Cleanup Master

Chapter 1105 Desktop Cleanup Master
No matter how much pressure he faced, the envoy maintained that he did not recognize the black beetle.

The envoy was clever. Because of the precedent of the blue beetle, as long as he insisted that he did not recognize the black beetle, then the Earth side really had no way to deal with him.

After several rounds of verbal exchanges, the two sides reached a stalemate. Fearing that the dispute would escalate into a war, the UN Secretary-General stepped in to mediate.

"Alright, alright, there's no need to make things so tense," the secretary-general said with a smile. "Please sit down, please sit down, let's talk after we sit down."

The envoy breathed a sigh of relief and then sat down as instructed. But as soon as his bottom touched the chair, he felt the vibration from the beetle in his arms.

The envoy was immediately delighted, but he did not show it. Instead, he pretended to be puzzled, took the beetle out of his pocket, pressed the button, and connected the communication.

"It's terrible, Special Envoy! Our grain factory has been destroyed!"

"What!?" The envoy feigned shock, because he was the only one who had heard the communication, so the other two people in the room were unaware of what had happened.

"Dingling bell~"

The secretary-general answered the phone on his desk and said, "Hello, please speak. What? The Reach's food factory was just destroyed?"

Upon hearing this, Mr. Zhuoyue's heart sank; he knew that he might have to return empty-handed today.

"It seems you've received the news too." The envoy said with a grim face. "Excuse me, gentlemen, please allow me to take my leave. When our Reach Zerg factory was destroyed, some of our compatriots were unable to evacuate. I need to go to the site to take a look."

It was a very reasonable request, and no matter how unwilling Mr. Zhuoyue was, he could only let the special envoy leave alone at this point.

...

After leaving, the special envoy went to the accident site immediately. He inquired about the situation with his compatriots and then arranged a rescue plan before leaving the site.

After returning to the Reach spaceship, the envoy finally breathed a sigh of relief. No longer having to maintain a nice guy image, he revealed a fierce expression.

"You're back, Envoy." The Zerg scientist from the Reach bowed to the envoy, who didn't even return the bow but instead gave the order directly.

"Summon Black Beetle."

After saying that, the special envoy went to his office without looking back. A few minutes later, someone finally pushed open his office door.

"Did you call me?"

When questioned by the black beetle, the envoy did not speak but instead picked up the instrument at hand and threw it at the black beetle. The latter did not dodge or avoid it and let the instrument hit its pectoral muscles.

Armor that can't even be penetrated by artillery shells, how could it possibly fear the odds and ends brought by a mere clerk? The black beetle that was hit didn't even feel a thing.

However, the fact that it didn't hurt didn't mean the black beetle wanted to be hit. But since the special envoy was still the highest leader of their advance team at this stage, all the black beetle could do was keep the matter in mind for the time being.

"Damn it!" The envoy slammed his fist on the table. "Didn't you say you left no evidence? Then why am I being questioned by those lowly Earthlings with a headshot of you?"

“I did release the EMP and destroy all electronic equipment at the mission site,” the Black Beetle said expressionlessly. “If anything is still recording me, it’s only possible that Earthlings used recording devices outside the Scarab’s detection range, which is not my fault.”

Instead of getting angry, the envoy laughed and said, "Isn't it your fault? Is it all my fault?"

“If you agree to let the green beetle act with me, the operation will indeed be more perfect,” the black beetle said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

"But you are too cowardly. The only combat force in the advance team is me and Green Beetle. Under such circumstances, you still want to separate the eggs. The result will be that you lose both ends."

"Shut up!" the envoy shrieked, transforming into a desktop cleaning master who swept everything off the table with his hands, making a clattering sound.

However, this did not frighten Black Beetle; he simply looked at the impotently furious envoy with calm, unwavering eyes.

"I am the special envoy of the advance team, and I am the one in charge here!"

"Whatever." The black beetle lost interest in communicating and turned to leave the room, but suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he turned back and said.

"Don't forget, the deadline set by the higher-ups is getting closer and closer. If you don't complete the plan within the stipulated time, I will strip you of all your rights in accordance with the ironclad rules of the Reach Zerg."

"We look forward to your leadership in completing our mission, Mr. Envoy."

Black Beetle's words were particularly harsh, and the envoy, enraged, wanted to throw something at him, only to find that he had already cleared everything off the table and put it on the floor. While he was distracted, Black Beetle had already left.

"Damn it!" The envoy could only vent his anger on the table again, while at the same time he felt a sense of urgency as time chased him.

According to the rules of the Reach, during the invasion, everything must be done in accordance with the arrangements of the current supreme leader, and even the scarab warriors cannot disobey the leader.

However, if the Scarab Knight determines that the current leader is too incompetent or unable to complete the task, the Scarab Knight can unilaterally strip the leader of all authority and then, depending on the circumstances, either re-establish a new leader or assume the leadership himself.

This rule seems unreasonable, since the Scarab Warriors can change leaders at will without asking permission, wouldn't everyone be in danger? However, that's not actually the case.

The basis of this rule is the scarab, the greatest masterpiece of the Reach. The supercomputer on the scarab will not make judgments that are detrimental to the Reach.

The scarab warriors are all about the scarab itself; their inner nature isn't that important. They won't allow their hosts to make irrational judgments based on momentary emotional fluctuations.

If this happens, the scarab beetle will take control of its host and forcibly take over everything, just like the sea merle and the blue beetle.

It was because of these reasons that the special envoy dared to lose his temper with Black Beetle. As long as he remained the leader, Black Beetle would have to listen to him no matter how dissatisfied he was.

However, if he fails to complete the mission by the deadline, he will only be stripped of his rights, and then the special envoy will be no better than a dog on the street.

The thought of that outcome filled the envoy with a sense of unease born of fear, prompting him to make a call.

"Hello, it's me." The envoy composed himself. "Let's set a time to talk."
