Chapter 1089

Jaime ultimately rejected Batman's proposal, preferring to retain the Scarab as the new generation's Blue Beetle.

This was not unexpected for Batman and the others, but since Plan A was not working, they had no choice but to use the backup Plan B.

The first step of Plan B is to be a hands-off manager and pass the problem on to the United Nations.

The United Nations convened a meeting of all nations, and after learning from the Justice League that the Nakvergi were currently not dangerous, they couldn't help but be somewhat tempted.

Although they have signed a treaty with the Zerg of Reach and become allies, there is a saying that too much oil will not spoil the dish, and no one will complain about having too many friends.

The Earth has been plagued by disasters lately, and everyone knows the saying "having more friends means having more options."

If aliens are genuinely looking to make friends, then the more the merrier. Some even believe that Earth could take this opportunity to venture into space and become a planet truly connected to the universe.

Instead of getting bogged down in their own little corner of the world.

This is an opportunity, and if we seize it, the Earth can usher in a period of rapid development.

However, some have raised concerns. These people have always doubted the sincerity of the Reach Zerg, and now there is the Nakvergi, whom we know even less about. Is this really an opportunity for Earth, or is it the calm before the storm?
However, the final vote was by majority vote, and the United Nations announced that the Nakfuji could be accepted, but the Nakfuji would have to accept the same demands as the Reach Zerg once they arrived on Earth.

Yang Le readily agreed, and the entire meeting went about as smoothly as the one between the Zerg and the Reach, since both sides actually had ulterior motives and didn't care what the United Nations said.

Ultimately, the Nakvergi were also placed on Roosevelt Island, but Yang Le and his group were placed on the east side, while the Reach insectoids were placed on the west side, separated by the Roosevelt Island Bridge.

The Zerg envoy used this as a pretext to accompany the UN Secretary-General to welcome the Nakvergi's landing.

The envoy wore a businesslike smile, his eyes fixed on the Nakvergi spaceship slowly descending from the sky, while simultaneously searching for their information using the scarabs connected to him.

However, the final result the special envoy received was nothing; nothing could be found.

It's not that the envoy is boasting, but although the Reach's database can't compare to the central system on Oa, having conquered several star systems, they possess a knowledge base far exceeding that of ordinary races.

But now they can't find any information about the Nakfuji people; it's as if these people suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

However, the envoy did not doubt the identity of the Nakvergi. After all, the universe is so vast that even the Green Lantern Corps cannot fully explore its entirety, let alone them. It is quite normal for an unfamiliar race or creature to appear.

What the envoy was really concerned about was the Nakvergi's objectives. If the latter encroached on his interests, then the Reach would have to deal with more than just the Justice League as an enemy.

We need to find a way to ascertain the other party's strengths and weaknesses.

As the envoy thought this, he followed the crowd to the safety line and quietly waited for the Nakvergi to land.

Several spaceships slowly landed on the ground. After the hatches opened, a group of humanoid creatures wearing cloaks walked out of the spaceships in an orderly manner. The leader was naturally Yang Le, who was dressed in red.

"You are distinguished guests who have come from afar," the UN Secretary-General greeted him with a formulaic statement.

“I am the Secretary-General of the United Nations of Earth. If you do not understand the concept of the United Nations, I can explain it.” Yang Le shook his head and said, “No need, Secretary-General. We Nakfuji people have a certain understanding of Earth’s customs. We did some research before coming here.”

“You’ve gone to great lengths,” the secretary-general said with a smile, then waved his hand. “This isn’t the place to talk. If you don’t mind, please move to another place. We’ve prepared a more suitable spot for our conversation.”

This series of actions gave the special envoy a sense of déjà vu, like the return of a swallow.

Yang Le nodded first, then looked at the special envoy beside him and said.

"This must be the envoy from the Reach Zerg, right? Even today, the name of your Reach is still widely known."

The first thing the envoy said upon meeting was to launch an attack. He was now certain that this so-called Nakvergi had come with hostility toward the Reach, making him an enemy rather than a friend.

"You flatter me," the envoy chuckled. "The only thing our Zhiyuan insectoids left behind a hundred years ago was a bad reputation. Now, we, the younger generation, have had to put in a lot of effort to correct the mistakes of our predecessors."

"I've heard a little about it." Yang Le's voice was ethereal, making it impossible to fathom his thoughts.

"Alright, gentlemen." The UN Secretary-General was also a shrewd person. He could tell that the atmosphere between the two sides was tense, so he immediately stepped in to smooth things over.

"This is not the place to talk. As I just said, I have prepared a place for us to talk. Please follow me."

Seeing this, Yang Le didn't say anything more. He spoke a few words in Nakforgia to the other Ice Ghosts behind him, then boarded the prepared vehicle with the Secretary-General. The Special Envoy followed suit and got into the same vehicle.

Only Yang Le's children and the Justice League members who came to provide security remained at the scene, namely Hal and Robin.

"So, our mission is over?" Lightning Boy asked.

“Of course,” Hal nodded. “However, if you want to stay here on guard duty, I won’t stop you.”

Lightning Boy glanced at the Frost Ghosts who had already returned to the spaceship and shook his head. Rather than foolishly staying here, he might as well go back and go on a date with Artemis.

"But is this really a good idea?" Robin asked with some concern. "I noticed the Nakvergi weren't very friendly towards the Reach insectoids. What if they start fighting on Earth?"

Hal knew that Robin's worries were unnecessary, but as the captain, he couldn't ignore the issue at this moment, so he had no choice but to speak up.

"Don't worry, Robin. Both sides are still wary of the Justice League and the Green Lantern Corps. With us around, they won't dare to act recklessly."

Hal raised his right hand as he spoke.

"I will send the information here back to Greenlight headquarters and ask them to pay close attention to the situation on Reach. As for the undercurrents on Earth, we'll have to rely on ourselves."

"Understood." Robin nodded. "I'll arrange for everyone to patrol more often."

Hal laughed and said, "Alright, we adults aren't too old to move yet. The Young Justice League can just do its usual activities, and leave the rest to us Justice League."
