Chapter 704 The Battle of Kamas

Chapter 704 The Battle of Kamas

The void of the Kamas sector is as silent as ice, and distant starlight cannot penetrate the deep darkness of this space.

However, this deathly silence did not last long.

The structure of reality was twisted and torn at the edge of the star field, and foul energy fluctuations flickered like festering wounds.

A massive and chaotic fleet slowly sailed out of the subspace and into the material universe.

The fleet of the Thousand-Eyed Warband presents a blasphemous and deformed appearance. It is not the uniform steel torrent of the Imperial Navy, but a bizarre collection of various ships cobbled together by the deep corruption of chaos.

The battleships' armored hulls were covered with wriggling, unidentified organic matter, the cruisers' turrets were twisted into indescribable shapes, and countless small raiding ships roamed around the capital ships like bloodthirsty predators.

Each ship is prominently marked with countless prying eye symbols, these unsettling markings appearing and disappearing against the ship's dark silhouette.

The ship's surface was covered with constantly shifting chaotic runes, and the energy readings showed extreme disorder and instability, exuding a strong aura of malice and decay.

Inside the command center of the Crimson Crescent Fortress Monastery, a massive tactical star map is being updated in real time with data transmitted from orbital monitoring stations and reconnaissance ships.

The red dots representing the enemy fleet spread across the star map at an astonishing speed, quickly occupying a corner of the map.

The number and density of the light spots continued to rise, and their scale significantly exceeded the most conservative intelligence estimates.

The technical priests busied themselves at their workstations, mechanical tentacles gliding rapidly across the control panels, low Gothic confirmations mingling with binary hymns.

On the star map, the edges of the red area extend outward continuously, spreading rapidly like ink stains dropped into clear water.

"They've arrived." Judge Chen Xi stood beside the star map, his voice steady and unwavering.

His gaze swept quickly across the constantly fluctuating data stream, assessing the number, type, and initial energy characteristics of the enemy ships.

Lion King Leon Aljonsen stands in the central position of the star chart, his figure as imposing as a mountain.

His deep gaze was fixed on the surging red tide, his face expressionless, with only cold, hard lines like the strata of Caliban.

He was not surprised at all; it was all within his expectations and preparations.

“Confirm flagship signal characteristics,” Lion King’s deep voice echoed in the command center with an unquestionable authority. “Match the database and lock onto the ‘Cursed Vision’.”

The technical priests and operators immediately sprang into action, with instructions and confirmations ringing out incessantly.

Soon, an exceptionally large red dot with an unusually strong energy response was highlighted, which was the flagship of the fallen angel Serafax.

"All ships, proceed to Level 1 combat readiness as planned. Orbital defense platforms, activate all weapon systems and connect to the unified fire control network." The Lion King began issuing orders, his speech steady and clear. "'Indomitable Truth' and its escort fleet, move forward to blocking positions. Crimson Crescent Fleet, responsible for flank cover and intercepting enemy assault boats."

The order was swiftly transmitted to the Imperial fleet in orbit via encrypted communication channels.

Centered around the Lion King's flagship, the "Unyielding Truth," the Imperial Navy ships, along with a small number of vessels from the Crimson Crescent Chapter, began adjusting their formation, like intricate gears meshing together, constructing an ironclad defensive line in the outer space of the planet Kamas. "They seem... reckless," Leona said, standing beside the Lion King, also gazing at the star map.

She was already dressed in her specially made dark green power armor, with the Lion King Sword hanging at her waist.

Her observations were direct and astute, pointing out the enemy fleet's almost reckless advance.

“Seraphax has already smelled my scent,” the Lion King said calmly, his tone tinged with a cold sarcasm. “Ten thousand years of betrayal and exile have made him eager to prove that his choice was ‘correct’.”

Nothing would satisfy his twisted vanity and please the dark god he serves more than killing a returning Primarch.

Just then, the red area on the star map representing the Thousand-Eyed War Gang fleet suddenly accelerated, rushing straight towards the Imperial defense line like a flood bursting its banks.

First came a dense barrage of torpedoes, like a pack of bloodthirsty sharks, tearing through the air and charging towards the Imperial fleet's lines.

Immediately afterwards, countless spears of light and cannonballs of various colors, filled with chaotic energy, poured down like a frenzied downpour.

The battle broke out in an instant.

The Imperial fleet responded calmly.

The Void Shield Generator operated at full capacity, forming energy barriers of distorted light in front of the ship.

Torpedoes struck the shields, erupting in dazzling flashes of light, while beams of light lances struck the shields, creating massive ripples. The Imperial fleet retaliated immediately, with precise and orderly beams of light lances and macro cannons firing in unison, tearing apart the formation of the Chaos fleet's vanguard. Several smaller Chaos raiders were reduced to fragments in the ensuing explosions.

However, the Chaos fleet was vast in number and fought with a frenzied style, charging forward recklessly in an attempt to offset the Imperial fleet's tactical advantage through close-quarters melee.

"'Indomitable Truth' has become the focus." Chen Xi observed the battle situation and pointed out an obvious fact.

At least a third of the enemy firepower, including several heavy cruisers and the massive, distorted flagship "Cursed Vision," was concentrated on unleashing a hail of bullets at the Lion King's flagship.

The massive hull of the "Indomitable Truth" trembled slightly amidst the hail of bullets, but its powerful void shield and thick ancient armor withstood the onslaught.

Hundreds of turrets on the ship spewed out destructive light, retaliating precisely and opening a huge breach in the side of a Chaos cruiser that had come too close, with flashes of fire from the internal explosion constantly appearing.

Inside the bridge of the "Cursed Vision," a ship adorned with blasphemous decorations and whose view was replaced by various distorted sensory organs, the fallen angel Serafax saw the familiar and majestic silhouette of the "Unyielding Truth."

His cloudy eyes suddenly flashed with fanatical light, and his distorted face twitched with excitement.

"It's him! It really is him!" Serafax's voice was hoarse with excitement. He pushed aside a cowering servant beside him and pointed at the Glory Queen-class battleship in the holographic projection, which resembled a mobile fortress. "Leon... you've finally stopped hiding! Ten thousand years later, we will still meet on the battlefield! But this time, the ending will be completely different!"

He turned to the communicator and roared at the entire fleet, his voice filled with manic joy: "All ships! Concentrate fire! Aim at that lion's flagship! Destroy it! Capture it! I'm going to personally set foot on its deck and drag Leon Eljonsson off that damned command seat!"

Driven by his rage, the Thousand-Eyed Warband's attack became even more frenzied and chaotic. More Chaos ships, disregarding the risk of exposing their flanks, charged towards the "Unyielding Truth," with some even attempting suicidal ramming maneuvers.
