Chapter 703 Ten Thousand Eyes Battle Gang
Chapter 703 Ten Thousand Eyes Battle Gang
Amidst this tense atmosphere of preparation, Lion King Leon El-Jonson made a crucial decision: he decided to proactively release the news that he was on the planet Kamas.
This decision was not a rash one, but rather based on his profound understanding of his own offspring, especially of the "fallen angels" who had rebelled ten thousand years ago.
He knew that for those traitors who were deeply corrupted by chaos and burdened with the name of betrayal for millennia, nothing could prove their "choice," satisfy their twisted ambitions, or please their dark gods more than personally killing a returning Primarch.
He believed that the leader of the Thousand-Eyed Warband, the fallen angel named Serafax, would be unable to resist this temptation.
This will be an elaborate trap, using the Lion King himself as bait and the planet Kamas as an anvil, waiting for the Thousand-Eyed Warriors' hammer to come down and crush it completely.
-
Meanwhile, on the edge of the Kamas sector, in a void region slightly eroded by chaotic energy and densely populated with asteroid belts, the flagship of the Thousand-Eyed Warband, a battleship heavily modified by chaos, hovered silently like a lurking predator.
The bridge was dimly lit, and the air was thick with the pungent smell of ozone, decaying matter, and blasphemous incense.
The leader of the warband, the fallen angel Serafax, stood before the holographic star map in the center of the bridge.
His once dark green power armor, belonging to the Dark Angels Legion, is now covered in chaotic marks and twisted growths, its emblems, which originally symbolized honor, now covered with blasphemous runes.
His helmet was removed, revealing a face grotesque from millennia of betrayal and the erosion of chaos. His skin was pale with an unhealthy grayness, and his eyes burned with murky, malevolent psionic flames.
He was once a knight in Caliban and swore allegiance to the Lion King and the Emperor, but that was all in the distant past.
Now, he serves only the dark forces of chaos and his own ambitions.
A wizard in tattered robes, whose body had undergone some kind of mutation, staggered up to him, his voice shrill with excitement: "Master! A psionic echo from the Kamas Sector... We've detected it!"
A powerful, ancient, and abhorrent psionic signature...
"It's Him! It's Leon Aljonsen! The lion, he's awake, and he's on Kamas!"
Serafax whirled around, his cloudy eyes flashing with a mixture of disbelief and ecstasy.
"Are you sure?" His voice was hoarse, like sandpaper scraping.
“Absolutely true, Master!” The wizard pointed eagerly to Kamas’s location on the star map. “The signal may be blurry, but that nauseating stench of ‘order’ and ‘loyalty’ is unmistakable!”
Moreover, Kamas's defenses are being fortified at an alarming rate; the remnants of the Crimson Crescent seem to be preparing for a major battle. This is no coincidence!
Serafax strode to the star map, staring intently at the projection of the planet Kamas. His distorted face twitched, eventually turning into a ferocious grin.
“Leon…you actually woke up…and even ran to this remote corner…” he growled in a low voice, filled with a resentment that had been suppressed for millennia and a kind of morbid longing. “Truly…a generous gift from the Emperor.”
He knew, of course, that this might be a trap.
But the temptation to kill a Primarch is simply too great.
This would not only win him unparalleled favor before the Chaos Gods, but also completely wash away the last remaining shadow of Caliban's destruction and betrayal deep within his heart, a shadow he himself was unwilling to acknowledge.
As long as the Lion King dies, his betrayal will be "correct" and his path will be "glorious".
"Summon all warband leaders!" Therafax's voice echoed across the bridge, filled with determination and fanaticism. "Cease all secondary activities! All ships, all warriors, assemble in the Kamas Sector! We will give that ancient lion, who has slumbered for millennia, a 'grand' welcome!" He glanced at the several Chaos Lords beside him, each possessing a fierce aura and a unique appearance. "Tell everyone that Kamas will not merely be a target for conquest. It will be our sacrifice to the Dark Gods, our grave to bury a Primarch!"
"Kill Leon Aljonsen, and exchange his head and soul for eternal power and glory!"
The order was quickly relayed throughout the entire Wanyan War Gang.
Chaos ships scattered throughout the sector began to turn, like sharks that have smelled blood, pouring out from different hideouts and raiding sites and converging on the Kamas sector.
Chaos Space Marines, enslaved mutant humans, and various Chaos Eggs and Daemon Engines within the Warband are all stirring, preparing to throw themselves into the "Great Expedition" proclaimed by their leader.
Seraphax stood on the bridge of the Cursed Vision, gazing at the direction locked by the star map navigation pointer, his heart filled with a destructive desire.
He could almost see Kamas burning in the flames of war, and the Lion King falling at his feet.
Unbeknownst to him, a vast net targeting him and the entire Thousand-Eyed War Gang had already been quietly cast across the surface of Kamas.
-
In Kamas, defensive preparations are still underway, with every second counting.
Accompanied by Leona, Chen Xi, Belial, Tycho Brahe, and Cassius, King Leon the Lion made his final inspection of the main defensive positions. He expressed general satisfaction with the progress and strength of the fortifications.
“Seraphax and his men should already be on their way.” The Lion King stood atop the fortified walls of the fortress, gazing at the darkening sky in the distance, and said calmly. “He cannot resist this opportunity.”
“We are ready, Father,” Grand Master Belial replied in a deep voice, his bone-white Terminator armor gleaming with a cold, hard sheen in the afterglow of the setting sun.
Leona stood beside the Lion King, also gazing into the distance, her voice clear and calm: "They will pay the price for their betrayal."
Chen Xi added, "The mortal troops have been deployed and the logistics chain is operating normally. We are ready."
Company Commander Tycho stroked the hilt of his power sword. "The Holy Blood Angels yearn to purify this land with the blood of traitors."
Chapter Master Cassius concluded, "The Crimson Crescent will perish with the fortress."
Lion King Leon nodded and said nothing more.
His gaze swept over the loyal soldiers before him, and over the land that was about to become a battlefield.
The millennia-long slumber has ended, and the first real test is about to begin. He gripped the power sword "Loyalty" at his waist, the cold touch of the hilt making him even more alert.
War was inevitable, and he was ready to lead his sons to victory once again, or at least to make the enemy pay an unbearable price.
The planet Kamas, once a relatively peaceful world, has now been completely transformed into a massive war fortress, quietly awaiting the arrival of the storm.
