Chapter 432 The Silent Nun's Battle

Chapter 432 The Silent Nun's Battle

Sidgar could imagine the scene: a retired veteran and his quiet nun wife talking all night about the future of their family.

Remian seemed lost in memories as well, her fingers unconsciously stroking the oath strip on the hilt of her sword.

She suddenly lowered her voice and added mysteriously, "Actually, there's another reason—that Inquisitor Governor gave us three brand-new sets of Vatin armor!"

“All that’s left of the Mother Order’s legacy is this greatsword.” Remuel patted her sister’s weapon, her tone suddenly turning helpless: “If it weren’t for the Governor’s generosity, we probably wouldn’t even have decent armor.”

She made an exaggerated shrug: "Do you know how expensive the standard equipment of the Silent Sisters costs at the Mechanicus?"

Xi Dejia looked down at the badly worn electromagnetic crossbow he had brought and suddenly felt like he had found a kindred spirit.

What she wrote on the data board made Remy laugh out loud: "Looks like everyone's poor."

Remuel wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of her eyes and nodded repeatedly.

The three girls looked at each other and smiled. In that instant, Xi Dejia suddenly felt that space was no longer so unfamiliar, and the huge warship was no longer so frightening.

It turns out that in every corner of the Milky Way, the Silent Sisters are upholding that ancient and solemn vow in their own ways.

“Who says otherwise?” Remuel pouted, twirling her fingers around her hair. “Back then, my mother was so poor that she even had to pawn her armor, and in the end, she had to give up her status as a nun.”

But now everything's alright! That kind governor not only provided a whole new set of equipment, but also gave Mom money for her trip to Terra!

Her voice unconsciously rose a few decibels: "Dad said that Holy Terra is the center of the empire, and the Golden Throne is right there! I really want to see what His Majesty the Emperor's palace looks like!"

Remuel clasped her hands together in front of her chest, her eyes sparkling with longing.

“Xiao Le.” Remy, who had been listening quietly, suddenly patted her sister and gestured in sign language: “Mother told us that we must concentrate on serving the Governor.”

Remuel immediately jumped up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, waving her hands exaggeratedly: "I know, I know! I was just saying! I'm not really going to sneak off to Terra!"

To change the subject, Remuel suddenly leaned close to Sidgar and whispered mysteriously, "By the way, how's the food at your monastery? Let me tell you, the restaurant on this ship has truly natural food!" She gestured excitedly, "Yesterday I even had a cream cake made with real sugar! Not one of those artificial sweeteners!"

Sidja's eyes lit up instantly. In the monastery, sweets were a luxury reserved for major holidays. Remian looked at her two companions, who had suddenly turned into gluttons, and shook her head helplessly, but the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up in a smile.

"Come on, come on!" Remi Le pulled Sidja up with one hand and her sister with the other. "It's afternoon tea time! I heard there are honey muffins and apple pie today!"

The three young nuns left the cabin chattering away. Their laughter gradually faded into the distance, and the solemn, silent identities of the nuns were temporarily forgotten, replaced by the purest joy of young girls.

When a Voidship travels through the warp, the concept of time becomes meaningless.

This chaotic dimension distorts the laws of reality, making travel time completely unpredictable—a void ship might arrive at its destination on time, appear at the destination the moment it sets off, or even arrive at its predetermined location decades in advance.

As for the actual sailing time experienced by the crew, that remains an even more unpredictable mystery.

When you're lucky, you can cross the entire Milky Way in just a few days, with perfect timing; when you're unlucky, spaceships from humanity's dark age of technology are still adrift in this chaos.

Records show that some lost ships have drifted in the warp for centuries, while their crews have only experienced a few months, or vice versa. However, time distortion is only the most minor of the problems encountered in warp navigation.

The most terrifying thing about this chaotic realm is the horrifying beings that roam within it.

While Chaos Demons are the most common threat, the Warp is also home to some much older and more bizarre creatures, whose existence predates even the Chaos Gods.

Fortunately, these terrifying creatures are extremely rare and are almost never encountered in modern navigation.

Under normal circumstances, as long as the Gellé force field remains stable, there is not much danger in navigation.

At most, a few muscular vampires might suddenly appear in the bathroom, or a few succubi might roam the lower decks looking for food.

But for the ships carrying the Silent Sisters, these warp creatures were practically easy prey.

Three fully armed nuns of silence, dressed in brand-new Vatin armor, marched in formation through the ship's metal corridors.

The gleaming armor shone with a cold, chilling light under the emergency lights, and the decapitation swords in their hands flashed with deadly sharpness.

This was their first real-world combat experience after acquiring their new equipment, and everyone was visibly excited.

However, the battle was surprisingly simple – when they stepped into the demon-infested area, they didn't even need to draw their swords.

Simply by unleashing the void force field, those abominable warp creations vanish as quickly as a thin mist under the sun.

The twisted demonic form distorted and collapsed before the power of the untouchable, emitting a mournful howl before vanishing into nothingness.

Occasionally, they might encounter a few particularly stubborn demons, but it would only take a little more effort—the nuns' precise swordsmanship would quickly and completely eliminate them.

In contrast, the few psionicists who suddenly awakened on the lower deck caused more trouble.

Although their psionic talents were negligible, their out-of-control abilities caused pipes to burst, and the spray of high-pressure steam and flying metal fragments complicated the battlefield.

In addition, the panicked sailors' resistance with makeshift weapons did create some tactical obstacles for the nuns.

However, for Sister Silent, who was able to fight alongside the Imperial Guard, such a challenge was nothing to fear.

Although they are not genetically modified warriors like Astartes, each of them is a combat master who has undergone rigorous training.

Precise swordplay, agile movement, and seamless teamwork allowed them to easily defuse all threats.

Not to mention, the three Silent Sisters on this frigate had just received excellent equipment—the brand-new Vatin armor made them even more formidable, and the sharp decapitation swords were eager to drink blood.

For them, this battle was more like a practical test of their new equipment.
