The Witcher: Make Witcher Great Again

Chapter 359 Second Mutation

Chapter 359 Secondary Mutation (Part 2)

Geralt took the two-handed sword and first performed a standard set of Wolf School sword techniques.

He didn't seem clumsy or slow at all from beginning to end.

He nodded and began sparring with Eskar.

Both fighters used the same swordsmanship, but the other witchers and two sorceresses watching could see that Geralt was significantly faster and quicker than Escal.

Geralt effortlessly deflected all of Escal's attacks, while Escal sometimes couldn't even keep up with Geralt's offensive.

Escal himself felt more directly that even though Geralt deliberately held back and didn't seize his weaknesses to launch a full-scale attack, every time he fought Geralt head-on, he was the one who suffered the loss.

The vibrations from the weapon made my hands go numb, and after a few rounds, my numb hands could barely hold the weapon.

Seeing that his good brother was about to give up, Geralt took the initiative to stop and retreat, giving his good brother a way out.

Even though the battle was still undecided, it was clear to everyone that Geralt was dominating Escalde.

Tisaya nodded, and then the quill pen floating beside her began to write something rapidly on the parchment that was also floating.

Next, Tessaia had Geralt change into a full suit of "Maximilian-style" plate armor, which only high-ranking officers of the Nilfgaardian Empire were qualified to wear, and then had him run quickly around the castle.

After Geralt had run a distance that would tire any normal Witcher, the famous White Wolf was only slightly tired.

He could even keep running.

Now, a strange light flashed in Tissaya's eyes.

The quill pen floating around me even broke its tip due to excessive excitement while writing on parchment.

Keep in mind that Geralt wasn't traveling light; he was running heavily armored, wearing full plate armor that could withstand arrows.

The "Maximilian style" full plate armor, according to the Nilfgaardians themselves, is said to be the culmination of all human wisdom and technology, and the strongest armor of the Empire, a gamble for an armorer's career.

It must be said that the defensive performance of this full plate armor is indeed excellent, but it has a rather fatal flaw: it is even heavier than the full plate armor of the Toussaint Ranger Knight.

So even though this item was issued to high-ranking officers of the Nilfgaardian Empire, in reality, very few people could actually wear it in combat without a sorcerer casting a "light armor" spell on it.

But now, Geralt can not only move swiftly, but also for a long time.

Tisaya and Yennefer exchanged a glance, both feeling excited about their research findings.

The other witchers were in a state of deep shock.

Especially Escal and Lambert.

They were all from the Wolf School, and although they knew Geralt was a little stronger than them, it was only by a little bit.

Unlike now, they've left them far behind.

However, after the initial shock, everyone felt excited and thrilled.

Just imagine, if all demon hunters possessed such incredible physical abilities, and if they could all unite as one...

Sooner or later, the Witcher will be able to overthrow the mountain weighing on him, truly stand up, and never have to suffer humiliation again.

The physical fitness tests are over; next up are the Dharma Sign tests.

The group returned to the training ground, where Tisaya set up several more mannequins.

These dummies weighed about the same as normal adult males, and Tissaya deliberately dressed each of them in a half-body armor.

Geralt was then instructed to use signs on these dummies to test the results of the sign-related actions.

For safety reasons, everyone stood to Geralt's side and behind.

Geralt took a deep breath and then forcefully unleashed an Alder sign.

As he pushed his palm forward, he felt a slight chill in his palm, and then an unbelievable scene unfolded.

The temperature in the air suddenly dropped.

The spreading chill first froze several dummies located three meters in front of Geralt, covering them with a thin layer of ice. Moreover, the chill passed through the dummies, leaving icicles and frozen marks on the ground seven meters behind them.

The shockwave that followed shattered the frozen dummy into pieces, scattering them all over the ground.

Of course, the half-body armor on the dummy didn't break; it only had some cracks. What broke was the dummy's body.

The demon hunters who witnessed this scene were all shocked and stared wide-eyed.

As fellow witchers, they naturally understood this very well:
The Alder sign normally only releases a shockwave, which doesn't travel very far, only two or three meters, and its impact is enough to send a person flying.

As a result, Geralt's newly unleashed Bone Spike not only had a shockwave range of an astonishing ten meters, but it also consisted of two consecutive instances of damage.

The first part is frost damage, followed by the shockwave in the second part.

Unless it's a heavily armored soldier wielding a tower shield, that last piercing Aard could have swept away an entire area.

Even if a heavily armored soldier can't kill someone instantly with a single blow, the sudden drop in temperature is enough to make their hands and feet cold, their reactions sluggish, and their movements slowed down.

Tissaya waved her wand, and the scattered remains of the mannequins flew to a trash can in the corner, then a new batch of mannequins was arranged.

Then comes the Igni sign.

A terrifying surge of flame erupted from Geralt's palm, and like the Bone-Piercing Aard, the Crimson Stream also reached a terrifying range of ten meters.

Geralt lowered his arm and saw that the row of mannequins had turned into human torches, with intense flames licking at them.

The effect is so obvious that it needs no further description. If the dummy were replaced with a real soldier, even a heavily armored soldier with a shield would not be able to survive such flames.

Next up is the Quen Shield.

The Quen sign originally had two casting methods:

One method is to release it directly, which will create a shield around the area.

The advantage of this casting method is that it is fast, consumes little mana, and the shield lasts a long time.

The downside is that this shield is practically made of paper.

A regular Witcher's Quen shield, released in this way, can only withstand about one attack.

Even Geralt could only block about two or three attacks.

Another option is to maintain the casting posture and continuously supply magic power to the shield.

The advantage is that as long as there is enough chaotic magic power in the body, the shield will not break.

The downside is that this method of release will increase the consumption of chaotic magic, and because you need to concentrate on providing magic to the shield, you will not be able to perform any other actions.

During testing, Geralt was surprised to discover that he had a third way to release the shield: a delayed charge shield.
