Sherlock Holmes at Hogwarts.
Chapter 285 I Am Not Vulnerable
Chapter 285 I Am Not Vulnerable
Harry was surprised that Professor Lupin would send an owl ahead of him to tell Professor McGonagall about what happened on the train.
Before he could answer, there was a knock on the door.
Immediately afterwards, the school doctor, Ms. Pomfrey, rushed in.
Harry blushed immediately.
Although I fainted on the train, weren't the teachers making a bit of an overreaction?
Of course, he also knew that everyone was concerned about him.
But that's precisely why he felt even more embarrassed.
"Professor, I'm fine, I don't need anything..."
"Oh, it's you guys!"
Upon seeing Sherlock and Harry, Pomfrey immediately had a look of sudden realization.
After bending down to examine Harry closely, he said in a matter-of-fact tone:
"I bet you've done something dangerous again, haven't you?"
That's strange, why did she say "again"?
"It's a Dementor, Poppy."
Professor McGonagall, who was standing nearby, answered the question for Harry.
Ms. Pomfrey's expression immediately changed, and she exchanged a serious look with Professor McGonagall before launching into a disgruntled complaint:
"Sending Dementors around the school is a brilliant idea!"
As she spoke, she brushed Harry's hair back and touched his forehead:
"He certainly won't be the first one to faint... Look, he's cold and wet. Those horrible creatures can have a huge impact on vulnerable people..."
"I am not weak!"
Harry said, annoyed.
Sherlock and Hermione exchanged a knowing smile when they saw him like this.
Ms. Pomfrey seemed not to have heard him at all: "Oh yes, yes, you're not fragile at all."
The perfunctory tone couldn't be clearer.
Of course, her hands weren't idle either; while talking, she started feeling his pulse again.
"Sherlock has already touched it!"
Harry said again.
However, this was of no use; Madam Pomfrey continued to do as she pleased, completely ignoring Harry's words.
"Bobby, what does he need?"
Professor McGonagall, always decisive, asked without hesitation, "Is he going to stay in bed? Should I arrange for him to stay at the university hospital for the night?"
"I'm fine, very fine!"
Harry couldn't hold back any longer when he heard this.
He already felt ashamed that he was the only one who had fainted, and now seeing Professor McGonagall making such a fuss over nothing made him feel even more unbearable.
It was only then that he realized he was actually quite concerned about saving face.
“He is indeed fine, Professor. I just gave him some brandy in the car.”
Seeing that his friend was starting to lose his composure, Sherlock finally spoke.
"Brandy?"
Ms. Pomfrey looked at Sherlock with some surprise. "What's the point?"
"Brandy can aid digestion, dispel cold and warm the body, remove blood stasis and detoxify. It is an effective vasodilator that can improve the strength of the cardiovascular system and is a good medicine for cardiovascular patients."
Sherlock recounted the details with great familiarity.
"is it?"
Madam Pomfrey then began to examine Harry's eyes again, and after smelling the pungent odor, she said with some suspicion:
"It sounds like chocolate, but I still think he should eat some chocolate."
“I’ve already eaten some,” Harry said quickly, seizing the opportunity. “Professor Lupin distributed the chocolates to all of us in the carriage.”
"Good job!"
Ms. Pomfrey gave her assessment without reservation: "We finally have a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who knows how to address the root cause of the problem."
"So, do you really feel alright?" Professor McGonagall asked suspiciously.
“Yes, Professor.” Harry nodded emphatically.
"Very good, let's continue talking about your class schedule."
After Ms. Pomfrey left the office, muttering to herself, Professor McGonagall's gaze swept back and forth between the three of them before she finally spoke slowly:
“Mr. Holmes, Mr. Potter, and Miss Granger, you all chose all the courses last semester. Although I don’t know what you were thinking when you made that decision, there are some things I need to tell you in advance.”
She cleared her throat. "It's not that we haven't had students like you who chose all the electives before. The two student council presidents who were just elected this year, Mr. Weasley and Miss Farley, both earned twelve certificates in their fifth-year OWL exams."
This is a very rare thing, but that doesn't mean they need to take all the classes, you understand what I mean?
Harry and Hermione pondered for a moment, while Sherlock blurted out, "Is it a scheduling conflict?"
"Very good, Mr. Holmes!"
Professor McGonagall was very pleased with Sherlock's reaction.
"So you'll have to selectively drop some courses, but which courses to drop is up to you to decide." "No problem, Professor."
"Well then, please wait outside for a moment with Potter. I need to talk to Miss Granger about his schedule, and then we'll go downstairs together for the banquet."
Hearing this, Harry exclaimed in surprise, "But Professor, Sherlock and I have the exact same schedule as Hermione..."
Upon hearing Harry's words, Professor McGonagall's face showed a rare hint of hesitation and shame.
However, that only lasted for a moment; she almost instantly regained her usual serious expression.
"That's true, but I have some suggestions for her."
Harry said "Oh," and prepared to leave the office with Sherlock.
However, when he looked at Sherlock, he found that the latter did not seem to intend to leave.
Professor McGonagall also noticed this and felt a chill run down her spine.
This is Sherlock Holmes, after all. Could it be that he has seen through something?
"Holmes, is there anything else?"
"Yes, Professor."
Hearing Sherlock's words, Professor McGonagall's unease intensified, but she suppressed the urge and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Ms. Pomfrey just said to send Dementors around the school..."
"Oh, you mean this?"
Hearing this, Professor McGonagall secretly breathed a sigh of relief and interrupted Sherlock before he could finish speaking:
"Before the start of the school year, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge approached Headmaster Dumbledore, hoping he would agree to allow these Azkaban guards to be stationed at the school entrance."
At this point, Professor McGonagall's expression turned somewhat grim. "Although Dumbledore was not happy about it, he ultimately agreed for the sake of the school's safety."
Not just Dumbledore, I dislike these Dementors too, but sometimes you have to team up with someone you'd normally avoid to deal with a wizard like Black.
At this point, she gave Harry another long look, then turned to Sherlock, "Is there anything else, Holmes?"
"Thank you for your answer, Professor."
After Sherlock finished speaking politely, he returned to the corridor with Harry.
As soon as the two left, Professor McGonagall looked at Hermione and said, "Granger, you absolutely cannot tell anyone what I'm about to tell you. Can you do that?"
Hermione was taken aback by what she heard.
“If you can’t do it, then I won’t tell you this anymore—but I personally think you’d better listen to me, because it will be of great benefit to you.”
"Sherlock, what do you think Professor McGonagall is planning to do by leaving Hermione behind?"
In the hallway outside the office, Harry fully demonstrated his spirit of asking Sherlock when in doubt.
"Just ask her when she comes out."
"Hey, can't you deduce that?"
“My dear friend, perhaps my past behavior has led you to this misunderstanding. However, I have told you before that I am not capable of predicting the future.”
Sherlock chuckled and patted Harry on the shoulder. "Of course, you're right. I have indeed deduced some things, but that's precisely why we should ask Hermione first."
"what?"
Harry scratched the back of his head, not understanding what Sherlock was talking about.
At this moment, a burst of footsteps sounded.
Harry turned his head and saw Hermione walking out.
Hermione gave Sherlock a complicated look, and was about to say something when Professor McGonagall came out.
Seeing this, Hermione kept quiet, and Professor McGonagall led the three of them down the marble staircase to the Great Hall.
As it turned out, we saw Professor Flitwick walking out of the auditorium with a stool and the Sorting Hat.
"Heh, it seems the Sorting Ceremony is over."
“Yes, Mr. Holmes,” Professor McGonagall glanced at Sherlock, “because of your matter, I asked Professor Flitwick to help me preside over the Sorting Ceremony—now, please return to your respective houses.”
After saying this, Professor McGonagall strode towards the faculty dining table.
Sherlock and his two companions naturally headed towards the Gryffindor table.
Ron had already reserved seats for the three of them.
As soon as they sat down, he immediately asked, "What exactly happened?"
Harry was about to speak when Dumbledore stood up and began to speak, forcing Harry to stop.
It has become a tradition for the principal to give a speech before the banquet, but this year is clearly different from last year.
The first thing Dumbledore said immediately captured the attention of the entire school:
"We have received several Dementors from Azkaban who have been sent by the Ministry of Magic on official business, as you all probably already know, since they previously searched the Hogwarts Express."
Dumbledore paused at this point.
Harry and Hermione immediately remembered what Professor McGonagall had just said: Dumbledore was not happy about sending Dementors to guard the school.
Now it seems that this is indeed the case.
Sherlock looked at Dumbledore with great interest, and their eyes briefly met.
