Chapter 6 [Vellen Tavern]

Ethan felt like he was sinking into the deep sea again.

The whole world became psychedelic, and he kept wandering in it, but he no longer saw any scenes similar to the previous conversation between Joan and Fred.

Finally, he came to a line of strange and indescribable words.

That was his 'true name', the instigator and protector of violence.

The strange characters slowly squirmed, and the surface had turned completely black, but between the movement, a mercury-like background was still faintly revealed.

It flowed and suddenly enveloped Ethan, and Ethan felt something in his body being absorbed.

Before he could struggle or resist, he had already regained consciousness.

He was still in the car, and it was still moving forward.

He was no longer tipsy and out of control.

The only change was that the 'Name of the True God' in front of him became much fuller, the color became deeper, and more unpredictable.

Thinking back to how he had killed Joan before and that Joan still had power that he could control, he began to understand.

'The Name of the True God' can absorb that kind of power, and his loss of control is probably because the power harvested from Joan has not been transformed.

However, this was only a guess. He had been in this world for too short a time, and knew too little about fame, authority, and the strange power generated by them.

It can only be postponed, after all, there are many other problems to deal with right now.

With Anya driving, the car had quickly driven out of the area where the North Sea Star was located, but it did not leave the city. Instead, it seemed to be still heading into the city.

"Where are we going now?"

"Vellen Tavern."

Anya no longer showed any emotion at this moment, her eyes fixed on the front like a machine.

Velen Tavern...

Ethan had no idea what was going on. After all, his predecessor had no involvement in the family business and didn't even have any feelings for Winster.

"Vellen was Al's sharpest sword, and he was also my teacher." Anya read Ethan's thoughts again and explained, "There's no doubting Mr. Velen's loyalty... Since you're not leaving, we'll need more manpower to start the war."

Ethan was even more confused after hearing this. Wasn't it said that the core strength of the family had been destroyed along with his eldest brother Leonardo?
"In fact, after Mr. Veron got older, he has always existed as Al's hidden power, so Leonardo didn't have time to recruit him that night."

Anya turned the steering wheel and changed the route again, obviously trying to get rid of possible followers.

She continued, "In the original plan, after I send you off tonight, Master, I will reunite with Teacher Wei Lun, and together we will avenge Al."

It's called revenge, but it's actually suicide. If it weren't for Ethan, Qiao An wouldn't stand there stupidly and let someone pierce her forehead.

But the determination in Anya's words and the calmness of her narration still made Ethan feel a different kind of shock.

He stopped talking.

He didn't speak until the car stopped: "Now it's good, we can truly avenge my father and our entire family."

"Yeah." Anya nodded firmly.

The two got out of the car together.

The Velen Tavern was closed, the sign was dimmed, and the shop was pitch black.

Anya, however, walked around to the back of the tavern as if she was familiar with the place and knocked rhythmically on a closed door.

Soon, a small iron window on the door was pulled up, revealing a man with a face full of flesh. He looked at Anya scrutinizingly, nodded, and said, "You're here, Anya. Velen is waiting for you downstairs."

He opened the door, but was still stunned when he saw Ethan following Anya.

"he is?"

"Master Ethan." Anya didn't explain too much and took Ethan inside. Although the burly man was confused, he didn't stop Ethan.

Inside the door was a small room. There were a few men drinking or playing cards under the dim light. They just glanced at Ethan and Anya without paying much attention.

Ethan discovered that these people must have good skills and marksmanship, because there were obvious marks of holding guns on their hands.

It’s not that Ethan’s insight has reached a terrifying level, but he is particularly sensitive to factors related to violence.

Velen was not in this room. Anya took Ethan through the room and into a downward corridor.

This walkway eventually leads to a huge wine cellar.

As soon as Ethan and the others stepped into the wine cellar, they heard dull gunshots.

"boom--"

"boom--"

"boom--"

Three consecutive sounds, very steady and coherent.

Just by listening to the gunshots, Ethan could already tell that this man was an expert with a gun, and these shots were bound to hit the bull's eye.

The same is true.

Ethan and Anya walked past the oak barrels storing wine and saw a huge shooting range that had been perfectly transformed.

Under the dazzling light, a slightly hunched man was holding a gun and looking straight ahead. The smoke from the gun had not yet dissipated. On the target in the distance, three bullets hit the vital parts: the center of the eyebrows, the heart, and the liver.

Not a single mistake.

"Good shooting." Ethan clapped his hands lightly and watched the man turn around.

He was about the same age as Alberto, but looked older, and with his hunched figure, he already had the air of an old man. However, when he looked back with the gun in hand, his gaze was still as sharp as that of an evil eagle.

"Anya, you're here earlier than I thought. This is..." Wei Lun put away his gun, glanced at Anya, then stared at Ethan, and then said, "Master Ethan? Why are you here? Aren't you leaving yet? Anya!"

He was questioning Anya why she didn't send Ethan away but brought him here instead.

Ethan is Alberto's last offspring. Although he doesn't like this young master whom he rarely sees, he can't let Ethan die in Winster.

"Just about half an hour ago, Master Ethan killed Joan, and the war has started again, Velen." Anya answered Velen's question.

"what?!"

Velen thought he had heard wrongly.

Joan is dead?

Or was he killed by the young man in front of him?

He was in complete disbelief.

As an old-school mafia member, he has been rolling in the mud all his life, so it is natural that he does not like Master Ethan, who has been studying art in the capital for many years and has nothing to do with the family business.

To be frank, he even looked down on such people.

Family is family, and people like Master Ethan are complete cowards who betray their family.

As a result, now someone suddenly told him that Joan Cabrera, the biggest enemy of the Porretta family who completely destroyed Porretta single-handedly, was killed.

It was still Master Ethan whom he looked down upon.

How is this possible?
