Chapter 269, 23: Ambitious
Chapter 269 Two-thirds Ambitious
Midgardia-Midheim-Haltia
On the surface, Bjorn, accompanied by a group of Dalian wolves, stood on the edge of the cliff, looking with some curiosity at the Founder-class industrial ship that was gradually unfolding on its orbit.
Amidst the howling winds, a torrent of living metal erupted from the belly of the industrial ship, cascading down from near-Earth orbit. The silvery-gray liquid metal, upon contact with the mountain, expelled the snow and ice, solidifying into a precise structural framework on the massive mountain.
The chanting of the technicians echoed through the mountains through loudspeakers as they operated control terminals, guiding countless prefabricated components, encased in living metal, to their respective positions like a swarm of metal bees returning to their nest.
His gaze followed a hot-melting furnace that was being set up, the massive industrial modules spewing out orange-red flames, melting and reshaping the ancient rock formations of Midgardia into standardized prefabricated workshops.
Each surge of those gleaming silver metals is accompanied by the precise docking of hundreds of standard components.
In the areas where casting has already been completed, the microstructure of the living metals disintegrates directly, becoming even more tightly connected due to their massive mass, ultimately transforming into unremarkable support structures used to bear the weight of industry.
This is the treasure that the Dawn Star Sector has focused its efforts on developing over the years. It possesses a complete military industrial system and a skilled worker training system, enabling it to propel a barbaric world of an empire into an industrial age that meets imperial standards in a short period of time.
Its main objective is to build an industrial system in a very short time that can export Astral Army and Astartes equipment and vehicles, while also providing supplies and parts repair for Imperial Navy ships.
Currently, limiting the number of skilled workers is particularly troublesome due to the existence of all sorts of strange and unruly individuals. As a result, the training has to include a rather rigorous loyalty test. This is because the Empire has the technology to implant knowledge into the brain, which greatly reduces the time required for theoretical education in skilled worker training.
The administrative personnel within the escort fleet will serve as management units with decision-making and administrative functions to ensure the efficient operation of this industrial system.
Bjorn stood on the edge of the cliff, watching as the mountain was being transformed into a terraced, multi-functional military factory.
Feeling the tremors beneath my feet, I had mixed feelings.
They had previously criticized Guilliman at meetings led by the Wolf King for forcibly linking other worlds, interfering in the internal affairs of various Imperial departments, and expanding his own power.
Looking back now, those words seem to still echo in the hall, yet they have become incredibly distant.
Something seems a bit strange now.
Why did we build such a massive arsenal? Why did we establish a transponder station capable of supporting hundreds of star sectors in the surrounding area? Why did we establish a talent export system with the Loyal Succession Academy and connect with the equally harsh and frigid planet of Fenris?
In order to expand their own power!
Because the Primarch promised that if the Sons of Ruth could restore the Legion to its former size, they would lead the Sons of Ruth to capture Magnus, extract clues about Leman Ruth, and then lead the wolf pack to 'welcome back' the Primarch.
So how can you become stronger?
They connect with other worlds, interfere in the internal affairs of various imperial departments, and expand their own power.
Ambitious!
wrong!
Space Wolf lacks the ambitious political maneuvering of the Ultramarines, so a significant portion of the middle link can be omitted.
Two-thirds of them are ambitious.
Bjorn thought to himself, as Guilliman's longtime hater, he really didn't want the Space Wolf to one day end up colluding with the Ultramarines.
Thinking about it this way made him feel much better.
This is to welcome back Ruth, this is for the moment of the wolf.
It's not like the Ultra Warriors.
Below the cliff, construction machinery roared deafeningly as a molten metal reactor was being hoisted into place, Bjorn thought to himself.
These resources, these weapons, these wolf cubs—all are for the purpose of finding Ruth, for continuing to fight for the will of the Father under Ruth's leadership, not for building some independent kingdom of their own.
The stronger the Space Wolf, the closer Ruth will be to you!
"The Fenris system is extremely rich in mineral resources, including minerals with broad application prospects such as frost crystal, which has great potential for future development."
Amidst the slightly hostile gazes of the wolf lords, Romulus and Logan appeared in a beam of teleportation light.
"Yes, Lord Romulus."
Bjorn didn't know what to say in return, so he simply bowed first.
He then turned his gaze to Logan.
"Did we discuss it?"
"Ah."
Logan nodded.
After reaching an agreement with Arthur and Ramses's banter, the alpha wolf's attitude softened considerably.
No longer rejecting the idea of modifying Fenris, and considering that they could learn from it, they chose to coordinate with Romulus on specific matters.
Basically, it was Romulus talking, and after each paragraph, he would explain the specific function, then emphasize, 'I have no intention of controlling the Space Wolf, and you don't need to give me anything; we are simply working towards a common goal.'
Anyway, the Wings of Dawn have been extremely honest, and now it's the Fenris who are running out of manpower.
With just a few million people, and nearly ten million including Midgardia, it's barely enough to support a small city.
This is a city-building project, a large-scale starport, and an exchange platform—how can that be enough?
Romulus's side said that the Wolf Pack would first send Astartes to train them. At least as the masters of Fenris, you should understand that if you trust the Wings of Dawn in terms of talent, we can provide input here. If you want to do it yourselves, that's fine too.
Look, they've already thought of everything for you.
Logan was getting increasingly awkward during the conversation. "Are you here for charity?" he thought.
Isn't it?
As a prominent part of the Solar Starfield and the intersection of the Hazy Starfield and the Limit Starfield, the Fenris Starfield has a uniquely advantageous geographical location. Various Chaos War Gangs visit it every few days, so how can we not keep a close eye on it?
The purpose of this trip was to untangle the Wolf Pack's mess, since they hadn't signed the Astartes Codex anyway.
Romulus first glanced at Bjorn, then at the other members of the Wolf Pack around him. Well, words spoken at a banquet do have some effect.
Looking at those unshaven faces, he couldn't help but smile optimistically.
See, at least now these wolves will bow respectfully to him; at least their hatred isn't directed at him as an individual anymore.
"Yeah, Logan, you did a great job."
Bjorn patted Logan on the shoulder forcefully, hoisted the axe with one hand, and the lightning claw on his wrist popped out with his movement.
It was a gift from Ramses.
It is said that it becomes more and more unique based on the enemies it kills, and it can also record detailed honors.
Looking at the list of dark angels he had defeated, Bjorn thought this was much better than the one he had used ten thousand years ago.
"Ah."
But Logan was clearly not happy.
the reason is simple.
Following the tradition left by the great wolf king Lemanrus, a trustworthy old wolf needs to be left behind to guard the pack.
The last person to be bullied was Bjorn, and now it's his turn.
Logan's gaze swept over the wolf lords.
Under this gaze, the wolf lords all adopted a "don't touch me" attitude.
Even Harald the Death Wolf, with whom he had the worst relationship, didn't show any provocative expression at this moment, for fear of being dealt with by the psychologically unbalanced alpha wolf.
This is Bjorn's first expedition since regaining his physical form, as he embarks on a campaign alongside the Old Wolf and the Primarch.
If I were left in Fenris, it would be worse than death!
So now nobody dares to mess with Logan, who is already dead.
Except for Bjorn.
"Keep going, you must be just like I was back then!"
Bjorn patted Logan on the shoulder, his smile stretching from ear to ear.
Despite his seemingly dying appearance, this cunning alpha wolf immediately appointed Bjorn as its leader after learning the Primarch's detailed path.
The Dawn Fleet's next stop is the traitorous knight world of Dalowa.
Located in the Nakmonde sub-sector, it is controlled by the Mandecol Knights and also has a large number of Dark Mechanicus members developing there.
There is a Chaos Knight with a minimum guaranteed reward of 1,000.
Just hearing about that number gets countless space wolves excited, and countless wolf cubs are eager to join this expedition.
If it weren't for Bjorn's superior skills, he would have almost been killed by this kid.
'Yes, who can match your hand skills?'
Logan looked at the smug Bjorn and secretly realized he had been too slow.
They should have gone to Wolf Moon to declare Bjorn the alpha wolf first, and then run away beforehand.
As a result, he was too slow and Bjorn caught him and gave him a good beating.
Who in the Fenris system can defeat Bjorn? Have you ever seen anyone use a Frostfire weapon to create a force field that can disintegrate?
Even Magnus would get hit a few times if he came.
That's it.
It was clearly the awakening of an elder, the arrival of a benevolent Primarch, that led Space Wolf to find a new path and begin to develop towards a more prosperous future.
These were all good things, so why did they end up like this?
Logan looked dejected, his gaze sweeping over Ezio the Steel Wolf, making him break out in a cold sweat.
This guy is shrewd too. Knowing there was a huge, daunting expedition going on without any crew, he contacted the Dark Angels Steelwing directly, saying that if he was going to learn, Steelwing was the best choice.
As a result, he ran away on the spot with his wolf guards, leaving the unlucky guys from the Steel Wolves of Dalian who lost the duel to learn alongside the technicians in the foundry city.
Everyone else has a reason to run away, but I don't!
I should never have become that wolf back then.
Logan regretted it for a moment, but in the end, he chose to accept his fate under Bjorn's bullying.
Just stay home and watch the house.
What a joke, who wants to be the wolf?
I'm not going to do it anyway.
Bjorn, carrying his axe, watched Logan's dejected figure walk towards the Forge City, then grinned and followed Romulus onto the Stormbird that had come to pick him up.
You wrestle with various 'heroes' in Fenris, monitor the overall development of Fenris, and expand the number of space wolves.
I followed the Primarch, patrolling the surrounding areas, leading the wolf cubs in battle, and searching for clues about the wolf king.
They were both serving Ruth and the Father.
