Absolute Zone Zero: Please call me the Dragon of Annihilation

Chapter 24 The Fall of the Old Capital: The Unspeakable Secret

Chapter 24 The Fall of the Old Capital—An Unspeakable Secret
"Little sister, do you remember what the teacher once said?" Ling's eyes darted around, and she said hesitantly, "Well... you will meet a mysterious guest in the future. He will be the one who brings you closest to the truth."

"I only remember this much, I can't remember the rest." Ling thought for a long time but still couldn't remember what she said after that, and then playfully stuck out her tongue.

Looking at his younger sister's adorable expression, Zhe shook his head and continued, "When he appears, the whole world will tremble. We must take him back to Void Zero before he grows up; that's where he belongs."

But inside the main teaching building of Elidu...

A series of hurried footsteps echoed through the school building, half-soaked by the hole. A man in a black trench coat with purple flames on his head was carrying an unconscious person in each hand, running frantically through the collapsing building.

"Roar... Roar roar!" Behind them, a group of newly transformed skeletons were constantly approaching. They roared and chased forward recklessly, continuing to crawl forward even when they were tripped by falling debris.

The man in the trench coat caught a glimpse of a window less than five meters away. He immediately turned and ran towards the window that was letting in light. "Crash!" A light bulb in the corridor came loose.

A huge stone slab fell from above. "Bang!" Just as the slab was about to hit the man in the trench coat, he stopped, spun half a circle, and kicked one end of the falling slab, sending it flying.

"Clang!" The flying stone slab smashed the window. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the man in the trench coat went to the window, stepped on the windowsill with one foot and pushed off with the other, creating a beautiful sight in the air.

The shards of glass flying everywhere seemed to add a finishing touch to the dashing scene of the man in the trench coat. "Whoosh! Swish!" A spatial rift appeared and opened in front of him. Without any hesitation, the man in the trench coat forcefully threw the two unconscious people into the spatial rift.

"Thump, thump!" The man in the trench coat crouched down to cushion the impact of his fall. He managed to get up and brush the dust off his clothes. The next second, "Bang! Roar!" came the sound of a massive Fabuti crashing into the wall.

The man in the trench coat turned around unhurriedly, his gaze fixed on the wall ahead. "Rumble!" A large hole appeared as rocks fell, and a gentle breeze ruffled the man's coat. Fabuti raised the Black Core and roared furiously at the man in the trench coat.

"What an impolite fellow. Let me teach you what respect is." With that, the man in the trench coat waved his hand, and a longsword, entirely black and radiating purple starlight, appeared in his hand.

"Roar! Bang!" Fabuti roared, raising his right arm in front of him as he charged towards the man in the trench coat. "Thump thump thump!" The man in the trench coat didn't dodge; instead, he rushed towards the oncoming Fabuti. When they were less than three meters apart, Fabuti had already raised his massive, crystal-like fist high.

A bright yellow light flashed on the fist, and the man in the trench coat stopped in his tracks, holding his longsword horizontally in front of him. "Clang!" Sparks flew as the giant fist struck the longsword, and the powerful force forced the man in the trench coat to move backward half a meter.

"Starlight!" With that, the man in the trench coat vanished, only to reappear three seconds later. He twirled his longsword in a simple flourish before raising it to his face, his other hand stroking the blade, which gleamed coldly in the sunlight.

At this moment, Fabuti was still unaware of what would happen next. Just as Fabuti raised his giant fist to attack again, the man in the trench coat said calmly, "Break!" "Swish swish swish!" Countless white sword lights appeared on Fabuti's body.

"Roar~" Finally, after letting out a mournful howl of despair, Fabuti's massive body dissipated into specks of ethereal matter. The man in the trench coat sheathed his longsword and said in a low voice, "Since you're here, don't you plan to meet me?"

As the words fell, a dark figure descended upon the rooftop of the teaching building. The man had short white hair and wore a black trench coat with several silver darts hanging from it. His eyes were filled with indifference, and a black mask obscured his true appearance.

The man in the trench coat tilted his head to look at the white-haired man's right hand and joked, "What? Are you worried that I can't handle this and you're planning to step in and help?" The white-haired man silently put the dart in his hand into the sword pouch at his waist.

"You know perfectly well why," he said coldly. His gaze then shifted to the crumbling school building beside him, and he asked, "Did you do this?" The man in the trench coat was taken aback, then coughed twice to cover his embarrassment, "Ahem, I accidentally mixed up the experimental data." The white-haired man didn't respond and turned to leave. Before leaving, he finally revealed the purpose of his visit, "The void's eruption is out of control. The higher-ups sent me to ask you if there's any way to stop it."

Upon hearing this, the man in the trench coat seemed to have thought of something, and the purple flames on his head shrank considerably. "Perhaps only that method will work." After saying this, the man in the trench coat fell into reminiscence.

After hearing that the man in the trench coat had a solution, the white-haired man stopped lingering and walked straight into a spatial rift.

Back to the main storyline...

"Fairy, can you help me remove these mosaics?" Zhe's voice rang out in the small room. "Buzz buzz buzz! No." Fairy overloaded when trying to remove the mosaics from the image, as if some mysterious force was preventing Fairy from making the changes.

"Gurgle~" Just as Zhe was at his wit's end, Ling's stomach rumbled at the most inopportune moment. "Brother, I'm hungry, how about we go eat ramen!" Before Zhe could continue thinking, Ling forcefully dragged him out of the small room.

The two had barely left the small room when the computer screen on the desk suddenly lit up. A mysterious loading bar silently appeared in the center of the screen, and Fair's voice sounded again, "Warning! An unknown individual is attempting to breach the firewall."

"Emergency repairs in progress, three seconds countdown, three! two! one..." Just as the countdown ended, another mysterious intrusion crept into Fairy's logic core, as the loading bar continued to fill.

Fairy's logic core began to slow down, and after a series of crackling electrical sounds, it seemed to freeze for several minutes. "Warning! Massive data loss in progress."

When Fairy restarted, she discovered that the intruder had already stolen the rope net number belonging to Zhe Ling and her brother. After her large eyes darted around, Fairy chose silence, unsure whether to speak or not.

Meanwhile, inside the Cretan cavern
Looking at the red-haired girl who had just successfully undergone rebirth, Ming Che couldn't help but blush slightly on his usually cool face. He quickly looked away, took off his outer robe, and handed it to the red-haired girl to put on.

The red-haired girl slowly stood up after getting dressed, her slender, fair feet stepping onto the rough stone path. At this moment, Xiao Bai, who had been sitting on Ming Che's shoulder, moved and gently jumped in front of the red-haired girl.

After sniffing the red-haired girl's scent, Xiaobai took tiny steps to her feet. It gently rubbed its fluffy little head against the girl's feet, letting out an alluring meow.

The red-haired girl slowly squatted down and stroked Xiaobai's back. "Gurgle~ gurgle~" Xiaobai closed its eyes comfortably as it continued to be stroked, making a pleasant gurgling sound in its throat.

Mingche closed his eyes and could feel a strange connection with the other person, as if they were born to be together. "Where is this?" the red-haired girl asked Mingche her first question. Mingche was taken aback at first, then said, "Inside the Cretan Void."

Upon receiving Mingche's answer, the red-haired girl lowered her head, clearly lost in thought. Only fragmented images remained in her fragmented memories. As she tried to recall, a sudden, excruciating pain shot through her brain.

"Ugh! Ugh~ It hurts!" The red-haired girl cried out in pain, clutching her throbbing head with one hand. She began to feel dizzy, and countless fragments of memories swirled in her mind.
