Chapter 776 Conversation in the Sewers

"Not to mention that the team is led by Lady Ash. Lady Ash can easily defeat an attack by multiple banshees."

Zoe was stunned. She knew the Banshee was strong, but she didn't expect her to be this ridiculously strong. Even so, she had no choice but to retreat in the battle beneath the Rhine.

"Then how are we supposed to fight? How is it possible to win? Jules is so strong, isn't he completely unbeatable?"

Zoe was already a high-ranking member of Castells, and Hodge was a war priest of the Imperial Truth; both of them knew the specific details of this battle.

Jules single-handedly repelled two squads of the Banshee, and even nearly captured them, an event that caused a huge uproar in Castel.

Hughes has now personally gone to the front lines at the underground river to oversee operations, and Bloodharbor is also on high alert.

Zoe initially thought it was making a mountain out of a molehill, but now, hearing Hodge's words, she felt a little scared.

Hodge grinned: "Miss Zoe, if one company can't defeat one Banshee, do you think a hundred companies can defeat a hundred Banshees?"

"We definitely can't win. The banshees have a symbiotic contract and can communicate through a mental link. They cooperate perfectly and are definitely more powerful on the battlefield!"

Hodge shook his head.

"In the combat exercise, a company can't defeat a single Banshee, but ten Banshees can't break into a defensive position composed of ten companies."

"Huh? This...this is impossible!"

Ten companies would be more than a thousand people, which would be troublesome to manage and difficult to transmit orders. On the other hand, there are only ten Banshees, and they have a mental link, so they seem much more powerful.

“A thousand men can be meticulously organized into a fire network with no blind spots. If logistics are organized in a unified manner, the efficiency will be far higher than fighting alone. No matter how powerful the Banshee is, there is a limit to the amount of ammunition she can carry. Soldiers, on the other hand, have an easier time in battle—they only need to guard their assigned coverage area.”

"Everyone should do what they are supposed to do and fulfill their responsibilities. That's all that matters in war."

"This is just the case of constructing simple fortifications. If there were large permanent fortifications, we wouldn't need something like the Castel Cathedral; something like the Cataclysmic Prison would suffice."

"Based on this fortification, ten companies of the Guardians of the Faith can withstand a mass charge of one hundred female demons and hold out for a considerable period of time."

"This is the power of the military and the organization."

Zoe listened intently. As an office worker, her understanding of combat was limited to a simple comparison of strength.

She only knew that superhumans had difficulty performing well on the battlefield, but knew very little about why.

After a while, her eyes suddenly lit up: "So Jules him!"

“Yes, I think Jules is very strong. Creating things out of thin air is an unimaginable skill. It might change the course of a battle, but it may not change the outcome of a war.” Hodge stood up and spoke eloquently.

"Jules can summon dozens of dragon breath cannons from the sky in one go, but Castells can build hundreds a day. No matter how strong he is, he can only cover the battlefield in front of him, but Castells' munitions can supply the entire front line."

"No matter how quickly he summons someone, it's still just one person. Castells, on the other hand, has an entire industrial system, with two core cities, hundreds of factories in thirteen industrial zones, and countless production lines."

"And it seems like there are limitations to the weapons he summons!" Zoe said excitedly. "Then we don't actually need to be afraid of him!"

“Unless everyone in the Candlelight Church has his abilities,” Hodge shrugged. Zoe sat back down, her hand lightly touching her chest, feeling her heart pounding.

No wonder the lord doesn't really advocate yield worship; it turns out that compared to simple weapon power, industrial systems, logistics, and organization are far more powerful.

Weapons determine the lower limit of war, but these are the upper limit!

“However, that strange ability is indeed very valuable, if it could actually be used for production.” Hodge licked his lips.

Cognitive intervention brought many problems to Castells's development. All industrial workers had to undergo a fairly high level of training and have a completely correct understanding of the work they were doing.

Cognitive interference has always been viewed as a burden, and no one has ever tried to actively utilize it.

Unfortunately, this inexplicable phenomenon is indeed difficult to control. Not to mention how troublesome the resulting pollution is, it is very difficult to make willpower break through the high wall of reality. Organizing a group of people to have the same idea requires a high degree of consensus.

Achieving cognitive interference in a random direction is easy, but achieving a stable and clearly directional result is very difficult.

Even if cognitive intervention is successfully achieved, it is time-limited; after a period of time, the world will automatically correct the error.

The soap that was edible before didn't last long; it eventually turned into pollution, and the workers who stole the soap even died from the pollution.

"I don't know what methods that pope used to accomplish this, but that choir seems to be able to break through the high walls of reality, directly allowing will to override reality and create things out of thin air."

"If these manufactured things can be used for a long time, they might completely change the landscape of the factory!"

"Even if they are difficult to use, these creations will eventually turn into pollution."

Zoe swallowed hard: "So, these creations can be directly put into the furnace and burned!"

“Then Miss Fountain is going to lose her job,” Hodge laughed.

"Later, after we finish our work here, let's go ask the lord! Perhaps the lord has some other ideas, isn't that Gaia?"

Zoe waved and shouted to Gaia in the distance, "Gaia, we're almost done here. Shall we go find the lord later?"

Gaia looked up and saw her, then walked over: "What's wrong?"

"I've come up with a new way to utilize cognitive intervention!"

"Everyone has thought of that. Monica just suggested that we find a separate stove to cook Jules and we can talk about that later. Right now, the Banshees are reviewing the battle, and many of the Untouchables are injured and receiving treatment in the hospital."

"Later, the lord should issue an executive order, and Bloodharbor and Castel will soon enter a wartime state. In this battle against the Empire, Castel will personally take to the field and launch an attack together with Isabella."

"The general mobilization will begin soon, and you, the chief clerk of Blood Harbor, will be quite busy."

Zoe nodded, her hair bobbing up and down with her nod.

“And one more thing,” Gaia’s gaze shifted to Zoe’s long hair, “not wearing a helmet is a 50-rio fine. Remember to pay it later.”
