Dedicate loyalty to the good empire
Chapter 3 This is fate
Chapter 3 This is fate
The Emperor heard the prayer, and the rain fell the next morning, heavier and more moist.
But the Emperor underestimated Taylor's ability to act.
And the Imperial Guard are not stonemasons after all.
The structure of a castle is obvious, but also tricky and severe. However, a few dog holes caused the collapse of a century-old fortress, which can only be attributed to Taylor's luck.
Who knows how much time and the rainstorm contributed to this, but there was a huge collapse sound and the screams of Taylor from the 36th squad of the 3rd platoon of the 15th regiment of Skadi.
Commissar Tychus finally woke up with anger and dark circles under his eyes.
The next morning, Taylor was taken into the innermost part of the ancient castle, a beautiful place on the top floor, full of stained Gothic glass windows and serious nobles.
They wore beautiful clothes, armor, and wore crests of giant red curled dragons on their bodies.
Just like medieval knights.
Taylor was feasting his eyes on this. After all, the armor those guys wore could be called artifacts, even though they could not withstand any shot from the laser gun in Taylor's hand.
Finally, Tychus led Taylor to a metal throne where an old man sat with a crown on his head and pale skin.
Like a mummy.
He was wearing a red robe, and his limbs, which had atrophied due to age, could no longer be seen, but his voice was still sonorous and powerful.
Several members of the Mechanicus surrounded him. Those ugly cyborgs with highly modified bodies kept using strange equipment to prolong the old man's life.
Taylor guessed he was several hundred years old.
The old man spoke now, his voice full of historical majesty, not loud but very clear.
"This fortress is a full 12000 years old. It was built before our ancestors joined the empire."
"And you destroyed a corner of it. I kindly provided you with everything, and yet you inflicted a wound more exaggerated than those green-skinned barbarians!"
Tychus saluted the old man and replied, "It'll be torn down by the greenskins anyway!"
Taylor suddenly had a change of heart towards his old boss. He was actually defending himself?
But he felt the palm slapping his back again.
Tychus continued. "If you, High King, believe we can survive with this defense, then by all means give it a try."
He held Tyler down with his metal arm, as if afraid he'd run away.
The old man called the Supreme King spoke with a terrifying smile.
"Warrior of the Emperor... can I regard your words as an insult to my family?"
"From the time my ancestors joined the Great Crusade until today, I have never been insulted like this!"
Taylor was suddenly pushed out by Tychus's strong arm.
"This is Taylor, Taylor Kyle Encore."
At the name, the High King's expression softened.
Tychus said, "I can give this soldier to you for a while, until the war is over, as compensation for the damage to the fortress."
The High King smiled. "Why do you think this guy is worth it?"
"If it's just about moral character, then I can just pick anyone from the Knights Templar."
Tychus answered. "This man single-handedly killed thirty cultists, destroyed an enemy command center, and foiled a surprise attack on our own command system, leading our enemies to slaughter each other."
"If this kind of experience is worthless, then my army can't offer any better compensation!"
"and."
Tychus paused, looked at the old man, and said, "He's the one stationed at the Collapse Point."
The High King's gaze towards Taylor suddenly changed from gentle to indifferent, even a little angry.
Taylor immediately realized that he had become a scapegoat!
No, this was his good deed...
He was about to make a retort when the High King spoke.
"My niece, Lady Freeblade, Elena, is short of attendants, so let this hero go."
He emphasized the word "hero," and Taylor replied with a wry smile. "Of course, Your Majesty the Supreme King..."
A few hours later.
Now, Taylor was beginning to regret praying for the raindrops to fall.
The Free Blade's base was outside the castle, and he had to leave with his soldiers first.
There are no Chimera armored vehicles or Valkyrie gunboats, all you have to rely on is a pair of flesh legs.
Taylor said apologetically to his brothers. "It's all my fault. We can't enjoy the comfort of the fortress anymore."
A short and cute girl from Lightling said, looking at the boots on Taylor's feet.
"It's okay, Boss, it tastes better this way..."
Her tone was creepy. Even though she was the team's cook, medic, and sniper, this sentence was too scary.
Taylor cursed. "I allow everyone to have little quirks, but this is absolutely not allowed!"
Taylor immediately sped up his march because he could feel that the longer he walked, the more excited his soldier lady became.
When they crossed the muddy medieval road and arrived at a city, huge metal structures emerged from the buildings.
It was a beautiful giant mech, about 13 meters long, equipped with a storm shield in its right hand and a giant chainsaw sword in its left hand.
Painted entirely red, countless servants and members of the Mechanicus are constantly repairing and maintaining this behemoth inside the city.
Among those messy people, Taylor and his group were not very conspicuous.
Taylor ruffled his jet-black hair and smiled. "Looks like we can rest for a while. We can trade our military rations with the locals for some bacon!"
It was the first time he was so far away from that damn Tychus. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a break, and it looked safe here too!
But he was suddenly called.
"Mr. Taylor Kyle Anchor, are you planning to run away?"
It was an elegant and high-pitched voice, and a white-haired lady in a formal dress slowly walked over.
She has fair skin, beautiful looks, and most importantly, she has a temperament. Compared to the female pervert and the tomboy in Taylor's team, she is incomparable.
Taylor's gentlemanly response: "Oh, ma'am, do I know you?"
The noblewoman replied, "My name is Elena, Freeblade, and I am your master."
"Go and wash yourself first, my servant."
"Then go to my room and wait for me. Remember to wash yourself. I don't like you smelling of sweat~"
Taylor took a long breath and then answered.
"At your service, my lord."
