Chapter 506 Recruiting Super Girls? (Seeking monthly votes! Seeking follow-up subscriptions!)

"Shocking! A giant ice sculpture fell from the sky, and the person inside was him?"

"A new hero has appeared, and she actually has that kind of relationship with Homelander!"

"Who is this new superhero who single-handedly saved all the passengers and crew of the plane? And what is hidden behind this plane crash?"

"The Homelander is selfish and incompetent, and committed premeditated murder. Relevant departments have begun to investigate."

"Supergirl, a body of steel, is more like a superhero than Homelander."

……

A day passed quickly, and the world was spreading information about the new hero, Supergirl, as well as the truth behind what the passengers on the plane had told them.

Shocked the world!

The latter, in particular, spread incredibly fast online, with news that Homelander had failed to come to the rescue, accompanied by footage from the airplane's onboard cameras as irrefutable evidence.

In a very short time, the number of followers on Homelander's social media account plummeted, and the remaining followers also showed a trend of turning into haters.

Meanwhile, the stock valuation of its parent company, Water Corporation, has plummeted, seemingly on the verge of bankruptcy at any moment.

For a time, countless superheroes working for Vought International were filled with apprehension, fearing that the company's collapse would bring their happy lives as superheroes to an end.

"Don't eat pickled radishes!!"

At Vought International headquarters, Homelander watched a cell phone video playing on the news. It showed Homelander, with red eyes, shooing away the passengers and leaving alone with Queen Maeve.

With a bang, he punched the television, shattering it, but that still didn't suffice. He then proceeded to smash other things in the room, his main rage being one of impotent fury.

Madeline Stillwell, the vice president of Vought International, also looked grim. She was the one who gave Homelander the order to rescue the plane passengers. Not only did Homelander fail to complete the mission, but he also gained leverage over the company, causing its stock to plummet and resulting in huge losses.

Within a single day, some of the company's senior management began to condemn Madeline, even threatening to forcibly remove her from her position on this grounds. This enraged her so much that her chest ached, and she even felt like killing Homelander.

Of course, Madeline couldn't and wasn't capable of doing that. Homelander was her trump card, and the two had a twisted relationship. It was precisely because of this that she could manipulate Homelander into obeying her every word. This was also one of the reasons why the company's higher-ups were so excited and dared not make any rash moves against her.

That's why, even though she was furious inside, Madeline tried her best to maintain a gentle tone, comforting Homelander and even resorting to the "breast milk therapy" that she hadn't used in a long time, to calm him down and arrange the subsequent public relations plan.

"The only solution now is to recruit that supergirl into the company and then announce to the outside world that the plane crash was a rescue operation carried out by the two of you."

Madeline stroked Homelander's head and explained the method she had already thought of, her eyes seemingly gleaming with shrewdness.

"What do you mean?"

The man from the motherland raised his head, milk stains still lingering in his mouth, and the anger in his eyes, which had subsided, seemed to be boiling over again.

"Don't be angry, listen to me first."

Madeline quickly coaxed her a couple of times before explaining her plan in detail.

"This plane crash was an accident. We could easily claim that Vought first sent you to rescue the passengers, but the plane went out of control because the assailant killed the captain."

Since you yourself don't have the ability to safely lift the plane, Vought International sent another superhero to help—Supergirl.

Madeline didn't mention the passengers' problems; things that could be settled with money weren't worth mentioning. As for Homelander threatening them with his heat vision, she could just attribute it to recent work stress and emotional instability, at most losing a few fans.

Moreover, as we all know, the internet has no memory. As long as we upload more juicy gossip about other superheroes, after a while, no one will probably remember these things.

"You want to recruit that woman, but don't forget there was another guy there. Judging from his tone, he seemed to want to go against the Vought Corporation."

At this point, the man's tone was very unnatural.

He didn't tell Madeline that he had been easily defeated by the guy who called himself the "Lord of Justice." Although there was an element of surprise involved, the thought of the scene still stirred a sense of fear in Homelander's heart.

"It's alright. In this world, everything has a price tag. As long as the price is tempting enough, there's nothing we can't buy, just like those superheroes outside."

As Madeline said this, a fire ignited in her eyes.

Two unfamiliar superheroes: the supergirl who can easily lift a plane aside, and the other who is evenly matched with Homelander (Homelander's portrayal). If we could recruit these two, what great things wouldn't we accomplish in the future?

Upon hearing this, the man's expression softened slightly, but it quickly turned grim again.

Like Madeline, he also believed that the Supergirl and the so-called Lord of Justice were just mercenaries, no different from other superheroes in the end, either for fame or for profit. As long as the direction was right, he could definitely buy them off and make them his dogs.

However, this only benefits the Water Company, while his position as the company's top executive is somewhat insecure.

After all, those two were clearly no weaker than him, and perhaps even stronger. If Vought International were to invest heavily in marketing for them, their fan base might soon surpass his own, which would be worse than killing him.

"Don't worry, you will always be the company's strongest superhero, and no two amateurs can replace you."

Seemingly sensing Homelander's thoughts, Madeline quickly offered words of comfort.

This time she wasn't lying. After all, Supergirl and Lord of Justice had never appeared before, as if they had popped out of thin air, and their strength was so great. There must be something fishy going on behind the scenes. Even if they were recruited into the company, they had to be used with caution.

The company is currently investigating the identities and backgrounds of these two individuals, and there is strong suspicion that someone within the company stole a portion of Compound V, creating two powerful superhumans who are not under the company's control, in an attempt to rise to the top and enter the company's upper echelons.

The funniest thing is that someone actually suspected her of the whole thing, which almost made Madeline laugh out loud.

If that's the case, it's like she has three Homelander-level superheroes under her command. So, let alone Vought International, she'd be willing to risk everything, even running for president of the United States.

Just then, there was a rapid knock on the door, and then Madeline's assistant, Ashley Barrett, rushed in, holding a tablet and speaking in a flustered manner.

"Boss, something terrible has happened!"

"what happened again!"

Madeline frowned and glanced at her downtrodden assistant before turning her gaze to the tablet.

The next second, his pupils contracted instantly.
