Chapter 17 Penguin: I’m the boss!

Chapter 17 Penguin: I’m the boss!

Although his vision and hearing were temporarily deprived by the blindfold and earplugs, Martin was not panicked.

His nose twitched, and he smelled a strong mixture of leather and high-end perfume. He put his hands on the seat and could tell the speed of the vehicle from the degree of vibration.

What's more, Martin is alone and only needs one chance.

The security measures that Penguin had taken so much trouble to implement were of no use to him.

He leaned back in his seat and relaxed.

Hearing Candy, who was driving in front, let out a sigh of relief, Martin smiled and began to rest.

Unbeknownst to the secretary, as she drove out of the garage, a blue robin quietly followed her under the cover of night and silently fired a tracker at her car.

"Oracle, I have locked onto Penguin's secretary Candy. There is a young man with red hair in her car."

Nightwing rode his motorcycle, slowly weaving through the traffic, seeking help from the girl in the Batcave.

"That young man's name is Martin, a world-class martial artist. He has never failed since his debut... Wait, he seems to have appeared near the antenna that uploads encrypted files."

The oracle was very efficient. It not only found obvious information, but also uncovered some clues that were difficult for ordinary people to discover.

Nightwing's face under the mask showed a surprised expression: "Could he be the one who tipped us off?"

"There is insufficient evidence right now, so you have to make your own judgment."

"damn it!"

Nightwing, who hurried back to Gotham from Bluhaven, muttered to himself, and then asked, "What on earth is Batman doing? This is his city, and he called me here, but he just left it alone?"

Oracle listened to the complaints in his headset and reminded, "Focus, Nightwing. Now is not the time for you to get into a fight with Batman."

"I don't care about the old guy."

Ye Yi said something that was not in his mind, and then turned his attention to the vehicle in front of him, holding its tail tightly.

……

"Mr. Martin, we're here!"

After an unknown amount of time, Martin heard Candy's gentle voice, took off his eye mask and headphones, squinted his eyes, and adjusted to the strong light coming from outside the car.

After his vision became clear again, he got out of the car and looked around, and found himself in a tunnel-like place. The long corridor was completely covered with steel plates, and there was a headlight every few meters above his head, illuminating every corner of the corridor.

Heavily armed men were carrying piles of crates, most of which contained weapons, while a small number were handled with such care that no one knew what they contained.

There were even pickup trucks and off-road vehicles running in the corridor.

Martin silently kept all of this in mind and waved his hand expressionlessly: "Let's go. I'm beginning to lose interest in this overly mysterious meeting."

Candy didn't dare to speak. She just smiled awkwardly and made a gesture of invitation to Martin.

The corridor was very long and no one knew where the other end led to, but the end Martin was going to led to a huge vault door that almost blocked the entire tunnel.

Candy stepped forward and spoke a few words to the camera. The steel pillars on the huge steel door retracted from the depressions one by one and slowly opened outwards under the action of the electric propulsion structure.

"Welcome, welcome, my friend, please forgive my impoliteness!"

The Penguin held the umbrella that he never let go of, opened his arms and made a gesture as if he was going to give a hug.

Martin didn't make any movement, his eyes instantly locked on the burly man in black armor behind the Penguin.

He sneered, "I was wondering today, I just arrived in Gotham, where did a group of lunatics come from to kill me. It turns out to be your people."

Martin's eyes moved down and fell on the Penguin.

This big guy who had fought his way up from the bottom of Gotham suddenly felt a chill on his back and became much more wary of Martin.

But the Penguin's face was filled with a sunny smile, as if Martin was his brother whom he had never met:
"Mr. Martin, everything that happened during the day was a misunderstanding. Let me introduce you, this is the Arkham Knight..."

"What happened today wasn't a misunderstanding."

Arkham Knight didn't give Penguin any face at all. He interrupted him directly and even ruined his show.

Martin shook his head and said, "Mr. Cobblepot's treatment here is indeed good. Subordinates can directly talk to their superiors. It seems that I did not find the wrong person." After being ridiculed by two people, the Penguin still had a smile on his face: "I don't have the honor of being the boss of Arkham Knight. He is the support given to me by my ally, so he can be regarded as a collaborator."

Of course Martin knew that the Penguin's ally was the League of Assassins, and this cold Arkham Knight was the former second-generation Robin - Jason Todd.

But he did not pursue the topic further. Instead, he pointed at the Arkham Knight and said, "This guy is a collaborator? Then what am I? I killed all his men in one go today."

"you wanna die!"

Speaking of those sorcerers, Arkham Knight instantly became furious, like an angry beast.

"It's not certain who will die!"

Martin narrowed his eyes, clenched his fists, and confronted him tit for tat.

The Penguin was overwhelmed by the scene and stretched out his two short hands to try to separate Martin and the Arkham Knight.

Candy and another secretary, Tracy, also grabbed Martin and Arkham Knight's arms respectively and tried to pull the two apart.

But the combined strength of the three of them was no different from an extra feather on Martin and the Arkham Knight's shoulders.

"enough!"

The Penguin finally couldn't bear it anymore. He was a gangster boss, not a street patrolman.

Today was supposed to be a meeting between two powerful men, not a farce like a child's fight.

"You're leaving right now?"

The Penguin waved his umbrella, pointed at the Arkham Knight, and ordered him to leave.

"Are you sure?" Arkham Knight broke free from Tracy and questioned the Penguin with his head down.

The Penguin was enraged: "This is my territory. I am entertaining my guests. Get out of here right now."

"Hmph, then you'd better take care of yourself!" Arkham Knight sneered and left the vault directly.

Martin also pushed away Candy who was holding his shoulder, and asked the Penguin with dissatisfaction: "Where did you find this young man? He has no manners at all."

The Penguin Man seemed to be afraid of something and didn't want to mention the matter again. Instead, he invited Martin to take a seat at the banquet that had been prepared long ago.

The vault door was locked with a bang.

The two people at the banquet were just flattering each other about business, and they swallowed the sumptuous meal as they spoke.

After the meal, while waiting for dessert, Martin shook his red wine glass and exclaimed, "It's amazing that such a delicious meal can be prepared in such a closed environment. It seems that Mr. Cobert has put a lot of thought into it."

Although the Arkham Knight left, he discovered that there were other gunmen hiding in the vault. Although they did not show up, they pointed their guns at him.

He could only endure and look for an opportunity to launch a fatal blow.

"Mr. Martin is a world-class martial artist. I can't be too prepared to meet a friend like you."

The Penguin raised his glass, and so did Martin.

The two were about to clink glasses when an alarm suddenly sounded in the vault.

"We're under attack, it's Nightwing...Ah!"

The alarm stopped abruptly.

"Nightwing is nothing."

Martin slapped the table, stood up, and said, patting his chest: "I will catch him now, as a way to repay Mr. Cobblepot for the banquet."

"There's no need for Mr. Martin to take action. I've already been prepared."

The Penguin waved his hand and said regretfully: "I originally prepared these for Batman, but I didn't expect that only Nightwing came. It's really a waste of talent!"
