Gotham Suburbs Underground.
The Batmobile's engine roared, driving the wheels to spin at high speed, passing through the runway under the waterfall and into the Batcave, and stopped steadily on the transport platform.
Batman left the Batmobile, and Alfred, dressed in a black suit, came up to him and said with a frown, "Bad news, Master Bruce. I reviewed every detail of yesterday's operation as you requested, and did not find the so-called abnormality you mentioned."
"I'm not crazy, Alfred!"
Batman took off his helmet, revealing a handsome face with firm lines and a slightly weathered look.
That was Bruce Wayne's face.
"The man who was electrocuted is dead, that's an indisputable fact. There must be someone else in the cabin at the time, and we need to find him. Even if they have to use hypnosis or drugs on me, it doesn't matter."
There are more things Bruce hasn't said yet, such as the museum theft that was solved and the two million dollars that disappeared from the Wayne Group's account.
He spent half a day visiting the participants in the relevant cases, but none of them remembered anything special happening yesterday.
Even Bruce himself only had a vague feeling that something was wrong, and there was nothing abnormal in the memory in his mind.
All his preparations against mental attacks failed and didn't even serve as a warning.
Others would just laugh off this feeling, but the suspicious Bruce would never let go of any clues.
Alfred would not doubt his young master's feelings, but he did not think that he could find the other party's whereabouts by running around Gotham.
The old housekeeper was about to give some advice when a girl's voice suddenly came from the communicator:
"Bruce, I just received a coded document related to the League of Assassins."
"Roger that, Oracle."
When working, Bruce always calls others by their code names.
He and Alfred soon arrived at the large platform in the center of the Batcave.
Bruce walked towards the red-haired girl sitting in the wheelchair, his eyes fixed on the huge monitor with only one line of words on it.
"Penguin's allies are the League of Assassins!"
Bruce frowned and asked expressionlessly, "Oracle, who sent this encrypted document?"
The red-haired girl moved her hands on the keyboard, and the map on the monitor kept moving: "I have locked the location where the other party uploaded the encrypted file, and the equipment they used is ours."
Bruce immediately thought of the man he was tracking.
Gordon once borrowed a set of equipment from Lucius, but he has no memory of doing it.
Bruce immediately put the bat helmet back on, but when he saw the words "Assassin's League", he stopped again.
After a moment's silence, Batman said, "Contact Nightwing. I need his help to track down the Penguin."
"Who is the mysterious man you are tracking?" Alfred was surprised that Batman suddenly changed his target.
Batman explained slowly in a dull voice changed by a voice changer: "Compared to the mysterious man who would alert us, the reappearance of the Assassin's League is the biggest trouble."
"That mysterious man has not done anything to harm Gotham yet, and the League of Assassins wants to destroy this city at every turn."
Batman may be paranoid, stubborn, and obstinate, but he still has a clear mind and can determine who his biggest enemy is.
After saying that, he turned and walked into the elevator, returned to the Batmobile, stepped on the accelerator, and rushed directly out of the Batcave.
Martin came to the Ice Peak Hotel again. The clouds in the sky had changed from dark gray to black, taking away the last light of Gotham.
The hotel was still bustling, with luxury cars of all kinds streaming in front of the door, men in high-end suits and women in sequined long skirts coming in and out, as if this grand occasion would last forever.
He walked into the crowd and headed towards the hotel, and was recognized as soon as he reached the door.
"Master Martin, Ms. Candy has been waiting for you for a long time!"
Penguin's subordinate Big Mouth recognized Martin from the crowd and immediately came up to him, bowing with great respect, not daring to be negligent in the slightest. "Lead the way!"
Martin maintained the character he had played out during the day and just waved his hand arrogantly.
When Big Mouth saw Martin, he thought of the dozen brothers who were knocked down in the morning. He didn't dare to have any objection to Martin's orders and just led the way obediently.
Soon, Martin arrived at the top floor of the Ice Hotel. Big Mouth pushed open the door of the Penguin's office, and Candy, dressed in a professional suit and high heels, walked out with a smile on her face.
Martin snorted in dissatisfaction and turned away.
Candy didn't know what she had done to displease the gentleman, so she quickly chased after him and said humbly, "Mr. Martin, how did I fail to entertain you well and make you unhappy?"
Her voice trembled as she spoke.
Penguin Man squeezed out an evening specifically for her recommendation.
If Martin hadn't shown up, she would have been chopped into pieces by her capricious boss, thrown into a meat grinder, and eventually become part of many sausages.
"I'm here to see Penguin. Where is he?"
Martin stopped and stared at the female secretary standing in front of him. His black pupils were like dark clouds before a storm, giving people a great sense of oppression.
"I arrived half an hour early to show my respect. But he played this empty city trick on me, treating me like a street thug who no one wants?"
Candy looked at the furious Martin, like a docile sheep meeting an angry lion. She subconsciously took a few steps back, suppressing the physiological reaction of fear and said, "You misunderstood. Mr. Cobert has no disrespect for you. It's just that it's inconvenient for him to appear in public, so let us take you to the meeting place secretly."
"What a big rack."
Martin continued to act, crossing his arms over his chest, and snorted, "The Penguin thinks too highly of himself. There is more than one gangster boss in Gotham. Since that guy doesn't know what respect is, I'll go find someone else."
After saying that, he pushed away Candy who was blocking his way and strode out the door.
Candy pressed on: "This is all my fault. If you are angry, blame me! When we meet, I will let you do whatever you want."
Hearing this, Martin stopped walking along the stairs, stared at Candy and said, "You are a very loyal secretary!"
Candy laughed awkwardly. She just wanted to survive.
"Well, considering your loyalty, I can forgive Penguin this time."
Candy breathed a sigh of relief, as if she was liberated.
"But remember!" Martin suddenly grabbed her neck and said grimly, "I hope there won't be any accidents when we meet next time."
Candy's heart instantly jumped into her throat. She raised her hands and said tremblingly, "I promise you, there will never be such an accident again."
"You'd better keep your word, or you'll suffer the consequences."
Martin took full control of the initiative and threw the secretary away.
"Let's go!"
Candy touched her neck. Although she was not hurt, she had no intention of resisting Martin at this moment and obediently led the way to the garage.
"I'll save you some effort." Martin saw the blindfold and headphones in the car, sneered, and put them on himself.
Candy quickly started the car and thought fearfully, these bosses are not easy to serve, I should have found a job in the metropolis.
