Chapter 883, 93. Hansen, there's no escaping him now!

Li De stared at the creatures that appeared before him and found that they looked very much like the extinct creatures he knew.

Deinonychus

Li De recalled the information he had heard that biotechnology was researching the resurrection of ancient organisms, and it seemed that these were the rumored experimental subjects.

Even an experienced agent like Li De couldn't help but have his childhood fantasies about dinosaurs. He even remembered the classic old movie about cloning and resurrecting prehistoric giants. Of course, the so-called 'resurrection' in the movie was just a replica pieced together using modern genes.

But biotechnology companies are completely different. With their technological capabilities, the so-called 'ancient resurrection' is probably a real way of bringing long-extinct species back to life.

Fighting against dinosaurs, especially such obviously modified ones, was indeed a first for Li De.

Slightly out of breath, Li De's expression was focused and serious.

For special agents, there are two situations that are most dangerous during combat.

One possibility is encountering the enemy without any preparation, and the other is having no knowledge of the enemy's intelligence or fighting methods.

Li De has encountered both types of battles before, even both at the same time, and he survived both. Today will be no exception.

"boom!"

Gunshots shattered the brief silence. It wasn't Li De, but Albert Murphy who fired first. The bullet grazed Li De's shoulder and blasted a crater in the wall behind him.

The mechanical dinosaur closest to Li De slammed its hind legs off the ground and pounced in a blur. Its speed far exceeded expectations, and its metallic claws drew a cold, sharp light in the dim light.

Li De did not engage in a direct confrontation. His 'sacrificial pistol' spewed fire, but the bullets did not hit the dinosaurs. Instead, they struck the fire sprinkler heads at the top of the passageway.

Thankfully, the company that built the stadium didn't shoddy the tunnels. Even though it was abandoned before it was finished, some of the infrastructure was completed and used by the Ghost Dogs.

"puff--!"

The icy water curtain poured down instantly, blurring everyone's vision and interfering with the judgment of the mechanical creatures that relied on optical sensors. The attacking Deinonychus paused slightly.

Before Murphy and Hansen could see the situation again with their prosthetic eyes, Li De seized the opportunity to retreat rapidly, and with a flick of his wrist, a miniature stun grenade rolled to the ground.

"Om-!"

Intense light and loud noises raged in the confined space. Murphy instinctively turned his head and closed his eyes, and Hansen couldn't help but raise his hand to shield his eyes. Even the mechanical dinosaurs let out chaotic roars.

However, Li De's goal remained clear. The instant the stun grenade exploded, he used his memory of the location to move sideways like a ghost, trying to bypass the dinosaur barrier in front of him and close the distance with Hansen and the lark.

"Stop him!" Hansen growled.

Another Deinonychus lurking on the flank suddenly lashed out with its steel whip-like tail, sweeping towards Li De's lower body with a whistling sound. Li De leaped up and barely dodged it, but his steps were already unsteady when he landed. The strength and coordination of these modified creatures far exceeded that of ordinary soldiers.

'Is he more difficult to deal with than I imagined, or has my skill level declined?' Murphy also came to his senses, and the Copperspotted Hound in his hand began to roar, the bullets weaving a net of fire to block Li De's dodging space.

Li De found himself on the defensive, struggling to maneuver between the dinosaurs' claws and tails and Murphy's barrage of bullets. His 'sacrificial pawns' fired in quick bursts, the bullets hitting the dromaeosaurs' joints and sensors precisely, sending up bursts of sparks that slowed their attack but could not inflict fatal damage. These creatures' armor was clearly specially reinforced.

Li De's discard pistol had been modified. Originally a military-grade weapon called "Dikang," Li De converted it into a silenced weapon, making it more concealed in combat and assassinations. However, it still sacrificed some power when necessary. Unless charged for a three-round burst, ordinary single shots were simply not enough to penetrate thick armor.

Hansen watched all this with a cold eye, while slowly retreating with the lark deeper into the bunker entrance through the other opened passage. Time was still on his side; once inside the bunker, everything outside would turn to ashes. Only then would it be his turn to step in and buy time.

The agent was hurt by the lark's behavior, but Hansen would not hesitate for a moment. Even if it meant sacrificing everyone, he was determined to win!

Li De saw through Hansen's intentions and was extremely anxious, but he knew that acting impulsively would only hasten his death, and he had to create a perfect opportunity.

His gaze swept over the lark again, and suddenly he noticed a faint, different kind of light in her unfocused eyes, and her lips moved almost imperceptibly.

There was no sound, but Li De understood the lip reading.

Is that coordinate number a location?
A surge of power instantly coursed through her body, and she remained conscious.

Li De's spirits lifted, and he suddenly lunged to the side, dodging a deadly combined attack. At the same time, the miniature launcher on his wrist fired a grappling hook, which stuck into the pipe above the passage. He swung up like a pendulum, temporarily escaping the ground-based onslaught.

This miniature transmitter was inspired by the monomolecular wire that Li De used after collaborating with KK. For an agent, a device that allows for rapid emergency movement in a short time is really useful.

He adjusted his posture in mid-air, aiming the 'sacrifice' at Murphy below.

In his view, this was the perfect opportunity!

Gunshot!

The bullet struck Murphy precisely in a vital spot.

However, just as the bullet was about to hit, the mechanical dinosaur that had been hit in the joint by Li De and was moving slightly sluggishly seemed to receive some kind of command and suddenly used its steel body to block Murphy's side!
"Qiang!"

Sparks flew as the bullet embedded itself deeply into the Deinonychus's reinforced armor plates, failing to penetrate, but the impact still caused the mechanical behemoth to let out an angry roar.

Murphy broke out in a cold sweat and quickly retreated, hiding himself more behind the dinosaurs. He switched his 'Ghost Hound' Copperspotted Serpent to short bursts, no longer aiming for suppressive fire, but rather for more precise blocking of Li De's movement route.

Just then, the hidden door in the wall through which Hansen had taken the lark suddenly closed, and the two figures vanished from Li De's sight in an instant, leaving only a cold, unmarked wall.

However, there was not a trace of helplessness in Li De's eyes.

He had already memorized the coordinates given by the lark. As long as he dealt with the people and dinosaurs in front of him, he could track them down quickly with his skills.

Hansen, there's no escaping it now!
