Chapter 7: Under the Brilliance
Chapter 7: Under the Brilliance
While driving to Stark Industries, Su Ze was not in a very peaceful mood.
Although he barely passed the first hurdle of coming to this world, the doubts that followed occupied his mind, and the words that had floated from the pager before still lingered in his heart.
He didn't know what it was, nor did he know what the words meant, but what he knew was that this thing was most likely the key to helping him gain a foothold here.
'Can you convey your thoughts and ideas to any life in the universe?'
Touching the palm-sized hard object in his pocket, Su Ze quickly figured out how to use and what it did.
Strictly speaking, this is equivalent to a cosmic phone, except that it only allows oneself to transmit words, and cannot receive feedback from the other party, let alone have real communication.
On the surface, this thing is undoubtedly a tasteless chicken rib, but if you think about it carefully, this thing is an extremely terrifying object no matter where it is placed.
Unilateral communication, or real-time transmission across a distance of light years, in the eyes of some intelligent life forms that are not advanced civilizations, this thing is no different from an "oracle".
As long as you want, you can establish your own beliefs on an uncivilized planet by transmitting some scientific and technological information over long distances.
Not to mention that it's far away, he can now transmit the sound to the ears of Tony Stark who is beyond the stars. At this point in time, he and Nebula should still be floating in the universe.
However, Su Ze did not act rashly.
He was not prepared to expose his abilities without being sure of his own safety, not to mention that he had not studied those bloody words thoroughly.
It is not known where these words came from, nor how many similar [artifacts] there are in this world, so in the absence of a certain self-protection ability, Su Ze still hopes to keep a low profile.
Based on the description in the bloody text, what can be guessed now is that the appearance of the [artifact] is closely related to the user's "obsession".
But Su Ze is still not sure what the obsession specifically refers to, and whether this obsession is related to heroes or superhumans. If he wants to figure this out, the first thing he needs to do is to get in touch with more artifacts as soon as possible.
What Su Ze was eyeing were some items left behind by the superheroes.
If Fury's relics can activate those bloody words, then based on this condition, other heroes and even villains should have the same obsession.
I just don’t know whether this guess is accurate.
Speechless all the way.
Su Ze was so upset that he didn't care about the chaos outside the car window.
He just wanted to get to Stark Industries as soon as possible, keep his identity, and see if there was any chance to get other things that could activate the scarlet text.
Stark Industries was originally a landmark building in New York, but since Tony Stark transformed the company into a new energy industry, he directly sold Stark Tower and even moved the Avengers base away.
Some people say that Stark Industries has been suppressed and even the government is unwilling to support it. Others say that after the previous attacks, Tony Stark is worried that someone will cause civilian casualties in retaliation against him, so he moved the base to a remote place.
But whatever the reason, New York today is no longer the New York of eight years ago.
Eight years ago, there was laughter and joy here. Children could see Iron Man flying through the sky through the window, and the biggest thing people had to worry about was the possibility of being robbed by thugs after the night shift.
But everything changed after the portal was opened above the city.
More and more superhumans are appearing in people's sight, and more and more violence and destruction are squeezing into people's daily lives. Slowly, people are becoming numb and losing their vision of a better future. As Baron Zemo said, the world is changing people's hearts, and few people are willing to face the future with a smile, because no one knows whether the battle between heroes and villains will smash a building in their faces.
After turning an uphill bend, the gate of Stark Industries was right in front of us.
Similar to the outside world, the situation here is not much better. The sudden finger-snap crisis has caused panic among the staff of the entire company. Even after several hours, the situation here has not improved.
People kept running in and out of the gate, and some people collapsed in the green belt on the side of the road and cried bitterly. It was obvious that their families had lost contact.
After parking the car, Su Ze casually threw the car keys into the driver's seat. At this point, the car's mission was completely completed.
Walking towards the gate of Stark Industries, the first thing that caught Su Ze's attention was a burly middle-aged man standing at the gate.
The man was standing next to a crying woman with a tissue in his hand, seemingly trying to comfort her, but at the same time he was also answering the phone, which made him unpopular with both sides.
Although he had already guessed the other party's identity, Su Ze was not completely sure, so he went straight to the other party and stretched out his hand.
"Agent Kaia."
Although most of the team members are now called agents within S.H.I.E.L.D., the title of agents is easier for them to be known to the outside world or to friendly parties.
After all, there are too many professions that can be called agents. If the other party misunderstands him as an FBI agent, it will be more troublesome. In order to leave an impression on the other party, Su Ze directly gave up his identity.
After hearing Su Ze's words, the burly man was stunned at first, but then he quickly reacted. He clamped the phone with his shoulder and freed his hand to shake hands with Su Ze.
"Happy Hogan."
As soon as he introduced himself, Su Ze knew he was not mistaken. This guy was Tony Stark's driver and bodyguard. No, he should be the security director by now.
Just as Su Ze was about to say something, Happy suddenly stretched out a finger, motioning Su Ze to wait a moment, then he snatched the phone and spoke anxiously.
"Calm everyone down, okay? I repeat, this is not a terrorist attack against Stark Industries. The whole world is under attack. What? Where is Tony? How should I know? Go watch the news, idiot!"
After saying that, Happy hung up the phone directly. Then he stuffed a box of tissues into the hands of the distressed female employee, and then turned to look at Su Ze.
"Agent Kaiya, right? I'm sorry you saw it too, but I'm a little busy here. The plane to pick you up is on the way. How about you wait in my office first?"
This didn't sound fake, Happy was already sweating profusely from anxiety.
In this regard, Su Ze did not reject the other party's kindness.
"If it's not too much trouble."
"No trouble, no trouble."
Happy waved his hands and led Su Ze inside.
"Come with me. It's quieter over there. I have something I want to ask you."
