Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy

Chapter 6 Gringotts Vault

Chapter 6 Gringotts Vault
"Yes," said Hagrid, pulling something out of his pocket.

He first took out two dormice and placed them on the counter, then took out a cattail, and finally, after searching for a long time, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Found it." Hagrid held up a small golden key.

The goblin took the key, examined it carefully, and then gave it back to Hagrid.

"It should be no problem."

"I also have a handwritten letter from Professor Dumbledore," Hagrid said nonchalantly, pulling a crumpled letter from his pocket. "It's about 'that thing' in vault 713."

Harry knew that Hagrid was talking about something confidential, but Hagrid's voice was so loud that even if he didn't want to hear it, he heard the words "the thing in vault 713".

What was this, plotting out loud? Harry didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

The goblin took Hagrid's letter and carefully examined the magic mark on it. After reading it in detail, he nodded and said, "Very good, I'll have someone take you there right away - Griphook!"

Along with the fairy's shout, a short fairy in formal clothes came to them.

"Okay, let's go." Hagrid patted Harry's shoulder and motioned for him to follow: "I'll take you to get the money first, and then we'll do our business."

"Hey, your animals." The goblin at the counter reminded loudly.

Hagrid then remembered that there were his little animals on the table. He walked back, put the still confused Dormouse and Cattail back into his big pocket, then turned around and strode after Griphook.

Harry and Hagrid followed Griphook in front, got on the cart, and drove all the way to the vault.

The cart was moving along the track so fast that the cold air whistled past Harry and it hurt his eyes.

Looking around, he saw that neither Hagrid nor Griphook noticed him, so he put on a small piece of armor to protect the front of his face, trying to block out the strong cold wind.

"Hagrid, do you think our family is really rich?" Harry asked worriedly.

"Don't worry, Harry." Hagrid said to Harry, "You actually worry about whether your family has money. Haha, if James knew, he would definitely-"

Before he could finish his words, the cart squeaked to a stop.

"We're here," Griphook said in a businesslike tone.

Hagrid stepped forward and opened the vault with the key -

"Wow……"

Harry was dazzled by the gold coins piled up like a mountain in the vault. Could it be that deep underground in London, he actually had such a small fortune?
For no reason, he thought of the beautiful girl with long light blonde hair that he met on the train in the first grade.

The girl was very proud and had the temper of a young lady. She always showed off her father to others, laughed at his poverty, and was always eager to take him as her follower.

Especially during the summer vacation in the second grade...

"Oh? What are you doing here? Buying a second-hand robe?"

Outside the door of the Elegant Wizard Clothing Store, Cassandra Malfoy looked at the reserved Harry with a haughty look and raised her chin.

Harry didn't mind the girl's ridicule. After all, compared to the Dursleys, her way of speaking was very soft.

"Yeah." Harry smiled at the blonde girl, "Is there anything here that you've worn?" Hearing what Harry said, the girl's grey eyes showed a look of disgust, and she turned and left the Elegant Wizard Clothing Store.

That afternoon, he received two old Slytherin robes -

"Harry, Harry?"

Harry came back to his senses. He looked up at Hagrid, who said with a smile, "See, I didn't lie to you. Your family left you a large sum of money."

"Yeah." Harry had never seen so much money before. He was still thinking absentmindedly, in this way, does that mean he is richer than the Malfoy family?
"These gold coins are called Galleons, the silver coins are called Sickles, and the copper coins are called Knuts," Hagrid explained carefully to Harry. "Seventeen Sickles are worth one Galleon, and twenty-nine Knuts are worth one Sickle - how about that, simple enough?"

As he spoke, Hagrid helped Harry put money into his pockets.

Simple enough?
No matter how many times Harry wanted to complain about wizarding currency.

When will the wizarding world learn from the Muggles and reform its currency system? Even the old-fashioned wizarding world, like England, abolished its original currency system in 1971.

"Okay, this should be enough for you for two semesters. I'll keep the rest for you." Hagrid filled Harry's pocket with gold coins, then turned to Griphook and said, "Now take us to the underground vault 713. But could you please drive slower?"

"There's only one speed," Griphook said in a very formal manner.

Hagrid spread his hands at Harry, indicating that he was powerless to do anything.

Harry didn't care too much, after all, he had the armor to protect him mini.

There was no keyhole on the door of vault 713, and Harry noticed that right away.

"Stand back." Griphook said solemnly. He stretched out a long finger and knocked gently on the door, and the door disappeared little by little.

"Anyone other than a Gringotts goblin should not do this," Griphook warned. "Unless you want to be sucked through the door and never get out—"

Such a super-secure underground vault must contain very valuable items, Harry thought, and watched Griphook and Hagrid go in and come out a short while later.

Almost instantly, Harry felt a strong breath of ancient magic coming from Hagrid's arms.

He felt a little regretful now. If he had known earlier, he would have gone over to take a look and see what it was.

Ancient magic is quite strange. Before the age of fifteen, one can only feel the magical aura but cannot use ancient magic.

And his intuition told him that as long as he had the help of that thing, age would no longer be a problem.

"What's that?" Harry asked with interest, trying his best to act like an eleven-year-old boy.

"Oh, no, Harry, I can't tell you that." Hagrid said quickly: "This is a task assigned to me by Headmaster Dumbledore. He asked me to send it to Hogg-well, he strictly asked me to keep it confidential, so even if it's you, I can't tell you, please forgive me."

"It's okay." Harry nodded in understanding. Since it was a secret, he couldn't force Hagrid to speak.

After all, in his heart, this tall and honest Hagrid has become his friend.

He also heard what Hagrid hadn't finished saying.

Since it is going to be sent to Hogwarts, it means that this thing will not be gone for a while, and it will not be too late to study it after school starts.
