Chapter 152 The Surge (Part 2)

Only Jiang Zheng and Li Yasong remained in the study.

Jiang Zheng tried to get up, but after taking only a few steps, he stumbled in front of Li Yasong and fell forward unsteadily.

Li Yasong reacted quickly, immediately extending his left hand to help, while Jiang Zheng glanced down at him.

She casually draped her arm over his for support, then asked in a deep, hoarse voice, "The latest model?"

Li Yasong replied, "Yes, it was just developed yesterday. It's very pure and has a strong effect. You'll probably feel very uncomfortable the first time you touch this stuff."

Jiang Zheng asked coldly again, "What about the dosage?"

Li Yasong paused for a moment, knowing what he wanted to ask. After a brief thought, he cut to the chase and answered directly: "At this dosage, it is almost impossible for a normal human not to become addicted."

"Heh," Jiang Zheng sneered, "Making people risk their lives and then taking theirs."

Upon hearing this, a strange glint flashed in Li Yasong's dark eyes, hidden behind a pair of thick glasses, but he quickly concealed it.

Li Yasong whispered a reminder: "Brother Zheng, be careful with your words and actions."

Jiang Zheng withdrew his gaze from the corner of his eye. At this moment, his stomach began to spasm, his heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and his breathing became rapid.

His fist clenched uncontrollably, as if he was trying his best to suppress something, and he said with difficulty, "I'll go back first. It's not appropriate for me to stay here any longer."

Li Yasong nodded knowingly. People who are used to being arrogant are most unwilling to let outsiders see their disheveled and distorted side. "I'll take you back to your room."

……

With a loud bang, the door slammed shut, and Chu Yao ran out from the inner room upon hearing the noise.

What I saw was this dramatic scene—the man slumped to the ground in pain, one hand frantically reaching into his collar to tear off the bullet-shaped metal pendant from his chest.

His hand trembled violently, as if he was trying his best to steady it. Then, with skillful touch of his thumb, he lightly touched the bottom of the pendant twice. In an instant, a sharp needle popped out from the top of the pendant.

Chu Yao saw the man aim at the vein in her wrist without hesitation and plunge the needle in. Chu Yao froze, her eyes wide with shock and confusion, completely bewildered.
However, she only remained stunned for two seconds. Although she was not clear about the current situation, she could clearly see the painful struggle on the man's face on the ground.

She rushed forward, knelt down with a thud, and asked urgently, "What's wrong? Is there anything I can do for you?"

At this moment, Jiang Zheng's limbs and bones were trembling violently and uncontrollably, his muscles spasming violently, as if he were being repeatedly pierced by countless electric currents.

The pounding of his heart made him feel as if his chest cavity was about to be shattered.

Breathing became unusually rapid and difficult; each inhale felt like a broken bellows being torn apart, the air struggling to pass through the dry trachea, making a sharp, screeching sound.

A few broken syllables escaped his throat with difficulty: "I...drank...ice...poison."

Chu Yao's mind went blank. Ice! Poison?
"Then what did you just inject yourself with?"

The scene before him gradually blurred, the girl's face twisted into a bizarre shape, and the sounds around him became distant and ethereal. It became increasingly difficult for him to utter a coherent sentence: "Ah...po...morphine."

Apomorphine? It's an emetic, Chu Yao quickly realized.

As the medication took effect, Jiang Zheng felt a strong urge to vomit rise to his throat.

Suddenly, Chu Yao was pushed away by a brute force, and she fell backward onto the red carpet in the living room.

When she managed to sit up, she saw the man vomiting repeatedly over the trash can by the door.

What can we do? Besides inducing vomiting, what other methods can we use to help him?

Chu Yao was extremely anxious, her mind racing, and a bold idea suddenly popped into her head amidst her chaotic thoughts.

She looked around, surveying the room's furnishings, and searching aimlessly for any usable tools.

Her aimless gaze landed on the bathroom doorway. Almost leaping up, Chu Yao ran into the bathroom in a few steps.

Immediately afterwards, the sound of violent dismantling came from the bathroom.
