What I teach you is real stuff.

Chapter 480: If there are high mountains, can't we just climb over them?

The Bodhisattva-level physical techniques and boxing methods of Buddhism are familiar to both the Chan and Ren sects.

After all, Bodhisattva-level physical techniques and fist techniques are available in the outside world. To put it bluntly, as long as you have money and enough immortal crystals, you can buy them outside.

While the physical skills of a Bodhisattva-level practitioner are formidable, they are not exactly a major secret.

But the Buddha level is different. The physical skills and supernatural powers of the Buddha level involve the most fundamental secrets of the Western Paradise, the most original things.

It is said that teachings should not be lightly passed on, and this applies to anything related to Vulture Peak or Buddha.

When Longma Buddha initially claimed to have used Buddha-level physical skills to challenge others in the Eastern Continent, Xuanfa had doubts about the veracity of the claim.

Especially since Longma Buddha agreed so readily, he became even more suspicious. After all, Buddha-level supernatural powers and physical techniques are basically the same as the Samadhi True Fire cultivation method of the three religions, the Eight-Nine Arcane Arts of the Chan Sect, the Sword Technique of the Jie Sect, the Taoist Scripture of the Human Sect, and the Alchemy Book of Laozi. They are the core of the techniques.

Although the Dragon Horse Buddha has a high status in Buddhism, why would the Tathagata normally offer up his sixteen-foot golden body as a reward?
He felt there was something wrong with it from the beginning, but now that he has obtained the sixteen-foot golden body, he understands the profound method immediately.

So it's true that this Buddha-level supernatural physical technique is real, but it's also true that it's impossible to practice.

There are no restrictions on the cultivation of physical skills and supernatural powers at the Bodhisattva level, but there are restrictions on the supernatural powers at the Buddha level, which clearly means that the people of Mount Ling had already taken measures in this regard.

There are two sages behind Mount Ling. Sages can modify a part of the Heavenly Way. It is too easy for them to tamper with these things.

All a sage needs to do is add a slight restriction to the foundation of the cultivation method, requiring a Bodhisattva-level understanding of Buddhist teachings to practice, just like how the underlying code is written.

This way, one can achieve the goal of granting Xuanfa a sixteen-foot golden body, yet prevent him from cultivating, without any apparent fault.

After all, the Dragon Horse Buddha did deliver on his promise to give you the sixteen-foot golden body, and the two Bodhisattvas from Mount Ling did indeed send over the items. As for whether you can successfully cultivate it, that's up to you.

If you don't have the ability to master it, whose fault is that? As for needing a Bodhisattva-level Buddhist understanding, that's your own problem; if you want to learn, then learn.

Senior Brother Xuanfa shook his head: "No wonder the Patriarch often said that although Buddhists do not lie, they are the most liar people in the Three Realms. Buddhists cannot be trusted."

The eldest disciple of the Chan Sect also laughed: "That Dragon Horse Buddha is quite a formidable figure. He managed to lure out two of your Human Sect's prodigies with just two manuals on the uncultivable Golden Body technique. It seems this world will be quite interesting in the future."

Chen Fengnian stood up.

His visit to Xuanfa today was not because of any deep relationship between the two, but because he had heard that Xuanfa had obtained the Buddhist golden body and came specifically to investigate, and also to ask about Jiang Ming.

Now that both matters had been resolved, he left. However, he couldn't help but laugh at the fact that Xuanfa was unable to cultivate the Sixteen-Foot Golden Body.

Fortunately, I was in seclusion at the time, otherwise I would have fallen into the trap of Buddhism.

……

On the other side, in the Jade Heaven Kingdom, Jiang Ming sat cross-legged on a futon, flipping through the sixteen-foot-tall golden body book from Mount Ling in front of him.

After examining it closely, he could tell that the Buddha-level physical technique was indeed genuine.

After all, Jiang Ming's cultivation level is already very high, having reached the Taiyi True Immortal realm, so it's quite easy to tell whether his physical techniques and cultivation methods are genuine.

Moreover, Lingshan wouldn't stoop to such a level as to fabricate something, as this involves Buddhist precepts. Furthermore, if it were exposed and called out, Buddhism would lose all credibility.

However, the problem is that the situation of this sixteen-foot golden body is very complicated, and it is probably not so easy to cultivate it.

Jiang Ming is facing the same problem as Xuan Fa; both are confronting Buddhist issues at least at the Bodhisattva level.

To cultivate this technique, one must cultivate Buddhism, which means one must study Buddhist scriptures.

The problem is that the Buddhist realm at the Bodhisattva level requires the accumulation of an immeasurable amount of scriptures, and the principles and state of mind involved require even more time; no one knows how long that will take.

Although there are many Bodhisattvas in Buddhism today, not every Bodhisattva has a genuine Bodhisattva-level Buddhist understanding.

Even within the Buddhist sacred mountain, there are probably only a handful of people who genuinely possess the Bodhisattva-level Buddhist Dharma realm. The rest, especially those who advanced later, basically relied on their cultivation and combat strength to reach that level.

In short, there are two kinds of Bodhisattvas in Buddhism, just like there are two kinds of Buddhas.

One type is those with an extremely high level of Buddhist understanding, who are not only highly accomplished in Buddhist teachings but also possess great spiritual power. These are the Bodhisattvas and Buddhas with the most stable foundations; they are the true Bodhisattvas and Buddhas.

As for the other type, it is those whose Buddhist understanding is low, who have not reached the threshold of their own attainment, or even who have virtually no Buddhist understanding, but are accepted by the Buddhist community and given an attainment directly because of their exceptionally high level of understanding.

For example, when Buddhism accepts a Golden Immortal, a Taiyi Golden Immortal, or even a Daluo Golden Immortal into Mount Ling, such a great figure cannot be without status upon entering Mount Ling. Not only must he be given status, but it must also be of a very high rank.

To even begin, one must bestow the title of Bodhisattva.

Therefore, even in Mount Ling, according to the standard of the sixteen-foot golden body, there are probably not many people who can cultivate the sixteen-foot golden body.

This standard is indeed too high, and Jiang Ming's expression turned serious.

It's so difficult... so incredibly difficult.

"I didn't expect the physical requirements for a Buddha-level cultivator on Mount Ling to be so high..."

Jiang Ming looked at the sixteen-foot-tall golden statue in front of him and began to think.

This sixteen-foot golden body is the strongest physical technique of the Buddha, and is even hailed as one of the top three strongest physical techniques in the immortal realm. It is said that after mastering this physical technique, even a saint can walk sideways in the quasi-saint realm without the saint taking action.

But the threshold was unexpectedly high. Should I cultivate or not?
Jiang Ming naturally didn't want to let it go. After all, it was well known that the physical techniques of the Buddhist sect were among the best in the immortal realm. He had finally managed to obtain these techniques, so how could he miss them?
As for the requirement of Buddhist enlightenment for cultivating physical techniques, Jiang Ming gritted his teeth.

It's just chanting scriptures, right? Just learn it. With enough effort, even an iron rod can be ground into a needle.

He had heard this principle from his father since he was a child: as long as you persevere, there is nothing you cannot achieve.

Back then, his parents were killed by the Five Demons Sect of the Azure Heaven World who refined human pills. At that time, Jiang Ming was just a mortal without spiritual roots. It seemed impossible for him to take revenge.

But in the end, didn't he still manage to do it? Mortals cannot cultivate immortality, but he still relied on the Mortal Arts to constantly break through his own limits and survive, even achieving the ascension to the Immortal Realm, something that even top spiritual root practitioners could not do.

Although I had guidance from renowned teachers, I also relied on my own perseverance to get to where I am today.

The sixteen-foot golden body requires a top-level Buddhist realm, not that it is completely impossible to cultivate. In Jiang Ming's eyes, this is a high mountain.

If there's a high mountain in front of you, just climb over it. Isn't it just reading Buddhist scriptures? Read them!

Jiang Ming is least afraid of difficulties and perseverance. Breaking through barriers and persisting are the fundamental forces that make up his invincible path.

Jiang Ming immediately got up to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures and began to study them. For the next period of time, he began to practice asceticism.

Perhaps neither Lingshan nor Xuanfa of the Human Sect nor Chen Fengnian of the Chan Sect expected that someone would actually be willing to comprehend the Buddhist realm of a Bodhisattva in order to learn the sixteen-foot golden body. Who can you reason with such a stubborn fool?

Jiang Ming began to study Buddhist scriptures.

Meanwhile, in the Sacred Ruins Cave Heaven, Lu Yuan began another period of arduous cultivation.

Having just experienced the incident involving Jiang Ming and the Buddhist bodhisattvas, Lu Yuan once again realized a fact: in the Immortal Realm, it is absolutely impossible to succeed without power and a background.

The actions of those two bodhisattvas in Buddhism were undoubtedly a warning to Lu Yuan, telling him that in the immortal realm, without sufficient strength and background, one is like a fish on a chopping board, and could be suddenly killed one day.

Just like today, if Lu Yuan didn't have enough strength, power, and the Five Elements Law, he wouldn't have been able to suppress those two Bodhisattvas from Mount Ling. He might have been the one to suffer today.

If those two Bodhisattvas really make a move today, Lu Yuan's current strength would still allow him to kill them, but he would have to pay a price.

Moreover, if they were killed, how could the Buddhist sect let it go? They would then face endless retaliation from the Buddhist sect, and it might even lead to the downfall of powerful figures like Buddhas of Mount Ling.

The final outcome is almost a foregone conclusion: Lu Yuan will either be slapped to dust by a true Buddhist master or forcibly dragged to Mount Ling to be 'converted'.

The only way to break the deadlock might be to join the Human Sect and rely on its background to resist Mount Ling, but doing so would come at a price.

The price was being converted by the Human Sect. Although joining the Human Sect was definitely better than joining Mount Ling, there was little difference between the two for Lu Yuan. Both were about relying on others and living a life of ignominy.

To truly establish oneself in the Immortal Realm, to truly stand on one's own two feet in this fiercely competitive Immortal Realm, one must rely on one's own strength. In the end, one still needs to truly stand up for oneself.

Xuanxian's cultivation level is still too low, not enough...

Far from enough!

Within Mount Ling, there are not only Bodhisattvas at the Taiyi Xuanxian realm, but also Golden Immortals, Taiyi Golden Immortals, Daluo Golden Immortals, and Quasi-Saints.

At his current Xuanxian realm, he could only contend with a Jinxian at the most, but defeating or killing a Jinxian would be extremely difficult.

Therefore, if he wants to establish himself in the Immortal Realm, establish his own sect, and compete fairly with the major sects, he must at least be able to contend with the Great Luo Immortals.

In other words, he would need to break through to at least the Golden Immortal or Taiyi Golden Immortal level to have any chance of doing it.

Therefore, Lu Yuan is now preparing to go into seclusion to cultivate and hone his skills, thereby increasing his strength.

Although the Five Elements theory is highly deceptive and can easily mislead others into mistaking you for a top-tier expert, a fake is still a fake. If you encounter a truly reckless person, you will easily expose your flaws.

Once this weakness is exposed, what was once relied upon will immediately become a deadly weapon.

After all, who wouldn't be curious about how a cultivator with only the cultivation level of Xuanxian could simultaneously hold the secrets of the five major laws?
At that point, even a Quasi-Saint might get involved in the investigation, and Lu Yuan would truly be doomed.

The only way to turn something fake into something real is to turn yourself into something real; only true gold is not afraid of being tested by fire.

Lu Yuan began his seclusion and started working on a cultivation plan for himself.

The primary goal of this training was to improve one's spiritual realm.

Because now I have no shortage of all kinds of means, whether it is magic weapons, supernatural powers, martial arts, or laws.

What Lu Yuan possesses now is far beyond what a Xuanxian realm cultivator should have.

His current level of cultivation is far beyond the standard configuration for a typical Taiyi Golden Immortal, and it is even comparable to that of a Daluo Golden Immortal.

Therefore, Lu Yuan is not lacking in foundation; what he lacks now is his realm of understanding. Once his realm of understanding is raised, he will naturally have everything else.

Secondly, Lu Yuan needs to cultivate the Ancestral Beast Technique.

The Ancestral Beast Technique is a supernatural power. In the Immortal Realm, martial arts are not so important anymore, but powerful beings generally do not easily resort to laws when fighting.

Under normal circumstances, it is still a contest of martial arts and supernatural powers, and only when it comes to a life-or-death struggle will the laws be used.

Although supernatural martial arts are no longer mainstream, they are still helpful, especially the Ancestral Beast Technique, which is still very powerful and needs to be practiced.

His Ancestral Phoenix Technique and Kui Niu Ancestral Technique were in good condition. He had already obtained a lot of Ancestral Phoenix and Kui Niu essence blood when he was in the Azure Heaven World, and his cultivation was almost complete.

The Ancestral Phoenix Technique is only missing one more technique, "Ancestral Phoenix Burning Heaven Technique," to be fully activated. The Kui Niu Ancestral Technique is missing two more techniques, "Destruction Thunder Domain" and "Kui Niu Nine Heavens Profound Thunder True Body," to be fully activated.

The Ancestral Dragon Technique is quite inferior. It has a large number of scattered techniques, the most among the three Ancestral Beast Techniques, with 13 kinds of scattered techniques. Moreover, cultivating the Ancestral Dragon Technique requires a great deal of Ancestral Dragon essence blood.

Before this, Lu Yuan had only activated four skills: Ancestral Dragon Claw, Sky-Splitting Claw, Destruction Claw, and True Dragon Fist.

There are still 9 scattered techniques that haven't been unlocked. If I could learn all three of these Ancestral Beast Techniques, it would significantly increase my combat power.

Therefore, unlocking all the Ancestral Beast Techniques is the direction I need to work towards next.

Finally, there are the laws. While it's true that more laws are better than fewer, having more can still make you stronger. Moreover, in the Sea of Laws, a place where things are like cheating, it's not difficult for Lu Yuan to comprehend and master them; it just takes some time.

Lu Yuan possessed a rudimentary grasp of the Five Elements Law, the Law of Speed, the Law of Arrows, the Law of Forbiddenness, the Law of Swords, the Law of Arrays, the Law of Puppetry, and some spatial laws.

Lu Yuan has already comprehended a great many laws; if word got out, it would be enough to terrify anyone.

Even in the Immortal Realm, it would be difficult to find someone who could comprehend so many laws at the same time. It would be outrageous even for a Quasi-Saint, and would leave even a Saint dumbfounded.

However, Lu Yuan did not mind having more laws in his grasp, because laws are equivalent to the fundamental driving force of power. The more fundamental laws he held, the stronger he became, and the more likely he was to fight beyond his level.

He knew that the higher one's cultivation level, the slower the progress and the more difficult it was to break through.

It's impossible to quickly advance to the level of Great Luo or Quasi-Saint, but it's possible to quickly comprehend more laws. Therefore, comprehending laws is a shortcut to rapidly improving one's strength.

Lu Yuan still has many areas to improve, such as the Law of Power. Lu Yuan has many sacred bodies, and his physical body has been tempered to be very powerful, but he has never comprehended the Law of Power. Once he comprehends the Law of Power, his physical body will become even more powerful.

When the time comes to break through to the Golden Immortal or Taiyi Golden Immortal levels, the power of the physical body, combined with the acquired Holy Body [Breaking the Sky Body], [Little Pangu Holy Body], and the innate Holy Body [Opening the Heavens Body], as well as the superposition of the Ancestral Dragon Fighting Technique, will probably be able to directly contend with the Great Luo Golden Immortal.

For example, the Law of Thunder and the Law of the Stick.

When the Law of Thunder is combined with the Ancestral Technique of Kui Niu, the True Body of Kui Niu's Nine Heavens Profound Thunder will become even more explosive.

The Law of the Staff can enhance the obtained Demon Ape Fighting Staff Technique and Gengjin Stone Heavy Staff.

In addition, he could also find an opportunity to repair the fragments of the Bronze Mother of the Ferocious Weapon. If he successfully repaired the Bronze Mother of the Ferocious Weapon, it would probably bring him a pleasant surprise.

Of course, besides these, Lu Yuan also discovered that the Demon Luo Clan's cultivation technique, the Demon Luo Death Scripture, which he obtained by chance in the outer realm, was also extremely powerful.

Although the cultivation methods and fundamental principles in the Mara Death Scripture are completely different from the fundamental principles of this immortal world, that doesn't prevent it from being powerful enough.

Lu Yuan had already discovered that this technique was exceptionally powerful when he was cultivating outside the realm, and the origin of the death power he cultivated was also terrifying. However, at that time, Lu Yuan only cultivated it roughly for a few years in order to deal with the creatures at the bottom of the Blood Lake.

After returning to the Immortal Realm, he would occasionally take it out to look at it. The more he studied it, the more he realized that this technique was extraordinary. The person who created this technique must have been a great master with extremely high cultivation.

Therefore, Lu Yuan also intends to study and practice the Mara Death Scripture thoroughly.

At this moment, Lu Yuan was unaware that what he was cultivating was a true scripture naturally born from the chaotic heavenly Dao of the outer realms. He only felt that this thing was powerful and needed to be cultivated well.

With the goals set, Lu Yuan's next task is to move in those directions.

……

Meanwhile, outside the city, as the Dragon Horse Buddha finished his battle in the Eastern Continent and returned to Mount Ling,...

The People's Education Press has emerged in the world, and two of its top talents have appeared in public.

Xuanfa goes without saying. As the senior disciple of the Human Sect, although the Human Sect has kept a low profile and remained secluded for many years, Xuanfa's foundation is still well known to the true big shots of the Immortal Realm.

But Jiang Ming and his group were completely unaware of this sudden appearance; it was as if he had just appeared out of nowhere, causing widespread panic.

Although Jiang Ming is not yet capable of significantly impacting the Immortal Realm's power structure—after all, he is only a Taiyi True Immortal—his appearance can indeed cause panic among many powerful figures.

Because the previously stable situation has been disrupted.

Originally, each family only had one core disciple who could stand up and support them.

Lingshan has the Dragon Horse Buddha, and the three religions have their senior disciples. But suddenly the Human Religion has one more. Who can sit still?
There is no threat now, but it's hard to say what will happen in the future.

After some time, Jiang Ming will become a new Quasi-Saint. Right now, he is someone who can fight on par with Longma Buddha, who is hailed as the next Tathagata Buddha of Buddhism.

In other words, with another Buddha coming to the Humanist sect, will those important figures be able to hold their positions?

In Heaven, the Jade Emperor was the first to lose his composure.

He sat on his immortal throne, racking his brains but still couldn't figure out where Jiang Ming came from. The Human Sect had been hiding in seclusion for so many years, and now they had cultivated a second Xuanfa.
Since the last Great Tribulation of the Journey to the West, the Heavenly Court has been greatly weakened. After all, the incense offerings of the Eastern Continent and the Southern Continent, which originally belonged exclusively to the Heavenly Court, were taken away by the West because of the spread of the Tao during the Journey to the West.

Moreover, in recent years, the Heavenly Court has failed to cultivate any promising young talents, leaving the Heavenly Court with weak future support. The Jade Emperor was already troubled, and now he is even more troubled.

The original plan was to directly recruit talented individuals from the Flying Immortal Platform into the Heavenly Court, and then cultivate core figures to advance to the rank of Divine Generals to compete with the top geniuses of the Three Religions and Buddhism. However, it seems that all those recruited are now useless.

What use are the millions of heavenly soldiers and generals in Heaven? In a real fight, they wouldn't even be enough to push a Quasi-Saint with one hand.

Is it possible that my Heavenly Court cannot produce a genius of Jiang Ming's caliber?
The Jade Emperor was annoyed.

None of the civil and military officials below dared to utter a sound, and they too felt a chill run down their spines.

……

The netherworld, a sea of blood.

Deep within the sea of blood, a pair of eyes opened, and within them seemed to lie two of the sharpest divine swords in the world.

At this moment, an extremely beautiful female immortal of the Asura race reported the events of the outside world to the being deepest in the Blood Sea.

This Blood Sea Ancestor also heard about what was happening outside.

He sneered and said, "What Dragon Horse Buddha Child, Humanist Pride, none of them are worth worrying about. In the future, they will only serve as stepping stones for the rise of my clan."

The prodigy of my Asura clan has been born. He will show them what a true peerless genius is. Just you wait.

Deep within the sea of blood, the Asura race, after blooming a blood flower amidst the boiling sea of blood, returned to tranquility once more.

……

Lingshan

The two bodhisattvas who had delivered the sixteen-foot-tall golden statues to Jiang Ming and Xuanfa returned to the Buddhist sect and informed the Buddha of what had happened.

The Buddha nodded slightly and said, "I had already foreseen Jiang Ming's background; it's not as simple as it seems. I only asked you to test him a little. If you rashly attacked him, it would naturally displease the people behind him. I've already shown you enough leniency by not taking your lives."

Go back to your cultivation and regain the power you lost by severing your own cultivation as soon as possible.

Tathagata had obviously foreseen Jiang Ming's fate, but he couldn't fathom the teacher behind Jiang Ming, so he simply assumed he was a quasi-saint. He was clearly also shaking his head at the reckless behavior of his two bodhisattvas.

But it's already good that I survived.

After dismissing the two Bodhisattvas, Tathagata looked at the Dragon Horse Buddha.

The Buddha said, "Well? Have you found a suitable person to advance to the next level this time? Is it the senior disciple of the Human Sect, or Jiang Ming?"

The Buddhist disciple Longma clasped his hands together and said, "Reporting to Buddha, your disciple has made his choice; it is Jiang Ming."

“Very good, but this person also has a deep foundation, and according to what you said, his foundation is no weaker than yours. If you want to kill him to advance, it will probably not be easy. You will have to cultivate diligently.”

Longma Buddha nodded: "This disciple naturally understands, but I am confident that I can succeed."

Buddha nodded: "Go."

Longma Buddha left.

After the Dragon Horse Buddha left, Maitreya Buddha passed by, glanced at the Dragon Horse Buddha, and asked Tathagata a question.

"Buddha, you're just giving away your sixteen-foot golden body like that? Aren't you afraid that one of those two might be exceptionally talented and able to achieve it?"

Buddha smiled and said, "Maitreya Buddha, you underestimate my sixteen-foot golden body. The Buddhist teachings of Mount Sumeru are so vast that I specially asked my sage teacher to place cultivation restrictions on my sixteen-foot golden body."

To master my sixteen-foot golden body technique, one would need at least a Bodhisattva-level Buddhist understanding to cultivate it. Reaching the Bodhisattva level through self-study without a teacher is impossible.

No matter how patient you are, it's impossible to learn Buddhism from scratch and reach the Bodhisattva level without a teacher; nobody has that much free time.

Moreover, it is simply impossible to reach the Bodhisattva level of Buddhist teachings without a teacher. Who has such a pure heart and abnormal understanding of Buddhist teachings?

Buddha said: If anyone can master this, I'll just eat it!
Maitreya Buddha smiled, patted his belly, and left without saying anything more.

However, seeing how confident Tathagata is, hopefully he can bet that among the two young men who obtained the sixteen-foot golden body, there isn't a stubborn, headstrong type.

……

Thus, in the blink of an eye, five thousand years have passed in the Immortal Realm.

Five thousand years later, the Jade Heaven Kingdom is a treasure land.

Suddenly, a tremendous thunderous sound rang out from a cave, followed by a radiant beam of Buddhist light that then subsided.

Within another grotto-heaven, an even more powerful aura emanated continuously, clearly indicating that someone was advancing in their cultivation.

Zhang Feifei, Ning Feng, and others who later ascended to the Immortal Realm have already completed the consolidation of their realms and have now broken through to the Taiyi True Immortal realm.

They saw unusual phenomena appearing in the caves where their second senior brother Jiang Ming and their teacher were, clearly indicating that both their teacher and second senior brother were engaged in arduous cultivation.

The eldest brother also went into seclusion two thousand years ago. When Zhang Feifei and the others saw this, they realized that they could not slack off either, so they continued their arduous cultivation.

At this moment, Jiang Ming's condition in his cave has clearly changed dramatically.

Behind him, a Buddha-light mirror had already formed, signifying that his Buddhist understanding had reached an extremely profound level.

He spent five thousand years tediously poring over hundreds of millions of Buddhist scriptures, and he truly learned Buddhist teachings on his own, gaining enlightenment and understanding from them.

Jiang Ming: "Hahahaha, as expected, the Dao Heart will lead me out of the encirclement and over that seemingly insurmountable mountain. I've succeeded! I've mastered it!"

"With a Buddha-level Buddhist cultivation, this sixteen-foot golden body will surely be at my disposal!" (End of Chapter)
