What I teach you is real stuff.

Chapter 479 The Uncultivable Golden Body of a 6-Foot Man

The two bodhisattvas exchanged a glance, their expressions both grim.

To everyone's surprise, when they came to test Jiang Ming, his teacher was right there, and he was a powerful figure who had mastered all five laws.

Faced with such a powerful being's anger, even if the Buddha himself were to come today, this matter would likely be difficult to resolve peacefully. After all, they were indeed the ones who were disrespectful first, and such powerful beings could do almost anything in the immortal realm.

Without hesitation, the two Bodhisattvas directly damaged their own cultivation, slashing themselves with their swords. Both of their cultivation levels dropped from the Taiyi Xuanxian realm to the peak of the Xuanxian realm.

The two bodhisattvas lowered their heads and said humbly, "Senior, we are willing to offer our magic treasures as compensation, and we will even sever one of our realms. We hope that you will be merciful and spare us."

Furthermore, we two are actually here today on the orders of the Buddha's disciple to deliver a Buddha-level cultivation technique to your esteemed student. The earlier misunderstanding was simply a misunderstanding; we were merely curious about the strength of your senior's disciple.

The celestial realm truly lives up to its reputation as the place where the strong prey on the weak. These two Bodhisattvas of Mount Ling hold high positions on Mount Ling, practically the highest leaders below the Buddha.

Even in the Immortal Realm, they would be high and mighty beings, but when they encountered Lu Yuan, who possessed all five great laws, they immediately cowered. Deep down, they believed that someone who could master five great laws must have at least been a Great Luo Golden Immortal, and most likely a Quasi-Saint.

Don't be fooled by Lu Yuan's apparent cultivation level of only Xuanxian. What if he's hiding his true strength? Aren't there plenty of people in the myriad realms who like to conceal their true power and play the fool to outsmart others?

There is a 99.99999% chance that Lu Yuan is a Quasi-Saint, and there is a 0.00001% chance that Lu Yuan is not a Quasi-Saint, but who dares to bet on that 0.00001% chance?
They would rather damage their own cultivation, cut themselves in half, or even die at the hands of this senior than gamble on it. After all, losing the gamble would be worse than death, and Mount Ling would also be implicated, making it impossible to escape death.

Lu Yuan truly hadn't expected these two bodhisattvas from Mount Ling to be so decisive, cutting themselves off as soon as they said they would.

And did they misunderstand something? Could it be that people from the Immortal Realm see someone with the Five Great Laws in hand and assume that the other party is a Quasi-Saint?
However, from their perspective, this is indeed the case. After all, throughout history, those who have comprehended the laws in the Immortal Realm are mostly Golden Immortals or above. Even among Quasi-Saints, very few can comprehend the Five Great Laws. From this perspective, cutting off one's own life in exchange for a chance to live is actually quite worthwhile.

After all, there is the path of incense offering in Buddhism, which can quickly improve one's strength, and it is easier to make up for lost strength than in ordinary cultivation.

Don't be fooled by the fact that these two have fallen a major realm. Self-severance and starting from scratch are completely different. They've already reached the Taiyi Xuanxian realm once, so it will be much easier for them to climb back up.

It wouldn't be difficult for these two Bodhisattvas to return to the Taiyi Xuanxian realm, it just would take time. Even with the blessing of the incense-burning path, it would still take at least several thousand years.

So they did pay a considerable price.

Lu Yuan looked at the two guys, and each of them took out a magic weapon.

The Bodhisattva who attacked Jiang Ming took out a bright pearl, which he called the 'Buddha Light Pearl'. It contained a large amount of Buddha light power. It was the pearl that was responsible for lighting in the Great Thunderclap Temple when the Buddha preached. It was formed by absorbing a large amount of supreme Buddha light from the Quasi-Saint Buddha. When fighting an enemy, the pearl can be used to withstand an attack of the Taiyi Xuanxian level.

Lu Yuan: "That's it? Are you trying to fetch a beggar?"

Lu Yuan was clearly displeased. Is this all the prestigious Buddhist sect of Lingshan has to offer?
How dare you give away the lamp beads that were lit next to the Buddha when he was giving a sermon? With the extravagance of Buddhism, wouldn't there be tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of gold lamp beads lit next to the Buddha during such a grand sermon?

In other words, this thing may appear to be able to withstand one attack from a Taiyi Xuanxian, but in reality it is worthless and can be mass-produced by the Buddhist sect.

Lu Yuan said: If you don't want to live, you can keep taking out these pieces of junk, and then these pieces of junk will die with you.

The two Bodhisattvas were startled and dared not fool them anymore, so they immediately replaced the item with something else.

A monk's robe, a green lamp.

That robe, called the Buddha Light Robe, is indeed a better item than the Buddha Light Bead.

This time, it wasn't a lamp or lighting device, but rather the robe that the Buddha wore when he preached, which absorbed a large amount of Buddha light and the aura of a quasi-saint.

Wearing this cassock will allow you to withstand at least a hundred full-force attacks from a Taiyi Xuanxian, and at least ten attacks from a Jinxian.

Moreover, wearing a kasaya while studying Buddhist scriptures makes learning twice as effective.

This is a true protective treasure, far superior to those disposable Buddha light beads.

According to this Bodhisattva, after he attained enlightenment in the Buddha's temple following a sermon, the Buddha bestowed this robe upon him. The Bodhisattva himself never wore it and kept it as a keepsake.

He wouldn't have taken it out if it weren't to save his life.

The other treasure is a green lamp, which is also a true personal item of a Buddha-level powerhouse in Lingshan, and it was even personally refined by a Buddha.

The lamp within this magical artifact has the effect of tempering the body; it can be used to temper the body, and it has a remarkable effect even on Taiyi Xuanxian (a high-level immortal).

Lu Yuan said, "The cassock is nice, but the green lamp only has the effect of tempering the body and has no offensive capabilities. Are you trying to fool me? Giving me the green lamp isn't enough, give me some more."

Lu Yuan was not easily fooled. The green lamp was indeed a treasure, but it wasn't enough.

Having finally gotten a chance to extort money from the Buddhist community, how could we not extort as much as possible to make up for the suffering Jiang Ming had just endured?

The Bodhisattva who took out the green lamp was on the verge of tears.

Actually, he didn't attack Jiang Ming at all. It was his companion who came with him who attacked Jiang Ming. He was just watching from the sidelines.

But at this moment, he also suffered an undeserved disaster, not only losing the Green Lantern, but the other party still felt it wasn't enough.

He had no choice but to grit his teeth and take out a jade pot.

Lu Yuan asked, "What is this?"

The Bodhisattva said, "Senior, this contains the original liquid of the Dragon Transformation Pool. You must have heard of the Dragon Transformation Pool of my Western Spirit Mountain, right?"

The Dragon Transformation Pool of Lingshan is said to contain a large amount of dragon origin, a treasure left behind by the dragon race after the great calamity of the Dragon-Han era, which fell to the west.

Later, two Buddhist patriarchs entered the West and obtained the Dragon Transformation Pool. They regarded the Dragon Transformation Pool as a Buddhist property. Although the dragon race in later generations came to the West to ask for this thing, it was after all left by their ancestors.

However, the Buddhist sect was too powerful, and the dragon clan was no match for the bald monks of the Buddhist sect. They had no choice but to swallow their anger.

The Dragon Transformation Pool can not only transform pythons into dragons and help the dragon race in the celestial realm activate their ancestral bloodlines, but it can also temper the physical body.

Many immortals, demons, and dragons join Buddhism in order to enter the Dragon Transformation Pool for cultivation.

However, many people do not know that while the water in the Dragon Transformation Pool has miraculous effects, there is something even more powerful than the water in the Dragon Transformation Pool, which is the original liquid of the Dragon Transformation Pool.

Actually, the water quality in the Dragon Transformation Pool has declined a lot now, just because the Buddhist sect has taken in many believers. The Buddhist sect has developed to this point and has attracted many powerful people through the Dragon Transformation Pool.

Countless people have soaked in the waters of the Dragon Transformation Pool. No matter how powerful the Dragon Transformation Pool is, it will eventually dry up, though it will dry up very slowly.

However, Buddhism also understands that it cannot exhaust the resources of a pond, so over the years, Buddhism has diluted the water in the Dragon Transformation Pool, and now the gold content of the Dragon Transformation Pool has been greatly reduced.

However, the Buddha in the Buddhist sect possesses the true original liquid of the Dragon Transformation Pool. Only the true high-ranking and core members of the Buddhist sect know about this original liquid. The Buddha of Mount Ling also uses this as a reward for his subordinates.

The original liquid from the Dragon Transformation Pool in the Bodhisattva's hand was given to him by the Tathagata. Originally, he intended to use it to temper his physical body, but now it seems he has no chance to use it, so he might as well use it to save his life.

Although the Dragon Transformation Pool Essence is precious, the Bodhisattvas of Mount Ling, where they reside, hold a very high position in the Western Paradise, so they won't have to worry about obtaining this substance in the future.

Compared to my own life, this thing is just an external possession.

Lu Yuan opened it and took a look. As soon as he opened the jade pot, he saw a terrifying dragon source contained inside. It was indeed a good thing, even more terrifying than the pool of dragon marrow he had obtained in the ancient secret realm of the Azure Sky World.

Lu Yuan put it away and looked at the other Bodhisattva who had taken out a kasaya.

"What about you? Do you have any on you?"

Bodhisattva: "This..."

The sword at Lu Yuan's waist rang out, startling the Bodhisattva, who hurriedly said, "Yes, yes, yes, this disciple has it!"

He quickly produced two portions of the Dragon Transformation Pool Essence, a cassock, and a green lamp, which finally calmed the matter down.

Lu Yuan put these things away and said with satisfaction, "Seeing that your attitude is quite sincere, let's end things here for today, and I won't make things difficult for you."

The two bodhisattvas breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that this senior was easy to talk to. As long as they were willing to pay the price, the matter would be over.

Lu Yuan continued, "You just said you came to deliver cultivation techniques? Where are the techniques?"

The Bodhisattva quickly took out the cultivation manual and handed it to Lu Yuan.

"Senior, this is the cultivation technique that we escorted all the way from Mount Ling. It is a copy that I, a Buddhist disciple of Mount Ling, personally requested from Buddha Tathagata."

Lu Yuan took it and glanced at it. He saw that the four characters "Zhang Liu Jin Shen" were written in the celestial script.

It was clearly the thing that Longma Buddha had promised Jiang Ming: the Golden Body Technique of the Tathagata Buddha.

No wonder two Bodhisattvas from Mount Ling came today; they were here to escort the cultivation technique. Indeed, this thing is extremely precious even in Mount Ling.

Even Buddhist sects fear being intercepted along the way, so it's normal for two Bodhisattvas at the peak of the Taiyi Xuanxian realm to escort such a precious item.

Lu Yuan said, "I've accepted the things. Let's go."

He didn't have a good impression of these two Buddhist bodhisattvas. Although they had given him a lot of good things, it was hard to say what would happen if no one stood up for Jiang Ming today.

Lu Yuan simply told them to get lost. The two Bodhisattvas were not angry at all; instead, they were extremely grateful and quickly transformed into several streams of light, leading a group of Arhats and Vajras away.

Lu Yuan watched them run away as if their lives depended on it, and shook his head.

This is the immortal realm! Might makes right, and we wouldn't object to them being kicked out.

But if they didn't have the strength, things would probably be very different today.

This made Lu Yuan realize once again the cruelty of the Immortal Realm.

The greater the sect, the more unscrupulous the people become. Take these two Bodhisattvas today, for example. Although they were sent by the Tathagata to test them, the bald monk's actions did not seem like a test.

It seemed that if Jiang Ming couldn't withstand it, he would kill him with a single palm strike; life and death were just a matter of a single thought for this powerful being.

Jiang Ming's expression was also unpleasant. He wasn't particularly happy about obtaining the Tathagata Golden Body Technique, but rather he was terrified by the rampant activities of the Buddhist sect.

If the teacher hadn't intervened today, this would have been a much bigger problem.

Xiao Huang and the others nearby were also thinking about this question.

Afterwards, Lu Yuan handed the sixteen-foot golden body manual to Jiang Ming and said, "This sixteen-foot golden body manual is quite good. Cultivate it well; it will benefit you."

"And the original liquid from this Dragon Transformation Pool, along with these two Buddhist treasures, are all excellent for tempering the physical body."

Lu Yuan didn't need these things; he had acquired them for his disciples. He gave them all to Jiang Ming and instructed him to cultivate diligently. Although he had stood up for him today, he would have to repay the grudge of being suppressed by the Bodhisattva of Mount Ling in the future, and Lu Yuan wouldn't be by his side forever.

Although we have now ascended to immortality, we cannot slack off; on the contrary, we must work even harder in this celestial realm.

Holding the sixteen-foot-tall golden body manual and the original liquid of the Dragon Transformation Pool in his hands, Jiang Ming secretly resolved that he would avenge the suppression he suffered today.

……

On the other side, on a sacred mountain in the Human Sect, the senior disciple Xuanfa was playing chess with a disciple of the Chan Sect.

The two players' moves resembled a battle of wits, with extremely high stakes at stake.

The disciple from the Chan Sect said, "Senior Brother Xuanfa, it's been many years. Your chess skills have improved considerably, as has your cultivation. I heard that you recently defeated that Dragon-Horse Buddha Child from the Buddhist sect? And you even obtained a Buddha-level physical technique from the Buddhist sect?"

Xuanfa smiled and said, "It's a rare opportunity to openly and honestly glimpse the Buddha-level physical techniques of Buddhism. How could I not go?"

However, that Dragon-Horse Buddha Child is indeed quite capable; worthy of being Tathagata's closed-door disciple, his physical techniques have reached their pinnacle. If several thousand years pass, it's truly hard to say whether I could still defeat him.”

The disciple of the Chan Sect who was playing chess said, "Fellow Daoist, you are too modest. However, I heard that besides you, another disciple of your Human Sect also fought to a draw with the Dragon Horse Buddha. I think his name is Jiang Ming?"
It's unbelievable how many talented people have emerged from the current education system. We've only shown the tip of the iceberg, yet so many prodigies already exist. It truly makes us envious.

Xuanfa glanced at him. The person he was playing chess with was naturally the current senior disciple of the younger generation of the Chan Sect.

After all, apart from the eldest disciple of the Chan Sect, what other disciple of the Chan Sect was qualified to have a one-on-one game with him and play chess here?

The fact that the senior disciple of the Chan Sect asked this question at this moment was clearly a test, a test of the depth of the Human Sect.

After all, although the Human Sect had remained hidden from the world, the major top powers and sects in the Immortal Realm were well aware of its strength before this.

Each sect only has a handful of top young talents, but the Human Sect has suddenly produced Jiang Ming, who is comparable to the Dragon Horse Buddha. In a few thousand years, he will probably become another Xuanfa.

This is something that could influence the future order of the Immortal Realm, so how could the Chan Sect not care? The Chan Sect's senior disciple came specifically to inquire about this matter.

But Xuanfa wasn't stupid. He just smiled and said, "Junior Brother Jiang Ming is indeed a rising star of our Human Sect. This matter hasn't been spread yet, but he's still quite inexperienced, so it's best not to mention it."

Xuanfa's inner thoughts: Although Jiang Ming is not a disciple of my Human Sect, I'll just say whatever I want to scare you, so what?
As expected, the senior disciple of the Chan Sect was shocked, because he had never heard of such a hidden talent in the Human Sect before. Could it be that he was a rising star who had suddenly emerged in the Human Sect?

The senior disciple of the Chan Sect, Chen Fengnian, had a shifting expression, his mood unpredictable, and said, "Hehe, the Human Sect truly produces many outstanding individuals."

Xuanfa chuckled inwardly. On the surface, Chen Fengnian remained calm and composed, but he was probably already cursing under his breath.

It's a pity that Jiang Ming is not a disciple of our Human Sect. If he had really joined our Human Sect, that would have been wonderful.

The two were still testing each other when a disciple of the Human Sect flew in from outside the mountain.

"Senior Brother, people from the Buddhist sect have arrived."

Xuanfa asked, "Who?"

"I don't recognize them. They are two Bodhisattvas. They said they came to give something to my senior brother."

Xuanfa said, "Let them in."

Xuanfa had no connection with Buddhism. The other party said they were there to deliver something, so they must have been there to deliver the sixteen-foot-tall golden statue.

Before long, a disciple led two Bodhisattvas in.

These were the two Bodhisattvas from Mount Ling who had just left Lu Yuan's place not long ago. They were also delivering something to Senior Brother Xuanfa on their way.

However, their attitude towards Jiang Ming was completely different this time. This time, when facing the senior disciple of the Human Sect, the two Bodhisattvas were very respectful and polite.

Xuanfa stood up and said, "Thank you for troubling the two Bodhisattvas to make this special trip. You've worked so hard."

The two bodhisattvas smiled warmly and said, "Brother Xuanfa, you're too kind. This is all within our duty."

Senior Brother Xuanfa also holds an exceptionally high position within the Human Sect. He is a direct disciple of Grand Master Xuandu of the Human Sect, and Grand Master Xuandu is of the same generation as Tathagata.

Therefore, strictly speaking, Xuanfa is a third-generation disciple of the Human Teachings, and Longma Buddha is also a third-generation disciple.

In the Vulture Peak, the Bodhisattva and the Dragon Horse Buddha were of the same generation and addressed each other as fellow disciples.

Now they address Xuanfa as an equal, and given Xuanfa's even greater future potential, they dare not offend him.

These two Bodhisattvas not only greeted the senior disciple Xuanfa of the Human Sect, but also smiled and greeted the senior disciple Chen Fengnian of the Chan Sect who was also there.

"Junior Brother Chen is here too, greetings."

Chen Fengnian nodded slightly and ignored them.

These two Bodhisattvas dared not give Chen Fengnian any advice, after all, Chen Fengnian held a position in the Chan Sect that allowed him to manipulate them at will, and they could not afford to offend him.

Completely different from Jiang Ming just now, they didn't know Jiang Ming's background or the farcical relationship between Jiang Ming and the Human Sect. They thought he was just someone without a background, and that Tathagata asked them to test him, so they dared to directly suppress him.

But facing Xuanfa and Chen Fengnian, they wouldn't dare to be presumptuous even if they had ten times the courage. They greeted them respectfully with smiles, handed the sixteen-foot golden body to Xuanfa, and then left.

This is the difference in treatment that comes from having a certain background and status.

Senior Brother Xuanfa received the secret manual of the sixteen-foot golden body from someone sent by the Buddhist disciple Longma. Although this manual of the sixteen-foot golden body was just a Buddhist copy, it was enough. It was good enough to have something to learn.

Do you really expect the Buddha to show you the original secrets of his supernatural powers?
Mount Ling is not made of clay; even if Buddha dared to show it to him, Xuanfa would not dare to accept it.

Looking at the sixteen-foot-tall golden body manual in Xuanfa's hand, Chen Fengnian, the senior disciple of the Chan Sect, asked, "Is this what you won from the Dragon Horse Buddha?"

Xuanfa smiled and said, "I have always been interested in the Buddha's supernatural powers, especially the sixteen-foot golden body of my uncle, the Tathagata. Unfortunately, I have never had the chance to see its mysteries before because of the difference in sects. Now that I finally have the opportunity, I naturally want to borrow it to study it."

Chen Fengnian said, "It's a pity I was in seclusion at the time, otherwise I would definitely have gone to join in the fun and fought with that Dragon Horse Buddha to win a Buddha-level physical technique."

Xuanfa glanced at Chen Fengnian.

He naturally believed in Chen Fengnian's strength. After all, this was the senior disciple of the Chan Sect. The competition within the Chan Sect was extremely fierce, as it was the sect in the Immortal Realm that valued lineage and status the most.

Chen Fengnian was able to become the senior disciple of the Chan Sect not only because of his impressive background, but also because of his incredible strength.

With him making a move, Longma Buddha has no chance of winning. If Chen Fengnian were to go, he could easily obtain a Buddha-level physical technique from Longma Buddha. Unfortunately, he was in seclusion at the time and missed the opportunity.

When Chen Fengnian learned of this matter a few days later, Longma Buddha had already been stunned by Xuanfa and Jiang Ming. After giving away two sixteen-foot golden bodies, he immediately stopped the bet and returned to Mount Ling.

Chen Fengnian has no chance anymore.

The senior disciple of the Chan Sect looked at the secret manual in Xuanfa's hand and said, "Xuanfa, may I take a look?"

Xuanfa shook his head: "I dare not do that. I would not dare to show you the top supernatural power of Buddhism without the permission of the Buddhist sect. If Tathagata comes to me for trouble, my master will not be able to explain himself if he is in the wrong."

Xuanfa politely declined Chen Fengnian's offer.

It's not that I don't want to show it to you, but this matter is of great importance, and I dare not give it to you. If you, Chen Fengnian, were to master it, wouldn't Lingshan cause trouble by asking someone else to teach it to you?

Chen Fengnian was depressed; it was a pity.

Xuanfa opened the book and began to read.

The sixteen-foot golden body was something he had always wanted to study. Now that he finally had the secret manual, he had to study it carefully.

However, just as Xuanfa opened the book to study it carefully, his expression changed.

He then quickly flipped through a few pages, his face growing increasingly grim, as if he had just swallowed a huge lump of something.

Chen Fengnian, who was standing next to him, obviously noticed the change in Xuanfa's expression. He asked, "What's wrong? Did those bald guys give you fake scriptures?"

Chen Fengnian smiled. Given the personality and style of those bald monks in Buddhism, they weren't incapable of doing such a thing. Back when the Journey to the West was in its great calamity, Jin Chanzi didn't pay enough money, so didn't he take away fake scriptures?

This is, after all, a supernatural power at the level of a Buddha in Buddhism; it's not impossible that they might give you a fake one.

Xuanfa shook his head and said, "The item is real, but in my opinion it's no different from a fake. I was wondering why that Dragon Horse Buddha agreed so readily, giving away the sixteen-foot golden body so easily. There's definitely something fishy going on."

Chen Fengnian became even more curious: "How so?"

Xuanfa folded the sixteen-foot golden body manual with one hand and then tossed it into a corner of his sleeve for safekeeping.

He said angrily, "This sixteen-foot golden body requires the blessing of Buddhism to cultivate. Only those with a high enough level of Buddhist understanding can cultivate it. If their Buddhist understanding is not high enough, they cannot even meet the threshold for cultivation."

According to the secret manual, cultivating this sixteen-foot golden body requires at least a Buddhist Bodhisattva-level understanding of Buddhist teachings; otherwise, at best, one will suffer from demonic possession, and at worst, their soul will be shattered, making it impossible to cultivate.

In other words, this Buddha-level physical technique in Buddhism is something that you simply cannot master unless you have a Bodhisattva-level level of Buddhist understanding.

The Dragon Horse Buddha already knew this, so even if they were given the Xuanfa technique, they wouldn't be able to master the sixteen-foot golden body.

After all, Buddhist scriptures are vast and the Dharma is boundless. Neither Jiang Ming nor Xuanfa are Buddhists and had never studied the Dharma before.

Asking them to start from scratch by reading Buddhist scriptures and learning Buddhist teachings until they reach the level of a Bodhisattva is just a pipe dream.
It is more difficult than making them cultivate from scratch to the Taiyi Xuanxian realm. After all, the Buddhist realm is not cultivation; there are no shortcuts, and it all depends on comprehension.

Moreover, without the guidance of Buddhist bodhisattvas or Buddhas, their desire to comprehend the realm of Buddhist teachings is nothing but a pipe dream.

Upon hearing Xuanfa's words, Chen Fengnian couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Unexpectedly, Xuanfa personally went out to make the trip, only to be outmaneuvered by the Buddhist sect. He gained the sixteen-foot golden body technique but was ultimately unable to cultivate it.

Laughing to death.

Now Chen Fengnian felt at peace and suddenly lost interest in the Buddhist golden statue.

After all, to learn a Buddhist martial art, one must first read hundreds of millions of Buddhist scriptures and comprehend Buddhist principles. Only a madman, aside from the disciples of Buddhism itself, would do something like that.

The sixteen-foot golden body is powerful, but it's better not to practice it. (End of Chapter)
