Chapter 79 Should I do this?

After lying on the ground for several hours, Slok finally had the strength to get up and limp behind Guo Mi and Little Bear.

Slok paused, head bowed, and after a long while turned to smile at Guo Mi before continuing on his way, feigning strength.

"I know."

Guo Mi's lips twitched. "What do you know? You just say 'I know'? You don't look like you know anything at all!"

She had no choice but to make her point even clearer:
"The scent Caesar left behind roughly overlapped with the direction the male bear fled in."

To everyone's surprise, Slok, who had been rushing on his way, came to a complete stop!

He raised his head, his nose twitching in the air. His body, which had been hunched over due to his injury, became increasingly taut. Finally, he suddenly turned around, took two steps, and then, as if just realizing what had happened, turned back to Guo Mi and said:
"Guo Mi, can we go back and take a look?"

However, he quickly remembered that Guo Mi still had many things to do, and continued:
"I can go back by myself."

Slok's series of actions puzzled Guo Mi, but she still agreed:

"Let's go."

Slok hesitated for a moment but ultimately said nothing. The four bears, two large and two small, returned to the spot where Guo Mi and the male bear had fought, sniffing the blood trail left by the male bear as it fled.

His nose twitched violently, and he became visibly agitated. He took two steps forward following the lingering scent, then immediately looked up and gazed ahead.

Guo Mi knew what he was worried about, and whispered comforting words:
"Don't worry, he can't beat Caesar."

That male bear was powerless against her, and now that it was injured, it was even less likely that she could be a match for a bear like Caesar.

As for Slok, why did he seem even more flustered than before after learning that Caesar hadn't abandoned him but had gone to support him?

Guo Mi tilted her head to look at Slok, and Slok looked back at her, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.

The male bear seemed conflicted, but finally, as if making up its mind, it said to Guo Mi:

"Guo Mi, you take the little bear and go find a new cave first. I'll go find Caesar..."

However, before he could finish speaking, Guo Mi rejected him outright:
"No."

"You're so badly injured, and you still want to go find Caesar alone? What if you encounter other bears?"

Slok opened his mouth to try and argue:

"I...I'm fine..."

As Guo Mi's words of excuse faded under her icy gaze, she finally stopped talking, looking embarrassed.

Guo Mi looked away, and after a while, she heard Slok's final struggle again:

"I'm really fine..."

The sound was very soft and easily overlooked if one wasn't paying attention. Guo Mi stopped walking back and sighed heavily after a long while!

If I hadn't heard it, I wouldn't have bothered, but I did.

She had no choice but to walk back to Slok:
"Forget it, go ahead."

Slok's eyes lit up and he looked up, just about to get up, when he heard Guo Mi continue:

"I will go with you."

"……what?!"

Slok paused for only a moment, then refused without hesitation:
"no!"

Now it was Guo Mi's turn to be puzzled:

"why not?"

"Aren't you worried about Caesar getting hurt? In that case, I'll go with you. What can you do looking like this?"

Of course, the chances of Caesar getting injured are extremely slim.

Slok still disagreed:

"No, I can go by myself."

Guo Mi's tone turned cold:
“That’s impossible. I won’t let you out of my sight until Caesar returns.”

Slok muttered, feeling a little aggrieved:
"I'm an adult bear now, and you're not my mother. You can't control me like this."

Guo Mi remained unmoved, acting as if she hadn't heard anything at all.

Seeing her resolute attitude, Slok stood up and paced back and forth a couple of times, then sat down again in pain a moment later. His gaze wavered for a fleeting moment, but when it fell on the two little bears watching them curiously behind them, the wavering vanished without a trace.

"No, you really can't go."

His attitude was too suspicious. Guo Mi looked him up and down with a suspicious gaze, which made the poor, stupid bear start to feel guilty.

Guo Mi looked away, and another guess suddenly popped into her mind, making her heart skip a beat.

She bared her teeth at Slok and issued her ultimatum:

"Slok, let's go together."

Then, before he could refuse, he threatened:
“Even if you don’t take me, I can still smell Caesar’s scent. And even if I can’t, there’s Little Bear.”

When the bear was mentioned, Guo Mi turned around, hesitated for a moment, but quickly became determined.

The poor little guy was lucky to be born in the wild instead of in a zoo, but at times it felt cruel.

They cannot become flowers in a greenhouse, nor can she arbitrarily make them become those flowers.

Polar bears in the wild can use their intelligence to avoid some things, but not others, perhaps today...

Guo Mi's gaze darkened, and she turned to Slok, saying:

"Let's go."

He finally gave in, stopped refusing, and silently walked at the front.

The two bear cubs looked at each other curiously and then hopped and skipped after him.

Only Guo Mi, watching the two lively little bears look up at the sky, suddenly asked herself:
