Chapter 69 Do you want to eat insects?
The two bears walked one after the other. Caesar stopped several times to talk to Guo Mi, but he was afraid of saying something wrong, so he could only continue walking forward in frustration.

Slok's words still echoed in my ears:

"Caesar, can't you speak properly? If you can't, then don't speak at all. It's much better to shut up than to say the wrong thing!"

Caesar has always said what he wants, and if other bears don't understand, his claws can make them listen again.

Therefore, he cannot distinguish between good words and bad words.

Although he had asked Slok what he could and couldn't say, the stupid bear told him, "Just think about what you don't want to hear, and then don't say it to Guo Mi."

However, the bear he talked to the most was Slok, and he didn't want to hear a single word that stupid bear said!

As for the other bears he spoke to, there were some, but very few, and he couldn't remember what they said.

The final outcome, which is now, is that the male bear can only keep his mouth tightly shut, for fear of saying something he shouldn't and causing Guo Mi to turn around and leave on the spot.

Guo Mi followed behind Caesar, and could only see his white, bare buttocks.

She didn't try to sneakily find his tail hidden in his long fur, but the male bear kept stopping and starting, leaving her completely confused and wondering what he was up to.

They are currently heading in a completely unfamiliar direction to Guo Mi; she has no idea where they are going.

After hesitating for a moment, Guo Mi still raised her paw and ran a few steps to walk alongside Caesar.

Caesar paused in raising his claws, then forced himself to remain calm.

Guo Mi felt helpless as she listened to his noticeably heavier breathing.

The two bears crossed a rocky beach and then followed a stream that extended from the sea to a damp, low-lying area.

The soil was very moist, and lush green grass about half a meter tall was growing around it, swaying gently in the wind, interspersed with small pink wildflowers.

Guo Mi turned her head and sniffed, a fresh grassy scent filling her nostrils. She couldn't resist taking a bite, chewing it and swallowing it.

As Caesar walked, he suddenly realized that Guo Mi had fallen behind. He turned around and saw her standing in front of a patch of grass, chewing on some unknown grass with relish. Caesar's eyes instantly turned strange.

Guo Mi savored the scent of fresh grass in her mouth, feeling somewhat pleased.

Brown bears in the forest sometimes eat grass, but most of the time it's just to fill their stomachs when they can't find anything else to eat, and a small part is out of boredom.

Guo Mi sometimes eats grass and leaves, which is the same as eating vegetables when she was alive.

It's just that I've been in the Arctic for so long that I didn't even think about eating the grass, leaves, and fruits that grow in the summer. But when I smelled that aroma, my appetite suddenly returned.

As Caesar watched Guo Mi enjoying the grass, a doubt slowly arose in his mind: Was it really that delicious?
The male bear hesitated for a moment, but finally couldn't resist his curiosity. He stuck his head out to the edge of the grass, glanced at Guo Mi, and after confirming that she hadn't noticed him, quickly took a bite out of the grass!
A strange taste swept through my mouth; I couldn't quite describe it, but it certainly wasn't very tasty.

Caesar felt increasingly uneasy as he chewed, and taking advantage of Guo Mi's inattention, he quickly spat out the grass in his mouth, then used his paws to rummage around before hiding in the grass.

Guo Mi took a couple of bites of grass to satisfy her craving, then turned around contentedly and saw the male bear sitting upright, staring at the grass as if looking at something.

After Caesar made sure he had hidden the grass he had eaten, he was about to turn around and sneak another look at Guo Mi when he suddenly heard her voice:
"What are you looking at?"

Guo Mi walked up to Caesar, followed his gaze, and craned her neck to search in the grass.

...Nothing strange about it.

Caesar tensed up instantly upon seeing the way Guo Mi was searching, and the fur on the back of his head stood on end.

Although he didn't know what he was nervous about, he was just very nervous.

Guo Mi searched for a while but found nothing. Just as she was about to give up, she saw a small black insect crawling on a blade of grass. Its shell was shiny and had no patterns.

I don't know what kind of insect it is, but it looks familiar. I sometimes see bears eating it in the forest, and I didn't expect to see it here.

Gomi turned to Caesar and asked:
"Are you looking at this bug?"

Bugs? What bugs?
Caesar had no idea there were bugs in the grass, but when Guo Mi asked, he readily agreed.

"Correct."

Guo Mi was somewhat surprised:

"Do you want to eat this?" Caesar was stunned.
".?"

What to eat? Insects? Are insects even edible?

Before Caesar could figure it out, Guo Mi had already stepped aside, saying quite understandingly:

"Then you can eat it. I'll quietly move aside. Don't worry, it hasn't run away yet."

So she moved more quietly and took two steps to the side.

Caesar swallowed hard, stiffly raised his paw, and laboriously walked to Guo Mi's side.

The invincible male bear had been destroyed by a tiny insect. Head bowed, he aimlessly searched for the legendary "insect," a sudden urge rising within him to ask Guo Mi:
Does he really have to eat this bug?

But the strong-willed Caesar ultimately suppressed this impulse, comforting himself that it was alright, he could just close his eyes and swallow it later.

Seeing Caesar staring at the bushes for a long time without moving, Guo Mi felt a little strange. She took two steps forward and looked into the bushes with him. Suddenly, she exclaimed in surprise:
"The insects are gone?"

Caesar felt a sudden sense of relief, a surge of intense joy washing over him. But before he could fully relax, he heard Guo Mi say:

"I'm sorry, it seems I scared the bug away because I made too much noise. How about I find you another one?"

This was the first time Guo Mi had apologized to Caesar, but Caesar wished he hadn't heard it!

Seeing that Guo Mi had already stepped one of her bear paws into the bushes, looking ready to get down to business, Caesar quickly said:

"I'm not eating anymore, let's go."

Guo Mi turned to look at him, her gaze falling on Caesar's bear-like face.

The male bear's heart was pounding in his throat, fearing that she wouldn't give up and would continue searching for insects.

Fortunately, Guo Mi eventually withdrew her paw from the grass, walked to Caesar's side, and said casually:

"Okay, let's go. Where are we going?"

Caesar's heart finally relaxed completely, and he thought to himself that he would never eat insects again... no, he would never eat a single blade of grass again.

The two bears fell silent again, and Caesar led the way, half a body length ahead of Guo Mi.

Although they still didn't speak to each other, the little incident earlier had lightened the atmosphere considerably.

The low-lying areas became increasingly damp, and in some places even puddles formed.

Prolonged exposure to sunlight caused algae in the pond to multiply rapidly, which in turn led to a surge in the growth of other single-celled organisms and microorganisms in the water, resulting in poor water quality.

Guo Mi stretched out her claws and slashed across the water's surface, her sharp nails creating a long trail of viscous bubbles.

A faint, unpleasant odor wafted from the tip of my nose.

She withdrew her paws, reluctant to wade through the puddle.

Caesar seemed to read her mind and whispered:
"follow me."

Guo Mi looked up and saw the male bear nimbly stepping onto a narrow rock in the pool.

The rock was only big enough for Caesar to place two of his paws on, not enough for him to stand on it entirely, so he had to move all four of his paws at the same time to place them on different rocks.

Watching the male bear nimbly step over several stones, Guo Mi was somewhat surprised that Caesar's clumsy body was so agile.

Receiving her admiring gaze, the male bear, who had been sullen all morning, finally became somewhat smug and quickly stepped over a few more new stones.

Caesar deliberately quickened his pace, and when only the last stone remained, he turned around to experience Guo Mi's amazed gaze one more time, only to find that his hind leg had slipped into thin air!
"Plop——!"

Some bears, overjoyed, tragically plunged their paws heavily into the pool!
Brown bears are omnivores, and their diet is so extensive that you wouldn't even imagine; they will stuff plants, insects, and frogs into their mouths.

In contrast, polar bears have a much simpler diet. They are carnivores, although in recent years they have started to eat some non-meat foods due to environmental changes, but their diet is far less complex than that of brown bears.
