Chapter 56 Reindeer Appear
Guo Mi, carrying two small red-beaked birds in her mouth, swaggered out of the encirclement. Perhaps because of her sudden resistance, the flock of birds dared not make any further moves, and this time she didn't have much droppings on her.

The two bear cubs craned their necks in anticipation, and when they saw what she was holding in her mouth, they excitedly came over.

Guo Mi spat the two birds onto the ground, and gave one to a small fluffy ball.

It wasn't that she wasn't hungry, but these red-billed birds were too small for her, and taking a bite would leave her mouth full of feathers, making it less convenient than bird eggs.

It's nothing but fly meat.

Only energetic bear cubs have the patience to deal with such troublesome prey.

The two bear cubs curiously pawed at the bird on the ground; it was the first time they had ever seen such prey.

Guo Mi added a word of advice from the side:
"The fur must be cleaned off before eating."

So the two little guys lay on the rocks by the sea, patiently holding the bird down with their two front paws and plucking its feathers bit by bit.

Even if the two birds were given to the bear cubs in the end, they would only be given a taste, but they were able to keep the two bear cubs highly focused.

Distract yourself, or you can forget about hunger.

I have no idea what those crazy birds ate; their droppings smell so bad and can't be cleaned at all!

Guo Mi smelled the stench on herself and couldn't resist diving back into the sea to soak.

The seawater in summer is much warmer than the frozen lake in winter, so at least Guo Mi no longer needs to mentally prepare herself before going into the water.

The water, soaking through its thick fur, washed over its skin. Guo Mi squinted contentedly, gently paddling its limbs in the water.

Only after the two bear cubs had finished plucking the bird's feathers and swallowed their prey whole did Guo Mi swim to the shore, climb up the rocks piled up on the coast, and vigorously shake her feathers!
She sniffed twice, but could still faintly smell the lingering scent from the fur, and felt quite helpless.

If these strong scents remain on her body, it will make her and the bear's own scent stand out, which is dangerous and could attract other hungry bears.

It seems best for her to avoid provoking those crazy birds anytime soon.

Guo Mi led the two bear cubs away from the beach and headed towards the island, hoping to find other prey.

Meanwhile, Caesar, resting on the other side of the coastline, lay sprawled on a huge rock, his head lazily resting on his front paws, gazing absently in the direction where Guo Mi had just left.

While still marveling at the moment Guo Mi caught the bird, Slok excitedly asked Caesar:

"Caesar, did you see what Guo Mi did just now? I only blinked and she already had the bird in her mouth! Amazing!"

Having received no reply for a long time, Slok grew disappointed and climbed onto the rock, forcefully pushing the male bear lying on the rock with his paws:

"Are you listening to me?"

Caesar glanced casually to the side, his gaze landing on the bear paw that Slok had placed on his shoulder.

Slok felt a chill run down his spine and immediately lowered his claws, taking two steps back.

But he didn't give up, trying his best to make Caesar share his shock and excitement, and asked again:
"Did you see Guo Mi catching the bird?!"

Caesar stretched lazily.

He saw it; the round-faced plate bear was very good at setting bait, and she could always accurately find what would attract the prey's attention.

Slok was eager to try it out:

"Do you think I can catch birds like her? What do birds taste like..." Caesar got up amidst his incessant chatter, sniffed for a moment, and then raised his paw and walked in one of the directions.

Slok was still talking incessantly while gazing at the flocks of birds on the beach when he turned around and saw that Caesar had already walked quite a distance away. He hurriedly tried to follow, but Caesar stopped him:
"Don't follow me."

The male bear was so frightened that it stopped in its tracks and looked at him pitifully.

Caesar sighed in frustration, staring at the ground for a long while before finally giving in and whispering:
"Aren't you hungry? Stay here and wait for me."

Slok immediately dropped his pitiful and aggrieved look and sat down obediently:
"it is good--"

It even patted the rock beneath its feet with its paw:

"I'll be waiting for you here. You have to come back."

Caesar saw that his gaze had finally softened, and he turned and continued walking in the direction he had just left.

Slok's docile bear demeanor vanished the instant Caesar's figure disappeared. He immediately scrambled to his feet, turned to look at the flock of birds on the beach, licked his lips, and a fierce glint of determination flashed in his eyes. He raised his paw and trotted over there!
The poor flock of birds, which had just calmed down, hadn't even had a chance to rest when another enormous creature barged in!
……

Summer is approaching so clearly that even the withered branches and leaves that looked so pitiful in the winter sky are now covered in green.

The Arctic is far from having the lush vegetation and broad leaves that sway in the wind like in the tropics. Even in summer, the vegetation is mostly coniferous forests and tundra.

Although the color was not as lush as what Ru Mi had seen in the forest, it was still enough for her to feel the powerful vitality of all things coming back to life.

Looking around, Guo Mi sighed inwardly. Who would have thought that just a month ago this place was covered by thick ice and snow?

As her feet touched the dry soil, she felt a sense of reunion after a long separation.

This refreshing feeling brightened her mood, which had been low due to hunger!

Guo Mi regained her confidence and actively observed her surroundings, hoping to find some new food.

But after circling around, she was quickly disappointed. Apart from the newly grown short plants, everything around her was completely exposed at a glance. The entire desolate land was bare and exposed to the air.

Guo Mi was somewhat disappointed.

The fishbone suddenly leaned closer and said hesitantly:
"Guo Mi, I... I think I smell something."

Guo Mi's eyes lit up. The two little furballs had a much more sensitive sense of smell than she did, and they might have actually found some good prey.

She encouraged Fishbone to lead the way, and the three bears followed the information carried in the air as they searched.

As they got closer, Guo Mi could finally smell the familiar scent, a scent that, though slightly different, was enough to make her heart flutter!

Finally, by a stream, she spotted an animal that existed only in her memory.

It's a reindeer!
In the distance, reindeer gathered in small groups, grazing on the newly sprouted green grass by the water.

Reindeer are found in every corner of the world, and they have developed various branches based on their different living environments.

Guo Mi never expected to find such prey in the Arctic!

One reindeer can replace dozens of fish, and the energy it provides is incomparable to that of fish.

She had hunted reindeer in the forest before; Arctic reindeer are much smaller than forest reindeer.

Guo Mi has the confidence to succeed in hunting!
