Chapter 3 Two Reserve Grains

Guo Mi guessed that it must be the cub of that female bear, and it was extremely rare that it was not killed by the male bear.

Right now, the two bear cubs are hugging each other and snuggling together, looking at Guo Mi with terrified eyes.

One of the larger ones even had one ear perked up, and after hesitating for a moment, it let out a defiant roar at Guo Mi!

It had quite a strong presence, but unfortunately, the voice it uttered was too immature, a soft and thin little sound, like a lamb.

The bear cub seemed surprised by the effect of its fierce roar and stood there dumbfounded.

The other little bear hugged him tightly, its little head buried under his belly.

Perhaps sensing his younger brother's fear, the larger bear simply hid him behind its back, stood up shakily, and stood protectively in front of its brother.

Even though he was trembling with fear, he still had to muster up the courage to confront Guo Mi, such a behemoth.

After letting out two weak and breathless cries, it mustered its courage and charged towards Guo Mi, trying to scare her away!

Guo Mi just sat there, watching the little white thing bar its teeth and rush over, and simply raised its paw and pushed it away!
The poor little bear was pushed around in the snow and tumbled several times. When it sat up, its nose still had two specks of snow stuck to it.

It looks unusually clumsy.

However, Guo Mi felt that she was a naturally cold and hard woman and remained unmoved.

She dared not go back to eat the mother bear's carcass, but the two cubs looked alright.

The meat should be very tender and fresh!
Eat one, then save the other to eat when you can't find any more food. This can effectively extend the shelf life of food!
Thinking this, Guo Mi sat up, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth, and slowly approached the two bear cubs.

The polar bear cub, who had just been knocked over by Guo Mi, seemed to realize that it had no chance of resisting her. It resigned itself to its fate and hugged its younger brother, ready to accept its destiny.

Actually, she could have run away. No matter how powerful Guo Mi is, she can only kill one at a time. The smaller cub looks much weaker, and the stronger one could have just left it there and escaped on its own.

But she didn't.

Guo Mi's sharp canine teeth had already touched the cubs' trembling ears. After a while, she withdrew her mouth expressionlessly and casually pressed the heads of the two bear cubs into the snow with a paw.

"Looks like I'm not ruthless enough."

Thinking this, Guo Mi decisively turned around and left, leaving the two bear cubs behind.

She had already done more than enough by giving up the food she was about to eat; there was no way she would be willing to help the two bear cubs if she were to soften her heart again!

So Guo Mi quickened her pace and left quickly!
However, darkness fell quickly, giving Guo Mi no further chance to find food. The once bright sky turned gray in the blink of an eye, and the temperature plummeted.

More importantly, the cold wind suddenly became even more biting. Guo Mi, having found no food and feeling both cold and hungry, could only slink back to the little polar bear's hiding place.

"If they're still there, eat them!" Guo Mi began to mutter to herself, then quickened her pace.

I hadn't had much hope, but to my surprise, the two little polar bears were still there!
The two bear cubs huddled together, hiding among the bare branches in the snow, gazing longingly outside.

Guo Mi knew they were waiting for their mother to return, but sadly, they would never see her again.

The little polar bear, having caught the scent, looked precisely at Guo Mi's location, seemingly surprised that she had returned!
The two bear cubs immediately tensed up and kept hiding deeper into the dead branches.

Guo Mi wouldn't give them that chance. She ran over and pinned them both to the ground with a single claw!
The little polar bear's body heat flowed continuously through the pads of its paws, and the warmth made Guo Miwei sigh.

These two fluffy hot water bottles are being a bit naughty; they're both looking down, trying to bite Guo Mi's paws!

Guo Mi suppressed her irritation, took a deep breath, lay down and hugged the two bear cubs to her chest, letting out a satisfied sigh:
"This is so warm."

The cubs generally have a high body temperature, and holding them in your arms is like holding two hot water bottles, constantly transferring heat.

Guo Mi felt that even this cold woman was almost warmed up by the two bear cubs!

Now, the two bear cubs were the ones who were completely stunned, being pulled into Guo Mi's arms. You see, apart from their mother, no other bear had ever approached them like this before!

If other bears got this close to them, it only meant one thing: they would have their necks bitten off and die a violent death!
Although the unfamiliar embrace was as warm as a mother's, the unfamiliar atmosphere made them feel very uncomfortable.

As expected, the two bear cubs struggled fiercely.

Guo Mi had no choice but to hold them down, baring her teeth and threatening:

"Behave yourselves, or I'll eat you up!"

The two bear cubs were indeed too frightened to move. Guo Mi was a little surprised. Could polar bears understand what brown bears were saying?

But what happened next was even more unexpected. The larger polar bear cub suddenly muttered:

"Why are you holding us? And if you're so hungry, why don't you eat us?"

Guo Mi said in surprise:

"So you can talk..."

Then I felt puzzled:
How did you know I was hungry?

As soon as she finished speaking, her stomach rumbled with hunger, and the two cubs shrank back in fear.

But the bolder one couldn't help but ask:

"You smell like your mother, and the smell of blood is very strong. Did you kill your mother?"

As soon as she finished speaking, the other bear cub began to whimper.

They smelled the blood on Guo Mi early in the morning, as well as her mother's scent. Her mother had promised to come back for them after distracting the two male bears, but she hadn't returned by this late hour. They knew that her mother was probably in grave danger.

He was far less daring than his sister, who dared to question Guo Mi, a strange adult bear; he could only cry in secret.

One of the two bear cubs whimpered softly, while the other had red-rimmed eyes, both staring at Guo Mi.

Guo Mi sighed and finally decided to tell the truth:

“Your mother is indeed dead, and her body is not far away. I am sorry, but I am not the bear that killed her.”

Neither of the two bear cubs doubted what she said.

Because Guo Mi was fully capable of killing them, yet she didn't, and no bear would be friendly to two strange bear cubs, but Guo Mi had just hugged them, so they could only believe what she said.

However, they were still very sad to learn of their mother's death. At the same time, they were also afraid and confused about living alone on this land. Even the brave little bear cub couldn't help but hug his younger brother and cry!

Guo Mi couldn't stand the cold any longer, so she grabbed a bear cub with one paw and tucked it into her arms:

"It's dark now, and it's dangerous outside. We'll take you to find your mother when it's light, provided, of course, that her body hasn't been eaten by other animals."

She didn't tell the two bear cubs a white lie; she felt it was unnecessary.

The struggles of nature are bloody, violent, and cruel. To survive, one can only rely on sharp claws and brute force, or on wisdom. These two little bears do not need Guo Mi to weave beautiful dreams for them; they need to face reality.

The two bear cubs were still uncomfortable in Guo Mi's arms, but they didn't dare to resist. The bolder one asked in a frustrated tone:

"Why are you hugging us? You're not our mother." Only a mother bear hugs her cubs.

Guo Mi tucked her little head into her arms, her voice, shivering from the cold, simple and clear:
"Shut up, this is the payment I received in advance for taking you to find your mother!"

The two little bears then fell silent, enduring their discomfort as Guo Mi held them in her arms.
