Chapter 148 The Fruit Trees That Brought the Chapter

Chapter 148 The Fruit Trees Brought Back
Caesar went out of his way to find the fruit. Guo Mi couldn't bring herself to do something as bad as "reaching out to hit the smiling bear." She appreciated his kindness, sincerely said "thank you," and then took a bite of the fruit.

The round fruit wasn't as sweet as it looked; instead, it had a slightly sour taste. It wasn't astringent, but for Guo Mi, who was currently feeling nauseous, it was more effective than sweet fruit.

Using the sour taste to suppress the urge to vomit, she returned to the corpse, held her breath, and forced herself to eat again.

By the time he took his third bite, the wolf under his paws was being dragged away!
Caesar dragged the body aside, met Guo Mi's bewildered eyes, and said dejectedly:
"Maybe we shouldn't eat it?"

Guo Mi raised her paw to pull the corpse closer, but Caesar, a split second before her paw touched it, picked up the half-eaten wolf carcass again, took two steps back, and said once more:
"Don't eat it, it doesn't taste good."

He used the tip of his nose to push the fruit he had just brought back forward:
"You eat this."

Then he dragged the wolf a little further away, held it down with his paws, and said in a serious tone:

"I'll eat this."

Guo Mi glanced at the fruit in front of her, then at the wolf carcass that Caesar was practically crushing beneath him. Knowing he meant well, she said helplessly:
"it is good."

She plucked two fruits from the branch. The fruits were ripe, and the sour flesh slid down her tongue and into her stomach.

After eating several, she noticed Caesar was still staring at her, so she sincerely praised him:
"The fruit is delicious."

The male bear's eyes lit up, and he raised his paw to awkwardly scratch his ear, staring intently at Guo Mi.

Guo Mi felt uncomfortable under his gaze, so she could only pretend to be focused on eating the fruit, forcibly ignoring his intense stare, and swallowing the fruit one by one.

The sound of dry grass being parted rang in my ears again. When I looked up, I only had time to see Caesar's rear end disappear into the grass.

Guo Mi was a little puzzled by his whereabouts but didn't pay much attention to it. She simply lay down on the ground and guarded this small branch, eating the fruit on it one by one.

Just as she started to feel the sourness, she finished eating the fruit. She raised her paw and thoroughly examined the small clump of branches from all angles, making sure nothing was missed. Just as she was about to lie down and rest, she suddenly heard a sparse sound.

Upon closer listening, it sounded like something heavy being dragged across the ground.

Guo Mi sat up straight, somewhat alert, and looked in the direction from which the sound came, sniffing the air.

It tastes like Caesar, but there's also a slightly sour and refreshing flavor.

It looks familiar, it seems to be...

Guo Mi's gaze fell on the branch beside her paws, now devoured of fruit and reduced to mere leaves, and a tremor ran through her heart:

No way?
Before she could think further, Caesar quickly revealed the answer!
The first thing the male bear showed when it emerged from the grass was its white rump. It was straining with all four limbs, seemingly dragging something with great effort.

Guo Mi suddenly had a bad feeling. It wasn't until Caesar's whole body backed out of the grass that the first thing she saw was fresh tree roots still covered in soil!

"...?!"

But as the male bear panted heavily, the entire tree bearing small fruits was gradually dragged out of the grass!
Guo Mi stared wide-eyed, her mind completely blank.
Did he really drag the whole tree over?!
Caesar dragged the tree straight to Guo Mi, circled it once, and seemed very satisfied with his "labor." He turned his head and proudly raised his chin at Guo Mi, declaring with boundless pride:
"Eat!" Guo Mi raised her paw and touched her mouth. After confirming that her mouth was closed, she couldn't help but swallow.

The once lush plain was left with a long drag mark by Caesar's "evil deeds," and small, yellowish-red berries were scattered along the mark, some of them already crushed, looking quite desolate.

Caesar eagerly awaited to see Guo Mi's surprised expression, but after waiting for quite a while, he tilted his head, somewhat puzzled.

He then patted the tree trunk with his paw:
"Eat this, it's delicious!"

Guo Mi chuckled dryly. This fruit was sour, and it wouldn't taste as good if you ate too much. She had already eaten enough.

Caesar waited a long time without seeing her make a move. His eyes darted around, and he seemed a little annoyed. He sat there for a while before reluctantly saying:
"Those two little brats eat too!"

The little bear had stopped eating the moment Caesar dragged the tree back, staring in disbelief as he pulled such a heavy tree over.

Putting aside his bad temper, the male bear's superb physical strength has already made the little bear admire him from the bottom of his heart!

Hearing Caesar call his name, the little bear tilted his head, looked him over for a while, and then actually came over on his own.

The salmon brought its little nose close to the fruit, sniffed it, took a bite, smacked its lips, and gave its honest assessment:
"It's not very tasty, it's a bit sour."

Fishbone hesitated for a moment before walking over, eating a fruit, and then said:
"It is indeed quite sour."

When Caesar heard that his fruit had received such a poor review, he glared at them fiercely, gritting his teeth inwardly!

He realized that these two little brats were no longer afraid of him!
The salmon looked up and saw the male bear's eyes bulging out of their sockets. Its heart skipped a beat, and it subtly shrank back to Guo Mi's feet, obediently changing its words:
"Hmm...it's not that bad, actually. It's a bit sour, but if you eat it carefully, it's worth a try."

Fishbone looked at her questioningly, then plucked another fruit from the tree. Just as he was about to continue complaining about how bad it tasted, he suddenly saw his sister winking at him. Turning around, he was startled to see Caesar's grinning face and silently took two steps back.
"Uh, it's actually quite delicious."

Seeing that the two cubs were so sensible, Caesar was satisfied and dropped his threatening tone, speaking gruffly to the two bear cubs:
"Eat more if you like it! You all eat too, eat up!"

Under Caesar's threatening gaze, the poor little bear forced himself to eat the sour berries one by one, and even had to flatter him against his will:
"Yes, it's really delicious, and the sourness is quite unique."

Guo Mi opened her mouth, but then closed it again. After all, this was a rare opportunity for Caesar to get along well with the little bear, so she let it go.

However, she couldn't bear it and whispered:

"If you feel full, don't eat anymore, or you'll get a stomachache."

Unfortunately, the little bear seemed to have been soured that its brain was sluggish and it didn't understand.

Guo Mi could only watch helplessly as the little bear stuffed fruit into its mouth. After an unknown amount of time, she suddenly heard Caesar's somewhat uneasy and hesitant voice.

He asked her:

"Does this mean we've made up?"
