Chapter 272: Lan'er Returns to the Mountain, Rama's Reincarnation

Hu Xianfeng brought Hu Lailai back to Lingtai Divine Palace and immediately sent a letter to his wife to inform her of the matter.

Fortunately, Lan'er's travels were only within the territory of Xiniu Hezhou, so after receiving the news, she rushed back to the Danchiling Divine Palace in just four days.

At this moment, the inside and outside of the divine palace were crowded with people, most of whom were goblins from Lingtai Mountain. After hearing the news, they rushed to visit as soon as possible.

Lan'er was wearing a light jade silk gown, green lotus boots, a green jade silk belt around her waist, a jade belt to hold her hair together, and had a stern face.

"Everyone, get out of the way. Lady Shanjun is back." General Bear shouted and stretched out a pair of dark bear paws to push away the crowd.

When the surrounding goblins heard General Xiong's shout, they dispersed to both sides and bowed to Lan'er.

Arriving outside Hu Lailai's Yunfang residence, Hu Xianfeng heard the voice outside and quickly opened the door to greet her. He called out from a distance, "Madam, you're back."

After saying that, Tiger Pioneer strode forward. Lan'er looked at Tiger Pioneer coming towards her, took two steps forward, stretched out her hands, grabbed Tiger Pioneer's shoulders, turned around and threw him over her shoulder.

There was a "whoosh" sound, and then the Tiger Vanguard's strong and majestic body drew a semicircle in the sky, and then fell to the ground with a "bang", and the whole Danchi Ridge shook three times.

A cloud of dust rose up, and before Tiger Pioneer could get up from the ground, Lan'er rode on his back and punched him on the back more than ten times with her fists.

"You son of a bitch, what have you done to my son?" Lan'er cursed loudly.

Tiger Vanguard said, "Madam, you are making me feel so wronged. I never took care of them. How could I have harmed him like this? It was clearly that witch who did it."

When Lan Er heard this, she punched him several times and cursed, "You bastard! You still dare to quibble? It's the father's fault if he doesn't teach his son well. I heard about it on the way back. You didn't care that he made friends with the witch, and you didn't care that he stole the peaches. I'm traveling all over the place and have no time to take care of them. You, as a father, didn't care about your son, didn't teach him, and didn't restrain him, which led to him becoming like this. Isn't this your fault?"

Tiger Vanguard held his head and said, "Madam, I know I was wrong, I know I was wrong."

After hearing Hu Xianfeng admit his mistake, Lan'er stopped beating him. She stood up from Hu Xianfeng's back, snorted coldly, and turned to walk towards Hu Lailai's residence.

Lan'er entered the bedroom, only to see Hu Ququ and several boys from the Divine Palace guarding Hu Lailai's bed. Hu Lailai looked haggard and was barely breathing.

Lan'er's eyes were filled with tears. The boy next to her quickly stepped back when she saw this. Hu Ququ quickly stood up and called out, "Mother."

Lan'er reached out and touched Hu Ququ's face, then turned around to look at Hu Lailai on the bed.

Seeing Hu Lailai in such a miserable state, tears suddenly fell from Lan'er's eyes, but she held back her tears and instead stepped forward and called softly, "Lai'er?" She seemed unable to believe that the dying man lying on the bed was her high-spirited son.

When Hu Lailai heard the gentle call, his eyes, which had been tightly closed, trembled for a moment, and then slowly opened, "Mother? Is that you?"

Lan'er held Hu Lailai's cheeks with trembling hands, tears streaming down her cheeks. She said softly, "Lai'er, it's me. Mother is back to see you."

Hu Lailai looked at his mother with cloudy and lifeless eyes, then forced a smile on his face and said weakly: "Mother, I am an unfilial child. I have to go first."

Lan'er cried twice when she heard this, then wiped away her tears gently, stopped crying and said, "Laier, it's not that mother is heartless. This disaster is caused by you. You can't blame others. This disaster is destined for you. Life and death, honor and disgrace are all determined by heaven. My son, don't hold grudges."

Hu Lailai said in an extremely weak voice: "My child will remember what my mother said."

Lan'er nodded. Tiger Vanguard also walked in at this time. Lan'er heard Tiger Vanguard's footsteps and immediately turned around and asked, "Does the True Lord know about this?"

Tiger Vanguard shook his head and said, "It has not been reported yet."

Lan'er nodded slightly, wiped her tears again, and said, "The True Lord is an important official of the Heavenly Court, assisting the Great Heavenly Lord in ruling the Three Realms and governing all living things. Don't bother the True Lord with such trivial matters."

Tiger Vanguard nodded and said, "I understand what Madam said."

Lan Er stood up and asked again, "What did Bodhi Patriarch say at that time? What you said in the book is not very clear."

Then Tiger Vanguard told Lan'er what Patriarch Bodhi said. Lan'er pondered for a moment and said, "So my son's only chance of survival is to be exchanged for someone else's life?"

Tiger Vanguard was startled when he heard this and said, "I didn't think so much about this at the time."

Lan'er sighed and said, "Although Lailai is my biological son, he has caused such a disaster and even got himself killed. Ultimately, it is our fault for not disciplining him properly. As parents, we should do our best to give Lailai a chance to survive. But if I use someone else's life to exchange for my son's, how can I feel at ease?"

Tiger Vanguard said: "Bodhi Patriarch said that it is also the cause and effect of fate, and you and I are the same. If it is really as the Patriarch said, and fate is like this, how can you and I control it?"

When Lan Er heard this, she could only nod slowly and said, "Then let's wait and see."

Just after Lan'er returned to Lingtai Divine Palace, just one day later, a golden Buddha light fell outside the Danchiling Divine Palace and transformed into a young and handsome monk.

The monk clasped his hands together, looked up at the shrine, then looked at the mountain of peach trees behind him. A trace of nostalgia flashed in his eyes. The scenery here was almost the same as when he was a child.

This monk was none other than Rama, who came here in compliance with the command of Amitabha Buddha. He stepped towards the shrine, when suddenly two dark shadows flashed before his eyes and blocked his way.

Rama stopped and looked carefully, and found that they were two little wild boar spirits.

Rama smiled slightly, clasped his hands together and said, "I have come from Lingshan Mountain and have an important matter to pay to the Lingtai Mountain God. Please let me know."

The little wild boar on the left heard this and asked, "Who are you? What's your name?"

Rama smiled and said, "I am a disciple of Amitabha Buddha in the Western Paradise, and my Dharma name is Rama."

Hearing this, the little wild boar spirit on the right whispered to the little wild boar spirit on the left: "His name is so long."

The little wild boar on the left glanced at Rama and nodded, saying, "Yeah, yes. It's strange that someone would give himself such a long name."

Rama listened to the conversation between the two little demons, but he was not angry. He just smiled and said, "Just say Rama is here to visit."

"Oh." The little wild boar spirit on the left responded, and said to the little wild boar spirit on the right: "You stay here and guard it. I will go and inform the tiger king."

The little wild boar on the right nodded and said, "Go ahead."

Watching the little wild boar spirit enter the divine palace, Rama waited there. At this time, the remaining little wild boar spirit looked at Rama and suddenly asked, "Are you a master in Buddhism?" Rama smiled and said, "I don't dare to be a master, I am just an ordinary monk."

The little wild boar thought for a moment and said, "I have a question for you, is that ok?"

At this point, the little wild boar thought for a moment, then took out a bulging oil paper from his arms, handed it to Rama reluctantly, and said, "If you can answer this question, I'll give you the barbecue inside."

Rama laughed and said, "Monks do not eat meat. If you have any questions, please tell me."

The little wild boar was very happy to hear this, and quickly put away the package of barbecue that he had treasured for a long time, and then asked Rama: "The Wonderful Flower Scroll says, 'All emptiness is not empty, and all appearances are without appearance. When you practice giving up, all appearances arise, and then all appearances see me, and I see all appearances.' How should I understand this?"

Rama was stunned for a moment, then asked in astonishment: "Where did you learn such profound Buddhist scriptures?"

The little wild boar spirit said, "I remembered this sentence from the sutra that the two Bodhisattvas preached in the Tiger Spirit Cave."

Rama suddenly understood what he said, and immediately reached out and patted the little wild boar spirit on the head and said, "It is enough to remember this sentence. Understand it well, and you will benefit a lot from it when you become an immortal."

The little wild boar said, "But I don't understand."

Rama had already seen the figure of the Tiger Vanguard in front of him. When he heard what the little wild boar said, he immediately spread his hands and said, "I don't understand either."

"Rama!" Tiger Vanguard shouted when he saw Rama from a distance, "Why are you back?"

Rama hurried forward and bowed to Tiger Vanguard, saying, "Godfather."

Tiger Vanguard quickly helped Rama up and asked again: "Why are you back?"

Rama said, "I have come here to pay off my karma according to the master's command."

Tiger Vanguard was shocked and froze in his place. He looked straight at Rama. After a while, he finally reacted and murmured, "So the cause and effect and the ray of hope that the ancestor talked about actually fell on you."

Rama asked in surprise: "Ancestor?"

Tiger Vanguard came back to his senses, looked at Rama with complicated eyes and said: "It is the Bodhi Patriarch in the Three Stars Cave of the Slanting Moon."

"Oh," Rama suddenly realized, "Is it the Buddha of the Wonderful Saint Bodhi?"

"Yes," Tiger Pioneer nodded.

Rama smiled and said, "Godfather, where is Brother Hu Lailai now?"

Tiger Vanguard looked at Rama with a complicated expression on his face, and for a moment he didn't know how to answer.

It was not until Rama asked again that Tiger Vanguard finally came to his senses, and then smiled and said to Rama: "Your brother Tiger Lailai is very well. There are things going on in the mansion these days. I am very busy. Please come back later."

As he said this, Tiger Vanguard pretended to push Rama out of the house. Rama hurriedly said, "Foster father, you and mother raised me up. Your kindness is as heavy as a mountain. Now that Brother Tiger Lailai is in trouble, I will take myself with me to repay your kindness."

"Who asked you to repay a favor? Go away quickly. We don't have time to welcome you here." Tiger Vanguard said as he continued to push Rama out.

Rama was pushed a few steps by the tiger vanguard, and suddenly shouted to the distance: "Mother, my child Rama is back."

Tiger Vanguard quickly turned around and saw Lan'er was nowhere to be seen. He then realized something was wrong. By the time he reacted, Rama had already rushed in.

"Good boy, monks don't tell lies, but you just lied to your father." Tiger Vanguard said angrily.

Rama did not respond because he had already disappeared in a flash.

Tiger Vanguard hurriedly chased after him, and when he arrived at Hu Lailai's room, he saw that Rama had already rushed to the bed where Hu Lailai was, and grabbed Hu Lailai's wrist with one hand.

Lan'er and Hu Ququ grabbed Rama's arms, one on the left and one on the right, trying to pull him away, but Rama's body was filled with Buddha's light, and he instantly pushed Lan'er and Hu Ququ aside.

Lan'er steadied herself and quickly turned to Tiger Vanguard and said, "Quick, stop Mo'er. He wants to exchange his life for yours to repay the kindness of raising me."

Upon hearing this, Tiger Vanguard immediately rushed forward and directly broke through the Buddha's light surrounding Rama. He stretched out his hands and hugged Rama, and was about to pull him away.

At the same time, in the palace of King Qin Guang in the underworld, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva saw the scene in Hu Lailai's bedroom in the mirror in front of him, and hurriedly said to Judge Cui beside him: "Quick, settle the account quickly."

Judge Cui received the order from Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and quickly used the judge's pen to make a mark on the Book of Life and Death, immediately ending Rama's life.

In an instant, Rama's life came to an end, and all his magical power and blood poured into Hu Lailai's body like a tide. He himself became emaciated, his blood and energy were exhausted, and he had no vitality left. He turned into a dried corpse and fell to the ground, already dead.

Hu Lailai instantly became full of energy, abundant blood and vitality, and was reborn like a dead tree coming back to life in spring.

"Third brother!" Hu Lailai, who had come back to life, shouted loudly, immediately jumped up from the bed and hugged the stiff and shriveled body of Rama.

"Third brother!" "More!"

Hu Ququ, Hu Xianfeng and Lan'er also rushed over. The whole family gathered together, hugging Rama's body and feeling extremely sad.

On the other hand, as soon as Rama died, his soul came before Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

Rama bowed to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and said, "Disciple Rama, I pay my respects to the Bodhisattva."

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva put his palms together in return and said with a smile: "Congratulations, you have repaid all karma, cut off worldly ties, and completed your merits. You will definitely achieve the right result in the next life."

Rama bowed and said, "Thank you, Bodhisattva."

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled and nodded, then personally took Rama to the reincarnation platform and sent him into the "heavenly way" reincarnation.
