Chapter 39: Eat quickly! The power of cognition!
Chapter 39: Eat quickly! The power of cognition!
Ian's attention was attracted by the apple that looked as dazzling as a work of art.
Pandro urged from the side.
"Hurry! Eat it quickly, don't let the old witch see it, or she will snatch it away from you." Pandro said as he rushed forward and stuffed the golden apple into Ian's mouth.
"Cough cough!"
This was Ian's first time trying to eat something from the Bizarre Fantasy. Pandro's behavior was a bit rude and he almost choked. Fortunately, the apple, which was as big as a fist, melted in his mouth.
"Ian is glowing!"
Ariana exclaimed.
Ian was unable to see her expression.
Because now he only felt a warm and strange power flowing through his body in an instant, the strange feeling as if his soul was cleansed, made him unable to help but close his eyes to feel it carefully.
The body seems to be injected with energy and vitality.
"Bang~"
It was not Ian who exploded, but the sound of something iron hitting the wall in the hall. Then, Ian vaguely heard Pandro's somewhat panicked voice.
"That woman heard me calling her an old witch! Go away! Go away!"
"Ian, we'll be waiting for you in town!"
……
Ariana and Pandro's voices intertwined.
Gradually drifting away into the distance.
Ian didn't know how much time had passed. When he opened his eyes again, all the furniture in the hall was back and the witch was looking at him with a complicated look.
"I didn't expect that they would actually find it..."
The witch's tone was amazed.
"I remember you said, teacher, that you cut down the last golden apple tree in the world?" When Ian was in the hazy illusion, he could not check his changes through the panel.
He now felt that his mind was clearer than ever before.
"Apparently, someone smuggled here with seeds before I cut down the last golden apple tree." The witch gave an explanation that made Ian's eyes widen.
"Is there anyone else who can do this before me?" Ian was quite surprised.
The witch shook her head.
"Foolish little guy, no wizard is as special as you, so naturally no wizard will get the same preference as you. All I said was that I brought a seed here."
"I don't know what method it is, but there are too many amazing wizards in history, and many legends in the past are likely to be able to do something that goes against common sense."
The witch stared at Ian's childish face.
Whisper softly.
"After all, the reason why legends are legends is that they can create impossible miracles." The tapestries on the wall seemed to tremble slightly because of the witch's gentle narration.
The flames in those paintings seemed to burn even more violently.
"Maybe I can find some useful information in the school library." Ian nodded thoughtfully. There are certainly not many wizards throughout history who can be called legendary.
"You might as well ask your damn butcher friend. Since he was able to bring this golden apple back for you, it naturally means that he already knew where the golden apple was planted."
The witch rolled her eyes at Ian, looking at him as if he were an idiot.
"He doesn't have much memory left."
Ian gave a helpless answer. Of course, he had thought about this approach.
"Then he is really pitiful."
The witch smiled with a fake smile.
"Teacher, I apologize to you on his behalf. He has always been a very reckless guy." Ian lowered his attitude and spoke in a sincere tone, "I promise to find your mirror for you, and other things you want, as compensation for his deep apology to you."
Hear the words.
The witch's expression was not so ugly.
"I just want my mirror."
After a brief pause, she added.
"And the dragon he promised to capture!"
Good guy!
as predicted!
The witch really has been hiding deep in the castle and eavesdropping!
"No problem at all!"
Ian nodded quickly and agreed. However, although the expression of this frustrated teacher had calmed down a lot, he still couldn't help cursing Pandro again.
"Damned troublemaker! Evil executioner! Disgusting and despicable plunderer!" She kept calling Pandro a lot of ugly names.
"He must have been an extraordinary person when he was alive?"
Ian asked tentatively.
Of course he could tell that the witch knew a lot about Pandro. "My stupid apprentice, why do you always ask such stupid questions?"
The witch glanced at Ian with disdain.
"The answer has actually been presented to you for a long time, but you chose to ignore the truth." The witch sighed heavily, but her words made Ian look confused.
What did he ignore?
How come he doesn't realize it himself?
"Teacher, I admit that I am a fool, so can you tell me who he is?"
Ian couldn't suppress his curiosity.
"You're a piggy, but I'm not."
The witch sneered, "I'm telling you, and asking you to tell him again. Once he remembers, he can continue to jump around here for many years. Do you think I'm the kind of person who would make myself uncomfortable?"
Teacher Mara really seems to dislike Pandro.
What she said makes so much sense.
Ian didn't know how to respond.
"You know what? Including all the creations in this castle, and the abilities I showed you, these are not magic, but just a kind of shaping brought about by cognition."
The witch suddenly began to sigh in a very abrupt manner.
"Cognition?"
Ian felt a little surprised.
"Yes, in this land far away from the mortal world, cognition determines what you can do here." The witch nodded and continued to explain patiently.
"I believe in the power of knowledge, and he believes that he can do whatever he wants to do... Three times, he proved that his knowledge is more firm than mine."
The witch tactfully explained why she was no match for Pandro.
The tone was also somewhat unwilling and... lonely.
"Is this also possible?!"
It was hard for Ian to imagine that someone was actually using the "power of my thoughts" in the hazy fantasy world.
"Yes, it is so unreasonable that knowledge cannot defeat faith. Isn't this an impossible miracle?" The witch sighed.
Just when Ian was still wondering whether there were some hints in her words.
The witch looked up.
His eyes looked at the scattered pieces of armor outside.
"You are responsible for reshaping these guards for me."
Another sudden turn.
Ian was stunned for a moment. They were just talking about Pandro, but how come Teacher Mara suddenly made a 365-degree turn?
hiss!
The old woman's train of thought!
"Ah? Didn't we agree to have him find a dead dragon to guard the house for you?"
Ian's eyes widened innocently.
"That's compensation, and this is your duty as an apprentice." The witch sneered and grabbed a potion-transcribed textbook that Ian brought in.
"I can only make small figures, not a moving iron man."
Ian spread his hands.
The witch sneered in response.
"No, then go learn."
What familiar words.
“Is this considered a new assignment?”
Ian could already feel his presence beginning to wane.
"I don't expect you to learn it in a few days, but I will check your progress regularly." The witch who was reading the potion text tore off a corner of her dress again.
"Next time, go back to that little girl's town first, and then come back to find me." With a light throw by the witch, the piece of dress covered with runes fell into Ian's hands.
"I'm afraid I won't have enough time."
Ian's presence has begun to fade.
"It will be in time. Things are different now."
The witch's voice was filled with understated certainty. She never looked up from beginning to end, and was always reading the copy of the textbook that Ian brought in.
"Tick-tick-tick-tick-tick~"
The clock is ticking.
Ian suddenly opened his eyes in the real world.
He rarely looked at the time on the wall, nor did he look at the piece of dress in his hand. Instead, he couldn't wait to open his personal panel.
