Chapter 2 Funder Dad
Fu Xicheng's words were perfectly reasonable, but Jiang Yuning vaguely felt that something was not quite right.

She raised her eyes and carefully examined the man in front of her from head to toe.

The man was dressed in a suit and tie, and he smiled with a refined and gentle demeanor. His unique temperament made him look nothing like an ordinary office worker.

He doesn't seem like the type to add people on WeChat just for 1000 yuan. Does he have some ulterior motive?
Jiang Yuning pondered carefully, coming up with many reasonable explanations in her mind.

Fu Xicheng took a step forward and placed his hands on her shoulders.

He said in a low voice, "Miss, are you trying to renege on your debt? Or are you thinking about how to make a quick getaway?"

Jiang Yuning frowned. She felt something was off about her today; she didn't seem to dislike the man in front of her.

If his actions and words had occurred normally, she probably would have pushed him away and warned him with harsh words.

But today, she felt that her behavior was too abnormal.

In just a few seconds, Fu Xicheng released Jiang Yuning, took a few steps back, and said, "I'm sorry, I overstepped my bounds just now."

Jiang Yuning didn't speak; she tapped the blacked-out screen of her phone.

"Aren't you afraid I'll renege on the debt? Hurry up and transfer the money to you now. I'm afraid if the security guards come later, we'll both be finished."

Fu Xicheng took out his phone. They added each other as friends very quickly, and the page showed that he had successfully added the other person as a friend.

He chuckled softly, but before he could even check the receipts, he heard a shout coming from not far away.

"She's there, hurry and chase after her."

Jiang Yuning thought she had escaped the security guards' search and was safe, but who knew that these security guards were so dedicated and still wouldn't let her go.

Fu Xicheng reacted quickly; he grabbed Jiang Yuning's wrist and pulled her to run in the opposite direction.

He ran quickly with Jiang Yuning, and when they reached an elevator, he pressed the button and pulled her into the elevator.

The elevator slowly descended, and Jiang Yuning patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you for earlier."

"You're welcome."

Seeing this, Fu Xicheng followed up by asking, "What is your surname, Miss?"

Jiang Yuning paused for a second. This man had helped her twice today, so it wouldn't hurt to tell him her name. Besides, she planned to delete him after he received the money.

She came here simply to finalize the design with the client. Now that it's done, she won't come back here again, and she certainly won't run into him again.

Jiang Yuning had thought things through very thoroughly; she had already considered things that hadn't even happened yet.

"Jiang Yuning, that's my name."

"Hello, Miss Jiang, my name is Fu Xicheng."

Jiang Yuning subconsciously glanced at the man beside her. Fu Xicheng?

She felt the name was familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had heard it before.

She casually asked, "Mr. Fu doesn't seem like someone who's short of money."

Fu Xicheng nodded and said sincerely, "No one in the world would complain about making more money, especially since I earned this money very easily today. Thank you for your generosity, my benefactor."

"what?"

Jiang Yuning couldn't believe her ears. This was the first time in her life that someone had called her "sugar daddy," and it was a man who did it.

Fu Xicheng didn't feel embarrassed at all. He narrowed his peach blossom eyes and said, "You heard me right."

Jiang Yuning kept her head down and didn't say a word.

Fu Xicheng escorted her to the basement level.

The elevator doors slowly opened, and Fu Xicheng and Jiang Yuning stepped out. He pointed to the road in front of them.

"Miss Jiang, just follow this road west, and you'll exit the underground parking lot." Jiang Yuning thanked her and left without looking back.

After Jiang Yuning left, Fu Xicheng took out his phone, looked down at the page showing that he had successfully added her as a friend, and slowly chuckled, "Jiang Yuning, we have a long future ahead of us."

Fu Xicheng pressed the button and went directly to the second basement level. He drove to the Lantian Building and took the elevator all the way to the top floor.

He walked into the president's office and saw Lu Zhiqian engrossed in reviewing the documents on the table.

Fu Xicheng sat down opposite him, leaning back in his chair and elegantly crossing his legs.

"Zhiqian, you go ahead and do your work. We'll go eat after you're done."

Lu Zhiqian ignored him and continued reviewing the documents in his hands.

Fu Xicheng slowly opened WeChat on his phone and began to browse through Jiang Yuning's previous posts.

Jiang Yuning doesn't post much on his WeChat Moments; some are about his life, some are about his work, and he carefully reads every single one.

When he came across a photo of her having dinner with some friends, in which she was making a heart shape with her hands, Fu Xicheng seemed to remember something and chuckled softly.

The man sitting opposite him looked up and tapped the desk in front of him with a black pen.

"You're smiling so brightly, do you have a girlfriend?"

“I’m thinking of pursuing her,” Fu Xicheng said without looking up as he scrolled through his WeChat Moments.

Lu Zhiqian suddenly became interested. He walked around from the opposite side of the desk, hooked his arm around Fu Xicheng's shoulder, and led him to a sofa not far away.

"is her?"

Fu Xicheng could no longer hide his smile. "Yes, it's been five years since we last met. I never expected to run into her here."

"Five years ago, you had only met a few times. I remember she didn't even know your name."

Fu Xicheng blinked and curled his lips into a smile. "Lu Zhiqian, she knows now."

Lu Zhiqian: "..."

Fu Xicheng hadn't won over the girl he liked yet, but he had a feeling that she was showing off her affection to him.

Jiang Yuning glanced at her phone habitually and found no messages.

Recalling her actions yesterday, she slapped Gu Yan and then blocked him. Gu Yan, who was so concerned about his reputation, didn't bother her at all.

Jiang Yuning quickly packed everything up and drove to the company.

She turned on her computer and began making modifications according to the client's requirements from yesterday. Soon, she finished revising her design draft.

"Yu Ning, the director wants to see you in his office." The speaker was Meng Shuyu, Jiang Yu Ning's colleague, who had just returned from the director's office.

Jiang Yuning made an OK sign, then got up and walked into the office of the design director.

As soon as she entered the room, she saw a man sitting on the sofa. He was dressed in a suit and tie and was holding a document in his hand.

Suddenly, Jiang Yuning's expression changed. This person was none other than Gu Yan, whom she had just slapped yesterday.
