Chapter 168 Ningning, Don't Cry

Shi Tianyi dodged nimbly, completely unaware that Fu Xicheng had accomplices.

Wen Shu's eyes narrowed, and he revealed murderous intent. He delivered a fierce whirlwind kick straight to Shi Tianyi's abdomen.

Shi Tianyi swayed slightly, but he steadied himself and frantically swung the dagger in his hand.

Wen Shu was agile and nimble, and Shi Tianyi was no match for him. In less than two minutes, he knocked Shi Tianyi to the ground.

He found a thick rope on the ground nearby and tied it to a table next to him.

Wen Shu walked to Fu Xicheng's side, squatted down, and asked with concern, "Mr. Fu, are you alright?"

Blood trickled from the corner of Fu Xicheng's mouth. His voice was weak, but he still remembered to instruct him to save Jiang Yuning first.

He struggled to speak, "Save Ningning first."

Wen Shu gently laid Fu Xicheng's body flat, and then quickly untied Jiang Yuning.

Jiang Yuning staggered towards Fu Xicheng, knelt beside him, gently lifted his body, and called his name with a sob in her voice.

"Fu Xicheng, you absolutely cannot be hurt."

Her long eyelashes were covered with tears, and her voice was pleading, "If you dare to faint, I will never speak to you again."

Fu Xicheng raised his trembling fingertips and gently wiped away the tears from Jiang Yuning's eyes. He was seriously injured, but he was still trying to soothe her emotions.

"Ningning, don't cry."

How could she remain calm and act as if nothing had happened, without crying, after Fu Xicheng suffered such serious injuries?

Jiang Yuning's mind was in a mess. She said anxiously, "Now is not the time to talk nonsense. I'll call 120 first."

Wen Shu immediately stopped Jiang Yuning's actions. Fu Xicheng had been shot and was now in the hospital. If the medical staff secretly reported him, the local police would definitely intervene and investigate.

"Miss Jiang, you can't take Mr. Fu to the hospital."

Jiang Yuning didn't understand the implications; all she wanted now was for Fu Xicheng to live.

She panicked, "But he's dying now."

Wen Shu calmly said, "Let's go back to the villa first. There's a family doctor there."

Jiang Yuning had no choice but to nod and accept Wen Shu's advice.

She looked up and asked, "What do you plan to do with that man?"

Wen Shu walked up to the man and swiftly knocked him unconscious with a single blow.

He carefully approached Fu Xicheng, hoisted him onto his shoulder, and quickly left the area.

Jiang Yuning, holding her phone, quickly followed closely behind him.

On the way back to the Fu family, Jiang Yuning used the gauze in the car to stop Fu Xicheng's bleeding. Looking at his pale face, it was as if he had lost all life.

Wen Shu drove fast and steadily, and when the vehicle arrived at the villa, the family doctor had been waiting there for a long time.

Fu Xicheng was rushed into a room for surgery, while Jiang Yuning waited anxiously outside.

Wen Shu leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. He had just sent someone to the dock to capture Shi Tianyi and take him to a secret room.

Now all that's left is to wait for Fu Xicheng to wake up so we can discuss the next steps.

A long time passed, and the door to Fu Xicheng's room remained tightly closed; no one came out.

At this moment, Xu Yansheng rushed back from outside.

He saw Jiang Yuning standing by the wall, looking disheveled and motionless, her eyes glazed over.

He approached slowly and advised, "Miss Jiang, Fu Xicheng is in good health, he will definitely be fine. Why don't you change your clothes first and go have a meal before coming back?"

Jiang Yuning shook her head. "Mr. Xu, I want to wait for him to come out here." Xu Yansheng said earnestly, "He doesn't know when he'll be out yet. Even if he does, he might be unconscious. He doesn't want anything to happen to you, so Miss Jiang, do you understand what I mean?"

Jiang Yuning naturally understood Xu Yansheng's meaning, but she couldn't help but worry when she thought of Fu Xicheng lying on the ground covered in blood.

"I can't eat. I need to make sure Fu Xicheng is safe and sound before I can do anything else."

Xu Yansheng did not continue to dissuade her; if Jiang Yuning wanted to stay, then she could stay.

He called Wen Shu out and then inquired about what had happened.

Wen Shu truthfully reported everything he knew. After the report, Xu Yansheng asked him to investigate the man's background.

About an hour later, the door to the room finally opened.

Jiang Yuning quickly stood up from the ground; her legs were numb and she almost couldn't support herself.

She went over and asked anxiously, "How is Fu Xicheng?"

"The surgery went smoothly. He is now weak and needs to rest and recover."

Jiang Yuning stood at the doorway and looked inside.

Fu Xicheng lay on the bed with his eyes closed. She went in, and tears streamed down her face.

She turned away, wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes. She couldn't cry; Fu Xicheng didn't like her crying.

Xu Yansheng spoke up at the right moment: "Miss Jiang, why don't you go to the next room and rest for a while? I'll take care of Fu Xicheng."

Jiang Yuning nodded, washed her face, and went to the bathroom to tidy up her clothes.

She opened her phone and found many messages popping up in WeChat and her email.

When she saw that Yuecheng Company had cancelled the cooperation, her heart sank. She felt heavy-hearted as she thought about how her artwork, which she had revised day and night, had been rendered useless.

Jiang Yuning stopped looking at the messages on her phone and went back to Fu Xicheng's room.

Xu Yansheng looked up and saw that Jiang Yuning was still wearing those dirty clothes.

“Miss Jiang, there should be some clean clothes for you in Fu Xicheng’s bedroom. You can go to his bedroom to freshen up.”

Jiang Yuning looked down at her shirt and nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Xu."

She entered Fu Xicheng's bedroom and carefully examined the layout of the room.

She walked up to a wardrobe, opened it, and discovered a hidden dressing room behind it.

She went inside and saw rows of shelves filled with a dazzling array of clothes.

Jiang Yuning picked out a dress at random and found that it was her size.

She had no idea when Fu Xicheng had prepared her clothes in the room; she was now filled with gratitude.

She went into the bathroom and found a pair of couple's wash cups on the sink, and the woman's wash cup was still in place.

Jiang Yuning didn't dare to think too much. She quickly finished her shower, changed her clothes, and returned to the room where Fu Xicheng was.

Fu Xicheng lay unconscious on the bed, his pale face a heartbreaking sight.

Jiang Yuning stared intently at him, hoping that Fu Xicheng would wake up soon.

"Mr. Xu, I would like to spend the night with Fu Xicheng."

Xu Yansheng nodded. He had a lot to do, and it was good that Jiang Yuning was by Fu Xicheng's side. He could go and attend to his own business.

"Miss Jiang will stay with me tonight, and I'll take over tomorrow morning. After all, one person's energy is limited."
