Chapter 624 The King of Silence in Desperate Circumstances

Chapter 624 The King of Silence in Desperate Circumstances

Never before had the Silent King's court been so silent; his flagship, the Song of Annihilation, was as silent as he himself.
Each Necromancer could vaguely sense the wrath of the Necromancer Lord.

"Why are there so many traitors! These shameful traitors dare to betray the mercy and trust of the Silent King!"

"Imotech, you shameless traitor! Zandrek, you shameless traitor!"

Only the Radiant Hapsarast stood beside the Silent King, roaring incessantly.

He was like the embodiment of the Silent King's anger, vehemently condemning the space undead who had betrayed the Silent King's will.

Eurycan remained silent, simply staring at the battle map in mid-air.
The Sindu system has fallen. The forces directly under the Silent King were caught in a pincer attack by the Storm King's fleet, the human fleet, and the Zandrek fleet. The entire fleet was completely annihilated in less than four hours.

After all, even the fleet's supreme commander, Zandreik, has betrayed them. How can they possibly fight?
Only the World Engine, under Xerath's command, is still putting up a desperate resistance, but human and Zandreik forces have already boarded it, and the World Engine is likely doomed.
Among them is a method for reversing biological transformation, which the Silent King held great hope for.

Many dynasties had been wavering between the Silent King and Zhou Yun, with Zhou Yun promising to bestow souls on one side and the Silent King promising to reverse the transformation of life forms on the other.

Most dynasties favored the Silent King simply because he was the original ruler of the undead, and were influenced by inertia.

The Silent King is now suffering repeated military setbacks, the Spirit-Driven Dead Zone is on the verge of collapse, and the method to reverse biological transformation is likely to be lost. Many dynasties are gradually beginning to lean towards humanity again. Of course, much of this is being secretly pushed by Orikan.

Using his astrological skills and Zhou Yun's hints, Eurycan clearly understood the weaknesses of every Archon and Overlord, and often subtly induced the Silent King to strike at these weaknesses, thereby inciting dissatisfaction among the Archons and Overlords.
It went so smoothly that even Eurycan himself found it a bit unbelievable. Was the King of Silence really so easy to manipulate? Eurycan was an astrologer, not a fraudster.
It was as if a fraudster was whispering in the ear of the Silent King, helping Eurykian to deceive and trick him.

"Can't these foolish traitors see the great glory of King Szalak the Silent?"

"Have we forgotten the great contributions that the great King Silent Szalak made to his people?"

"Can't they reach out and place their hands on their own metal chests, feel their own non-existent heartbeats, and think about what the Silent King gave them?"

The Radiant Hapsarast is still clamoring.

As Eurican listened to his words, he couldn't help but place his hand on his own metal chest, feeling the cool body beneath. Eurican almost burst out laughing.
Isn't this what the Silent King brought them?
Damn it, Hapsarast, are you some kind of clown in disguise? How come you have such a talent for being a clown?
Orikan slightly raised his head and looked at Hapsalaster.
But his gaze involuntarily drifted toward the Silent King.

The Silent King's face no longer held clear anger; only indifference, self-mockery, and a bitter smile that seemed to mock himself remained.
It's like after the fire of anger has burned out, what remains is...
Sizzle!!!
A metal spear, wreathed in an inextinguishable flame, was suddenly drawn and pierced through Hapsarast's back before he could react.

Hapsalast slightly opened his mouth, and a sharp wail escaped his lips, but it was quickly replaced by a mocking laugh.
Hapsarast's body collided violently, his metal skeleton scattering everywhere, and a golden figure composed of scorching energy and living metal emerged from his body.
The golden figure was agile, wrapped in golden ribbons, and its face was twisted like a mocking clown. Star God, Deceiver Mephisto!

The shard of the Star God mocked the Silent King with its sharp edge, but his chest was also pierced by the Silent King's spear.

Starting from the tip of the spear, the dimensional lattice began to crack, disintegrate, and disintegrate amidst mournful cries. The skeleton of reality also crumbled inch by inch as it twisted, and this fragment of the deceitful star god in reality began to crumble and disintegrate as well.
In the blink of an eye, the fragment of the Star God shattered into even more fragments, exploding in all directions. But before they had flown more than a few meters, the Silent King waved his hand slightly, and a series of hyperdimensional cube mazes captured all the fragments of the Star God.

That damn Hapsarast is a real fraudster!

Euricane was a little stunned.

But the Silent King remained unmoved, and simply walked step by step toward Eurycan, standing before him.

"Master Orikan".

This time, the King of Silence did not remain silent, but spoke to Eurycan in a slightly elegant voice:
"You tell me, why are there so many traitors?"

An unbearable, bone-chilling cold suddenly emanated from Orikan's metallic body.

The Silent King at this moment felt completely different to him than before; it was almost like...
Euricen suddenly remembered.
The Silent King now is very much like the Silent King who led the undead in their rebellion against the Star Gods.
Although not exactly the same, they are very close.
"Because...because those shameless traitors have forgotten the greatness of the Silent King, forgotten your past achievements, because those traitors do not understand loyalty."

"Are you the same, Master?" The spear in the Silent King's hand flickered with an inextinguishable flame.
That wasn't the flame from the spear itself; it was the lament and curse of a shattered god.

That was a god-slaying weapon.
The Silent King once wielded this spear and single-handedly shattered the Star God Burner. The Burner's pain, wails, and curses transformed into flames that forever entwined the spear.
After the destruction of the Star God, most of the god-slaying weapons were destroyed by the Space Necromancers, but it is clear that the Silent King preserved this one.
Eurykian shifted his gaze from the spear to the Silent King.
"You want to kill me?" Eurican asked calmly.

“No, Eurican, my friend, I will not do that.”

The Silent King revealed a slight smile:
"Sixty million years ago, you advised me against carrying out biotransformation. Although I did not heed your advice, I will always remember your contribution."

"I therefore forgive your betrayal this time and sincerely invite you to continue to serve me in the future."

“I refuse. I already have a new patron.” Eurican shook his head slightly. “You don’t need to refuse,” the Silent King said calmly. “Because I allow you to continue serving that god, Saint Doraemon, right?”

"But when I win, you will eventually come back to my side, and we can work together to find a way to reverse the transformation of the organism."

"As for now, you may leave my Annihilation Song, Eurykan."

Orikan stood up and watched the Silent King walk back to his throne. He slightly extended his finger, and the remains of the Radiant Hapsarast were restored to their original state, only his eyes became dull, as if he were a mere puppet.

"Are you going to the Sindu system?" Orikan asked, staring at the Silent King.

The Silent King seemed amused.

"What are we going to the Sindu system for? To witness my folly?"

"Xerath's so-called reversal of biological transformation now seems to be just a trick he used to get me funding."

"What are you going to do?" Eurican's tone suddenly rose. As an astrologer, even without observing the stars, he possessed a certain ability to foresee the future.

He predicted
"I once destroyed a group of gods in the material universe."

"Now, I am going to hunt down a god in the highest heavens."

"I will kill Doraemon."

"You," Eurican was shocked by the madness emanating from the Silent King: "Why are you doing this! Why are you doing this?"

"That person can truly bring us souls, make us no different from the real living, and give our race hope."

"Isn't this better than reversing biological transformation? We can have a perfect soul within an eternal body."

"you."

The Silent King enunciated each word clearly:
“You were never those who were destroyed by my mistakes and feared death.”

“What?” Eurican froze on the spot.

“You are merely the remnants of my people’s souls, lingering in the mortal realm and tormenting me.”

"Just as I am the remnant soul of the Silent King who made a mistake, wandering in the mortal world trying to find a way to reverse the error."

"I am always filled with guilt for those people I killed, not you, the puppets and slaves created by the Star God using their memories."

"What you want is the future."

"What I need to do is to make amends for the past."

Eurycan looked at the Silent King in disbelief.
In a daze, he understood why the Silent King, despite claiming to feel remorse for his past actions, remained proud, arrogant, and autocratic when facing the Space Necromancer; why he so decisively rejected Doraemon's offer to give the Space Necromancer a soul; and why he occasionally displayed terrifying cruelty towards the Space Necromancer.

The Silent King was filled with remorse for the former Fear of the Dead; the Space Necromancer was merely a lingering shadow of the Fear of the Dead, a ghostly reminder of his past mistakes.

He said that to make up for his past mistakes, he never intended to atone for the spirits of the dead in space, but rather to revive those who fear death.
Without jeopardizing his plan to revive the fearsome, he was willing to project some of his guilt onto the space undead and act in their best interests.
However, he could not tolerate the space necromancers refusing to resurrect the fearsome, so he could only accept the method of biological transformation. He rejected all of them, including Storm King's preservation of the status quo, Xerath and some dynasties' ascension into light, and Doraemon's bestowal of souls.

The astrologer finally let out a low laugh.

"Okay, okay, okay."

"So, this is a war between space necromancers and those who fear the dead, between the future and the past."

"I will curse you forever, the remnant soul of Szalak, the Silent King of the Fear of Death."

The astrologer turned and left.
