Chapter 503: Breathing, the Gate of Amrita

Chapter 503: Breathing, the Gate of Amrita
The matter of nurturing a relationship needs to be handled with caution. Although Ji Ming intends to favor Jin Ni'er and Shu Si, and let the two of them with his own destiny be accomplished together, this matter must also be done without leaving any trace.

Inside the monastery, Hu Laixi talked eloquently like an old Zen master. He talked about the three secrets of body, speech and hearing, the three great gatherings of Buddhism, and then talked about the original deities and great supernatural beings under the Five Buddha lineages.

According to Hu Laixi, among the five Buddhist lineages, only the "Wuxiang Bao Temple" under the central Buddhist lineage and the "Liuli Temple" under the eastern Buddhist lineage are the most prominent.

Places like the Leiyin Temple in the north and the Baofa Temple in the south have almost disappeared. As for the Great Jile Temple in the west, some sounds can be heard occasionally, but it is not very active.

Hu Lai Xi guessed that it was probably because the star gods in the North and South Dipper were too powerful that the Buddhist lineages in the North and South declined.

Ji Ming could tell that, perhaps because Buddhism advocates secret practice, or perhaps because of his own limitations, Hu Lai Xi only had a vague understanding of the things under the Five Buddha Lineages, and many of his knowledge were just his own conjectures and speculations. His words could only be used as a reference.

Fortunately, Hu Lai Xi is good at meditation and can guide Ji Ming in this area.

Meditation is a method in the secret teachings of hearing, also known as the "nectar door". After the conditions are met, Buddhist disciples can use the ritual offerings in the secret teachings of body to obtain the method of meditation from the deity and embark on the path to attaining the fourth fruit.

In Buddhism, meditation is roughly divided into two methods: [observation] and [resting].

During the years when Buddhism flourished, naturally countless methods of meditation and practice were spread throughout the world, helping people who did not have the affinity for it.

Although many Buddhist disciples have made innovations in the methods of meditation, they have not fundamentally departed from the general scope of observation and breathing.

What Hu Laixi practiced is called "Treasure Bottle Contemplation", which is a type of Dharma contemplation.

The Vase Contemplation is to view the body as a bottle. Hu Laixi practiced this meditation method in the past. He stuffed himself into the bottle and abandoned himself in the mountains and rivers. He suffered the pain of the ups and downs of life and finally achieved great success. Now he is about to attain the first fruit, Sotapanna.

The "Avici Two Qi" that Ji Ming obtained from the Buddhist stele in Guangming Xianque is a method of Zen breathing, which is to practice Zen through a special way of mouth and nose breathing.

After Hu Laixi had introduced the two methods of observing breath in the secret teachings, he saw the toes of the mirage dragon insect's claws on the rock seat above him, as if they were knocking on the rock seat unconsciously, causing the stone powder to fall off, which made Hu Laixi's eyelids jump.

After all, he is a dragon, and his innate advantages are really strong. His physical strength alone is not weaker than that of ordinary monsters who have practiced hard for two or three hundred years. Now this dragon has the cause and condition, and he will obtain Buddhist teachings from the deity in the future. Isn't he another patriarch-like figure?

"It's too early, too soon."

Hu Laixi thought to himself, "The most important thing in the practice of Buddhism is enlightenment. Even if one has extraordinary talent and a solid foundation, without enlightenment, Buddhism is just like putting pillars in the wall, and will eventually become a pile of rotten soil."

"Master Hu."

Ji Ming stopped tapping the rock seat, and had some thoughts about his future Buddhist practice in his mind. He said, "Buddhism advocates secret practice, but I have heard of the Dharma in the world. Only by learning from each other's strengths and weaknesses and discussing what we have can we make progress. Why don't we ask the master to invite the Buddhist disciples in the mountains so that we can discuss the Dharma together and share what we have learned?"

"I dare not call myself a mage, you can just call me Lai Xi, sir."

Hu Laixi looked terrified, and then said: "The young master has such an idea, which shows that he has a deep Buddhist nature, but there are very few people who are devoted to Buddhism in Baibao Mountain, and each of them cherishes his own broom. I am afraid that the young master cannot invite them.

If I force you to do so, I'm afraid I won't be able to fulfill your wish."

"It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter."

Ji Ming had a kind face and said, "Although I am new to Buddhism, I also have the heart to save the world and save people. After all, there are only a few people in the world who have the predestined relationship. If everyone keeps their own methods hidden, how can Buddhism flourish in the world?"

"Young Master, be careful!"

Ji Ming was stunned by Hu Laixi's intense performance, and then he understood the deeper reason for practicing in secret. It was because of the heavens above that people did not dare to discuss Buddhism in public, for fear of bringing disaster upon themselves.

"All beings are equal, and all have Buddha nature, so why bother?"

Ji Ming pretended to be compassionate, but he was still unwilling to give up his idea, and the first step to this idea was to establish his reputation as a master of Buddhism.

So he made the next best choice and said, "Don't worry, Lai Xi. I know what you are worried about. We are just discussing some Buddhist teachings behind closed doors in this mountain of treasures. This will not cause any problems."

When Ji Ming said this, Hu Laixi's body shook as if he had the shiver, and he became more and more panicked. He shouted, "Young Master, all living beings are equal, what does this mean? Nowadays, Buddhism emphasizes becoming a Buddha in this life, saving oneself and others, but when will it save all living beings?"

"No one is equal?"

“No, if all beings are equal and can all become Buddhas, how can the heavens tolerate this?

Young Master, you should take back this thought and never mention it in front of others. Otherwise, if it gets out, the Taoist sect will be jealous.”

Hu Laixi's voice trembled, and he looked up from time to time. This fox demon who had just achieved the first fruit of Arhat was actually timid and wanted to cover Ji Ming's mouth.

Ji Ming was not a proper Buddhist disciple after all. A lot of his understanding of Buddhism was brought from his hometown. He lacked a deep understanding of Buddhism under these three days, which is why he said "the view of equality of all beings". The Buddhist knowledge that the deity had passed down earlier came to his mind. The principles in it indeed revolved around the idea of becoming a Buddha in this life. It seemed that under the suppression of the three days, the idea of equality of all beings could not germinate at all.

"Young Master, this is the devil's way!"

Hu Laixi shouted.

"Demon Buddha, it's interesting."

Ji Ming thought to himself.

"Don't worry, I know the severity of the situation.

Go contact the Buddhist disciples in the mountains first and tell them that I want to take the secret Buddhist scriptures from the Thousand Flower Cave and share the samadhi with everyone."

"I"

Ji Ming's face became serious, and he said, "Do you want me to repeat it again?"

"Yes, I will abide by the law."

Hu Laixi had no choice but to obey the demonic power of the young master Chishen in front of him, and left the Thousand Flowers Cave with a heavy heart. He looked back every three steps outside the cave, hoping that the young master would withdraw his order, but there was no movement in the cave.

"Perhaps the young master is just buying fame."

Hu Laixi hypnotized himself in his heart and thought: "He ranks last among the ancestors' disciples, and the current Huang Zaozi who presides over Qingzhen Temple is not an easy person to deal with. He is a jealous person who is jealous of others' talents and has secretly gathered evil parties in the temple to accumulate momentum.

The young master might want to unite the Buddhist monks in the mountains, grant them grace and magic, and increase his reputation so that he can practice in peace in the cave without being disturbed by Huang Zaozi."

After such speculation, Hu Lai Xi finally felt better.

After Hu Laixi came out of the cave, Ji Ming went to the Sutra Tower in the cave. In addition to copying the secret Buddhist books in the Qianhua Cave, he also prepared to find a way to prolong his life. The matter of meeting the Fire Lord has always been on his mind.

The Sutra Building has six floors. Except for the top two floors, Ji Ming can access the rest.

It is worth mentioning that the ancestor once instructed that in the lower three floors, books can be copied at will, but only one can be chosen in the fourth floor, and great merits are required to enter the top two floors.

Outside the Sutra Building, several of the ancestor's registered disciples were on duty. When they saw Ji Ming's unfamiliar face, they were about to scold him, but suddenly they remembered that the ancestor had accepted a new disciple, so they quickly put on a smiling face to greet him, fearing that they were impolite.

Just looking at these registered disciples, one can see that the rules in the cave are very strict. It seems that Ji Ming is definitely the first one who dares to give the ancestor a cold shoulder.

In front of the building, Ji Ming asked the ancestor indirectly about his recent itinerary. Hearing that the ancestor was visiting friends outside again, he felt a little relieved. After all, the ancestor Ku Ma was a man of great Taoism. If he was in the cave, he would always feel worried.

A registered disciple wearing old hemp clothes stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Junior Brother Chi Shen, there are many Taoist books and Buddhist treasures in the building. Why don't I take you to the building to find what you need?"

Ji Ming glanced at him, just smiled, and then went into the building. After Ji Ming left, the disciple still stood there with flattery in his eyes, until he was awakened by the push of his companions.

He swallowed hard, sweat dripping down his face, and said, "He is not a newcomer to the Dao. He just transformed himself. He is just a little demon. How could his illusion be able to confuse me?"

"Brother Tang, should we go to the building?"

The disciples nearby gathered around and asked carefully.

They all noticed something strange about Senior Brother Tang, who was on duty in the Sutra Tower. This senior brother was at the third level of Foundation Establishment and was also a leader in the Cave Temple. Yet he was like a walking corpse just now, and they became nervous for a moment.

"do not go."

The monk surnamed Tang waved his hand and said, "Let's not get involved in the affairs between the disciples."

"But what about the explanation from Senior Brother Huang Zaozi? He has instructed us to report the whereabouts of Chi Shenzi in the cave. Those who disobey will suffer the consequences."

"Go find Empress Jin Er. That evil woman relies on the favor of our eldest brother to accept our tributes every year. She must do something to prove her worth. We should just consider it as a way to ward off disaster."

As the disciple surnamed Tang spoke, he recalled the look that had made him enter a fantasy. He thought to himself, "The foundation of the magic is the soul. The soul of this Chi Shenzi must be much stronger than mine. Is the dragon race really so blessed?! There will be trouble in this Thousand Flower Cave in the future."
