"Out of control."

Jiang Wang snorted coldly and withdrew his gaze.

He didn't want to commit murder, but if anyone dared to provoke him, he wouldn't mind teaching them a lesson.

At this moment, Xuanzhi received news that the monk sent to monitor Jiang Wang had been seriously injured, and his expression instantly turned solemn.

He rushed to the main hall and reported to Master Xuanchen, "Abbot, something terrible has happened! The disciple I sent to monitor that young benefactor has been seriously injured. The opponent is extremely strong, and the disciple didn't even have the strength to fight back!"

A glint of light flashed in Master Xuanchen's eyes as he pondered, "Indeed, he is not simple."

This young benefactor's strength is at least at the Golden Core stage or above.

It seems we can no longer afford to be careless.

Go to the Great Ci'en Temple in person, find Master Xuanzang, and tell him about this matter.

Master Xuanzang is the foremost genius in Buddhism today; perhaps he knows this young benefactor.

"Master Xuanzang?"

A hint of doubt flashed in Xuanzhi's eyes. "Abbot, are you referring to Master Xuanzang, who has recently come to the Great Ci'en Temple to give lectures?"

"Exactly."

Master Xuanchen nodded. "Master Xuanzang was well-versed in Buddhism, had profound cultivation, and had connections with the Heavenly Court and Mount Ling."

Informing him of this might provide a solution.

"Yes, Master Host."

Xuanzhi nodded and turned to walk towards the Great Ci'en Temple.

Jiang Wang was unaware that Xuanzhi had already gone to the Great Ci'en Temple to find Xuanzang.

He lay on the bed, closing his eyes to rest, but his divine sense quietly spread out, enveloping the entire city of Chang'an.

His divine sense, like an invisible net, carefully explored every corner of the city, searching for Tang Sanzang's presence.

Soon, his divine sense locked onto the Great Ci'en Temple.

Inside the Great Ci'en Temple, a rich and pure Buddhist aura permeated the air. This aura was extremely similar to the Buddhist aura of the Golden Cicada that he had absorbed into his body, and it was undoubtedly Tang Sanzang.

A hint of joy flashed in Jiang Wang's eyes, and he thought to himself, "I've finally found you, Tang Sanzang."

His divine sense carefully explored the Great Ci'en Temple and discovered that Tang Sanzang was preaching in the Mahavira Hall.

The hall was packed with monks and common people. Tang Sanzang, dressed in a white monk's robe, with a handsome face and compassionate eyes, was explaining Buddhist teachings in a gentle and serene voice, exuding an aura of solemnity and holiness.

His cultivation level reached the late stage of the Golden Core realm. Although it wasn't top-tier, his Buddhist nature was extremely pure, far surpassing that of ordinary monks.

Just as Jiang Wang's divine sense was about to probe further, a powerful Buddhist force suddenly erupted from Tang Sanzang's body, blocking his divine sense.

Tang Sanzang stopped preaching, looked up in the direction of Hongfu Temple, and a hint of doubt and solemnity flashed in his eyes.

"Such powerful spiritual sense...who is it?"

Jiang Wang was startled, but then smiled with relief—Tang Sanzang was, after all, the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi. Although his cultivation was not high, his Buddhist nature was profound, and he was extremely sensitive to divine sense probing.

He withdrew his divine sense and stopped probing, thinking to himself, "No rush, you can't escape anyway."

"I'll make my move when the time is right."

Inside the Great Ci'en Temple, Tang Sanzang frowned, his heart filled with doubt.

He could sense that although the divine sense he had just encountered was powerful, it was not malicious. Instead, it carried a familiar aura, but he couldn't recall where he had seen it before.

Just then, Xuanzhi rushed to the Great Ci'en Temple, saw Tang Sanzang, and immediately put his hands together and respectfully said, "Master Xuanzang, Amitabha."

This old monk, Xuanzhi of Hongfu Temple, has important matters to report to the Master.

Tang Sanzang came to his senses, put his hands together, and said, "Master Xuanzhi, you are too kind. Please speak."

Xuanzhi told Tang Sanzang everything about Jiang Wang, including Jiang Wang's search for Tang Sanzang, his knowledge of the journey to the West to obtain the scriptures, and his serious injury to the disciples of Hongfu Temple.

Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang's expression instantly turned serious.

"Looking for Tang Sanzang? To know about the journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures?"

He thought to himself, "Tang Sanzang is my Buddhist name. Apart from myself and my several teachers, no one else knows this."

Who exactly is this young benefactor? How does he know my Buddhist name and the story of the Journey to the West?

He pondered for a moment and said, "Master Xuanzhi, this matter is of great importance."

"Please take me to Hongfu Temple; I need to meet this young benefactor."

He was puzzled and wanted to meet Jiang Wang in person to find out his background and purpose.

"it is good!"

Xuanzhi nodded and quickly led Tang Sanzang toward Hongfu Temple.

Inside a guest room at Hongfu Temple, Jiang Wang heard footsteps outside and a playful smile appeared on his lips.

He could sense that Tang Sanzang's presence was rapidly approaching.

"coming."

He stood up, straightened his clothes, and sat down in the chair, feigning innocence, waiting for Tang Sanzang to arrive.

Soon, the guest room door was pushed open, and Xuanzhi led Tang Sanzang in.

Tang Sanzang's gaze fell on Jiang Wang, scrutinizing him carefully.

The child in front of him looked to be no more than seven or eight years old, with delicate features and pure eyes, appearing harmless. However, Tang Sanzang sensed an unfathomable aura emanating from him—an aura mixed with demonic power, Daoist power, and a trace of extremely strange black energy, exactly the same as the divine sense aura he had just sensed.

Jiang Wang raised his head, looked at Tang Sanzang, and asked with feigned confusion, "Great monk, who are you? Why are you staring at me?"

Tang Sanzang put his hands together and said respectfully, "Young benefactor, Amitabha."

The old monk Xuanzang, whose Dharma name is Sanzang.

"I've heard that you're looking for me, young benefactor. May I ask what brings you here?"

A hint of surprise flashed in Jiang Wang's eyes, then he feigned excitement and said, "You're Master Tang Sanzang? That's wonderful! I've finally found you!"

He stood up, ran to Tang Sanzang's side, tilted his little face up, and said in a feignedly innocent tone, "Master, I heard from others that you are going to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures, is that true? I want to go with you too!"

Tang Sanzang's heart stirred, and a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes.

He scrutinized Jiang Wang, trying to find a flaw in his eyes, but Jiang Wang's eyes were pure and innocent, as if he really was just a child who wanted to follow him to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures.

“Young benefactor, the journey to the West to obtain the scriptures is extremely dangerous. There are demons and monsters along the way, as well as all kinds of difficulties and obstacles. You are still too young to go.”

"I'm not afraid!"

Jiang Wang tilted his little face up and said with a determined look, "I'm very powerful! I can protect Master! I can drive away those demons and monsters with a single punch!"

He deliberately acted like a child, speaking in a naive yet firm tone.

Xuanzhi watched from the side, his heart filled with doubts—this young benefactor was so cold just now, but now he is so innocent and carefree. Which side is his true face?

Tang Sanzang pondered for a moment and said, "Young benefactor, the journey to the West to obtain the scriptures is a major undertaking for Buddhism, not child's play. Why don't you stay at Hongfu Temple and wait for me to return from the journey, then I will come to see you again, okay?"

He didn't want to reject Jiang Wang directly; he wanted to appease him first and then slowly investigate his background.

Jiang Wang lowered his head, feigning disappointment, and whispered, "Alright... then Master must come back soon."

He thought to himself, "Trying to keep me calm? Fine, I'll play along. I'll make my move once you leave Chang'an and embark on your journey to the West."

Seeing Jiang Wang's dejected look, Tang Sanzang's heart stirred slightly, and he said, "Don't worry, young benefactor, this old monk will definitely return soon."

"By the way, young benefactor, what is your name? Where do you live? Why have you come to Chang'an alone?"

He wanted to get more information from Jiang Wang.

Jiang Wang raised his head, a look of grievance on his face, and said, "My name is Tu Xiaonai. I have no home and no relatives. I have been wandering around alone."

I've heard that there are many eminent monks in Chang'an, so I want to come here to find one and follow him in my practice.

Later, I heard from others that the master was going to the Western Paradise to obtain Buddhist scriptures, and I wanted to follow him.

He fabricated a tragic backstory to deliberately gain Tang Sanzang's sympathy.

Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang felt a pang of pity.

He looked at Jiang Wang and said gently, "In that case, young benefactor, please stay at Hongfu Temple for a while and practice with me."

"Once I am fully prepared and set off on my journey to the West to obtain the scriptures, I will decide whether to take you with me."

Although he still had doubts, he couldn't bear to refuse Jiang Wang because of his pitiful appearance.

"Really? That's wonderful! Thank you, Master!"

Jiang Wang feigned excitement, grabbed Tang Sanzang's leg, and flashed a bright smile.

Tang Sanzang smiled and gently patted Jiang Wang's head.

Xuanzhi watched from the side, his heart filled with confusion. He wanted to warn Tang Sanzang to be careful of Jiang Wang, but he swallowed the words back. Tang Sanzang's mind was made up, and there was no use in saying anything more. He could only secretly strengthen his defenses to prevent Jiang Wang from doing anything that would harm Tang Sanzang.

For the next few days, Jiang Wang stayed at Hongfu Temple to practice under the guidance of Tang Sanzang.

He followed Tang Sanzang in chanting scriptures and reciting Buddhist mantras every day, pretending to be devout, but secretly he was constantly probing Tang Sanzang's Buddha-nature, looking for the best opportunity to seize it.

At the same time, he was also observing Tang Sanzang's every move, understanding his personality and habits, in order to prepare for future actions.

In the past few days, Tang Sanzang had been secretly observing Jiang Wang.

He discovered that although Jiang Wang looked young, he was extremely intelligent. Whether it was chanting scriptures or practicing Buddhism, he grasped the concepts very quickly, even surpassing some of the older monks in the temple.

Moreover, Jiang Wang is well-behaved and sensible, and he is extremely respectful to the monks in the temple, so he doesn't seem like a person with malicious intent.

Even so, Tang Sanzang's doubts did not diminish—he always felt that the strange aura emanating from Jiang Wang was definitely not that of a benevolent person.

That morning, Jiang Wang followed Tang Sanzang to practice Buddhism in the courtyard.

Suddenly, a golden light fell from the sky and landed above Hongfu Temple.

Amidst the golden light, an immortal dressed in a white Taoist robe slowly descended. The immortal had a handsome face, held a whisk in his hand, and exuded a powerful aura; he was a cultivator at the early stage of the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm.

"Master Xuanzang, this humble Taoist greets you."

The immortal clasped his hands together and respectfully addressed Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang quickly stood up, put his hands together, and said, "You're too kind, Immortal Master."

"May I ask what brings you, Immortal, to Hongfu Temple?"

The immortal said, "I am Sha Wujing, the Curtain-Lifting General of Heaven. I have come on the orders of the Jade Emperor to inform the Master that the journey to the West to obtain the scriptures is about to begin."

The Jade Emperor has ordered Guanyin Bodhisattva to select three disciples for the monk and escort him to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures.

Soon, Guanyin Bodhisattva will come and show the Dharma Master the way.

"Sha Wujing?"

A hint of amusement flashed in Jiang Wang's eyes as he thought to himself, "I didn't expect that Sha Wujing would arrive first."

It seems the journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures has officially begun.

He already knew Sha Wujing's identity, that he was originally the Curtain-Raising General of Heaven, who was banished to the mortal world for accidentally breaking a glass lamp, where he became a demon in the Flowing Sand River, and was later enlightened by Guanyin Bodhisattva and became Tang Sanzang's third disciple.

Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang was overjoyed and quickly said, "Thank you for informing me, Immortal Master. Thank you for your compassion, Jade Emperor. Thank you for your mercy, Guanyin Bodhisattva."

He had been looking forward to this day for a long time.

Sha Wujing smiled and said, "Master, you don't need to be so polite."

I have important matters to attend to, so I will not disturb the Master's practice.

Goodbye.

After saying that, he transformed into a golden ray of light and disappeared into the sky.

Looking in the direction where Sha Wujing had left, Tang Sanzang was filled with excitement.

He turned to look at Jiang Wang and said, "Little Grandma, did you hear that? The journey to the West to obtain the scriptures is about to begin. Guanyin Bodhisattva will select three disciples for me to escort me to the West to obtain the scriptures."

Jiang Wang feigned excitement and said, "I heard that! Master, that's wonderful! When are we leaving? I want to go with you!"

Tang Sanzang smiled and said, "No rush. We'll set off after Guanyin Bodhisattva arrives, selects a disciple, and everything is ready."

He looked at Jiang Wang, a thought flickering in his mind, and said, "Little Madam, if you really want to come with me, then you must cultivate diligently and increase your strength."

The demons and monsters along the way are extremely dangerous; only those with great strength can protect themselves and help me.

"I understand, Master! I will definitely cultivate diligently!"

Jiang Wang nodded vigorously, but secretly sneered in his heart, "Strengthen your strength? My current strength is far greater than that of your three disciples."

"Once we embark on the journey to the West, I will not only seize your Buddha-nature, but also bring your three disciples under my command and make them my servants!"

Just then, a soft beam of Buddhist light descended from the sky, enveloping the entire Hongfu Temple.

Amidst the Buddha's light, a woman dressed in white slowly descended. The woman had an exquisite face, compassionate eyes, and held a vase and willow branch in her hand. Her aura was sacred and solemn; she was none other than Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Her cultivation was unfathomable, far surpassing that of Sha Wujing, reaching the peak of the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm, and only one step away from becoming a Quasi-Saint.

"Amitabha."

Guanyin Bodhisattva clasped her hands together and respectfully addressed Tang Sanzang, saying, "Master Xuanzang, this humble nun Guanyin has come by order of the Buddha to guide you, select a disciple, and escort you to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures."

Tang Sanzang immediately knelt down and bowed respectfully, saying, "Disciple Xuanzang greets Guanyin Bodhisattva."

"Thank you, Bodhisattva, for your compassion and assistance."

Jiang Wang also knelt down to pay his respects, but in his heart he was secretly observing Guanyin Bodhisattva.

He could sense that the Buddhist power emanating from Guanyin Bodhisattva was extremely pure and powerful, even more so than that of some Buddhas on Mount Ling.

Moreover, Guanyin Bodhisattva's eyes were extremely sharp, as if they could see through all illusions. (End of Chapter)
