When I wrote this book, I just wanted to write about Zhengde, because I found that people on the Internet often regarded Zhengde as a tyrant, and some regarded him as a funny guy. But I personally think that even if Emperor Zhengde was not a great monarch, he was at least a simple and kind person, a somewhat idealistic and full of personality. Unfortunately, he may have been harmed by civil servants. So, the author wanted to write a novel about traveling through time to become Emperor Zhengde, and write a story of the Zhengde Dynasty in a different style.

Before writing Zhengde, I had written a book about Tianqi, and then abandoned a book halfway through. I have many regrets about both books. I did not write out the feeling of dominating the world that I wanted in Tianqi, and the abandoned book "The Flatterers" made me lose the opportunity to write the story of the middle Ming Dynasty. I have always wanted to write about the story of the Ming Dynasty after the beginning of Zhengde, because there were many interesting characters during this period, such as the protagonist of this article Zhu Houzhao, Wang Yangming, Qi Jiguang, Xu Wenchang, etc.

Therefore, I hope to make up for these regrets in this book, The Zhengde Emperor. I have been wandering alone and making a living by writing for nearly three years. I have not saved much money and my health has deteriorated a lot. Fortunately, I can still continue to write books. I hope I can earn more money from this book and rent a house with a shower room.
